Comment: I must say this years BET awards was on of the better award shows in a while.
I was a big Prince fan back in the day and I just enjoyed watching him perform, I could see how much he loves music and he seems to be getting more comfortable around his peers.
Yolanda Adams and Prince were the best in my opinion.
I also think the performers need to rehearse more.
India Iry, forgot a few words,and she mumbled to much.Chaka Khan and Stevie allthough talented artist should sing more with out mumbling and screetching so much.

Comment: i have to say i enjoyed the BET awards. it was great! i also enjoyed the Busta reunion with everybody up there and eminen joining them. it was good. only thing, whenever Jamie is performing, i wish he sings behind the Piano. that is his strongest area. he sings better when playing the piano. and i ain't gonna lie...i wish that was me kissing him.

Comment: I'm not hatin on Beyonce b/c the girl is talented and beautiful BUT I agree with fuzzygoss about the recycled booty shaking. To maintain longevity in this business, you have to keep re-inventing yourself to keep it fresh. Beyonce has been doing that booty shake shat since Crazy in Love. With this new album, she needs to take her dancing and performance to a new level or in a different direction. I am sure she wants to differentiate herself from Destiny's Child, now she should differentiate herself from these other R&B females by keeping it hot and FRESH. That is what is gonna keep the fans hungry to see her and hear her music. We already see and hear enough from her whether she has a project in the works or not, so give us something different B - we know you have it in ya.

Comment: I finally saw the BET awards and must say it was one of the better ones. Busta Rhymes & Crew tore it down!! I wish I could've popped out on stage with them. Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary and Chris Brown are true talent.

Comment: Caught the show on DVR. Hype vs. history. The Chaka Khan set was the best. Damon Wayans? WTH? Beyonce looked pretty and she probably will give a good concert with the all-girl band but the performance was "eh". Not really into rap/hip hop. Overall, the entire BET Awards concept needs an overhaul. I mean, what sets them apart from the other 12 million awards shows? Or the 2 million BLACK awards shows?

Comment: TJ, DMX was in LA, and he was on the red carpet performing he just didn't attend the ceremony itself. Busta was there in his white suit and brim before he changed for his performancce.

Comment: I thought DMX had a curfew due to his troubles. I couldn't tell what was going on in his pre-show. They should've had Cherish do the opening act. I really like that song "Do It To It". Their routine is pritcy. Beyonce's DeJaVu remind me of a Teena Marie song from 1984. Based on her performance, you can tell she's trying to avoid the sophmore jinx. My male co-worker said that the best way to avoid that is to not worry about it and keep that same hunger from the first album.

Comment: I've said it before and I'll say it again: Christians/gospel artists can appreciate good music/a good song, be it gospel or not. And Christians can get their swerve on and drop it like it's hot in "healthy" ways while a good love song is playing (Hallelujah!) From how I hear it, Chaka ASKED Yolanda to sing when the original person couldn't make it. So all this shock and awe about Yolanda singing on the Chaka set is a bit overdramatic.

Comment: Dovelyone is right...what's wrong with a Christian sing a great song. Chaka's music has been around for some time, we all know the words and if you noticed Yolanda did change some of the lyrics. MaryMary and Yolanda did their thing...Beyonce is my girl, but her performance wasn't that great to me, especially when she was on the floor. I think she's a great entertainer/singer, but that performance wasn't stellar. She would have been better off doing a Mariah Carey and barely move. LOL
