It sounds as if he is saying that God sanctions violence against women when she forgets her "limitations." I have never read that anywhere in the Bible. Ain't no fool like an old fool.

Regardless of what James Brown says this is NOT a man's world- it is ours just as well and WE get to dictate the construct of our world, which includes our "place" and our "limitations." Our place is defined by us and we set our own limitations. Women are not pets who can be told to go and sit and be expected to obey. We are not children in need of some man to tell us our place.

Comment: I think that some men do what whites do and that's to try and use the Bible as a justification for their horrible actions. Whites tried to justify slavery with Bible verses. Men against females in the pulpit use the Bible to try and justify their stance. And then men take the submission thing to a level God never intended by skipping the above passage in their reading. It is a guide, for instance we can even find a scripture to line up when we are doing wrong too. Nuff said. Don't get me wrong, love the word, and live the word but I also have the gift of discernment and common sense and I use them both when neccessary.

Comment: actually he way I read the Biblical references regarding how men and women should act as hubbies and wives has less to do with subjugation and oppression than with order and balance....the husbands owes respect to the wife and vice versa.....folks misread it to mean that a man can treat a woman any kind of way and that is "her place"...

Comment: Speaking of the bible, no matter what some of you guys think, that book speaks truth. Some of the things that are happening now was set forth in bible thousands of years ago. I just think people misinterpret the bible wrong when they use scripture to identify something. It is not the book itself, it is folks. Regardless of any religion concerns here, JB is carnal at its best. I lost some cool points with the Godfather of Soul, but it doesn't come to my surprise that he would say something silly like this because he is a womanizer anyhows.

H.e.l.l almost everyone on this site will take a couple of slaps, get cursed out or get shoved to the floor when they know they can get millions.
