Comment: THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING! A Driven President Faces a World of Crises By Michael Abramowitz and Robin Wright Washington Post Staff Writers Thursday, July 6, 2006; A01 From deteriorating security in Afghanistan and Somalia to mayhem in the Middle East, confrontation with Iran and eroding relations with Russia, the White House suddenly sees crisis in every direction. North Korea's long-range missile test Tuesday, although unsuccessful, was another reminder of the bleak foreign policy landscape that faces President Bush even outside of Iraq. Few foreign policy experts foresee the reclusive Stalinist state giving up the nuclear weapons it appears to have acquired, making it another in a long list of world problems that threaten to cloud the closing years of the Bush administration, according to foreign policy experts in both parties. "I am hard-pressed to think of any other moment in modern times where there have been so many challenges facing this country simultaneously," said Richard N. Ha%*$, a former senior Bush administration official who heads the Council on Foreign Relations. "The danger is that Mr. Bush will hand over a White House to a successor that will face a far messier world, with far fewer resources left to cope with it." White House officials emphatically reject such pessimism, and yesterday leading figures in both parties saw some diplomatic opportunity for the United States out of the missile failure. But the events on the Korean Peninsula underscored how the administration has lost the initiative it once possessed on foreign policy in the aftermath of the Iraq invasion, leaving at risk the central Bush aspiration of democracy-building around the world. They also showed how the huge commitment of resources and time on Iraq -- and the attendant falloff in international support for the United States -- has limited the administration's flexibility in handling new world crises. "This is a distracted government that has to take care of too many things at the same time and has been consumed by the war on Iraq," said Moisés Naím, editor of Foreign Policy magazine.

Comment: Good Morning everyone! I was wondering if anyone know whether or not Ashanti is really pregnant. It is hard for me to believe that she is since the tabloids have not mentioned it, just a couple websites. also, Nelly had a party and their was no mention of Ashanti. I guess she is just in hiding about it. Even if they do not want to focus on her, Nelly is a big time artist as well. It looks like Gotti jacked her and Ja Rule career up. what do you guys think?

Name: bigchassie
Comment: OK...just came back from the YBF blogspot (sorry YLawdY but i had to!) somebody needs to kidnap Jaheim and tie him to a barber chair or take him to Al Sharpton's hairdresser and do something with that hair. and *comming in like the robot from "Lost In Space* WARNING! WARNING, WILL ROBINSON! BOBBY BROWN MUST BE DESTROYED!! oh mommy make him stop! no! no! he must be eliminted!...There are pics of the essence awards. the pics are interesting. the ladies looked nice. and my sweetie finally got on the piano and perfromed but i wish he take those dayumed shades off!

Name: lilmocc
Comment: 4mybabygirl> I don't think Ashanti is preggers. I saw some pics from a gala event she and Nelly were at in the Lou over the weekend and there is no way she is preggers. If so, it is very early on. No stomach nowhere on her in those pics. She and Nelly are still very much an item.

Comment: Good mawnin' Black Peoples! I see Bush ain't even trying to have none of North Korea. They have their missles pointed straight at the West Coast and what does he do? Say oh, let's isolate them. Here is a direct threat to us and all he could do is holler about "let's isolate them?" But meanwhile, he was ready to jump all in Iraq's and Saddam's azz. What a wuzz. And North Korea said they're not finished, they're going to do it a again! The monkey know what tree to climb.

Comment: Tyra's No To Touch Ups We are, quite possibly, Tyra Banks' biggest fans. And she's just revealed something that makes us love her even more. She's saying no to digital enhancement. The America's Next Top Model presenter has put her foot down and insists that any magazine shoot she does isn't touched up afterwards. Instead, Tyra will rely solely on make-up and hair extensions to look gorge. Not that she needs them, in our humble opinion... Her rep said: "Modelling is an unreal business, but Tyra wants to make it more real. "She always tried to get heavier women to take part in America's Next Top Model - although the industry continues to reject them and the few that get through are magically transformed into waifs by magazines." Tyra, you're our hero.

Comment: Morning everyone. Let's talk music. I was checking the billboard hot 100 singles and airplay and I saw that I must not be the only one that Beyonce's new song hasn't grown on. It's in the top 5 for airplay (meaning radio is killing it) however, it's #33 on the chart meaning people aren't buying it. Also, I don't see Janet and Nelly's song on there, I might have to go and check, I didn't like that one at first but now it's got me. I wish I could understand what Janet is saying, I hate it when she mumbles. Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado is my jam! But I don't like her voice on it. I think Timbaland should have given that song to a black girl.

Comment: Hey bighead! How are you? I meant to say I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I didn't see the article about it, I do know there was a quadruple shooting this morning. DC and PG county are out of control right now. YlawdY< I hope that Tyra story is true. I don't mind airbrushing for zits and stretchmarks but when they start making 18 in waists like they did on Janet, and messing with people features to make them look more eurocentric (beyonce) I think these starts should put their foot down.

Comment: Thank you very much Bighead for the Happy Birthday to my grandson. I will be talking to him later today.

Comment: Sharmona > thanks for the shoutout!!! Mothership > Bush loves to use muscle in poor middle eastern countries to keep all the sand n!ggas under control. However he won't dare try that shat with North Korea cause that crazy old man will push the button. Our country is a serious risk with North Korea. He's blown all of the DOD's resources to ensure his oil was secure and now that we have a world threat we're depleted. He's a dayum criminal. That fool in North Korea scares me.

Name: lovinlife
Comment: IJA > I don't like Beyonce's new song either. SHe screamed and screamed and never got anywhere. I also don't like that new Christina Aguilera song either, more shrieking. I haven't heard Nelly and Janet's song or at least I didn't recognize it as a janet song if I did. My new favorite song is "Pretty Baby" by Eric Benet, is that a new song or am I just behind the times?

Name: TAZBABY
Comment: Thanks IJA, Unfortunately I will not be seeing him because he live in Fresno, CA with his Mom but I will talk with him and see him at the end of the month. I mailed off his Birthday gift on Monday, so he should be a happy little boy today.

Name: ImJustAsking
Comment: I found Janet's song! I wasn't expecting it to debut so high on the chart. It debuted at number 19! I didn't look that high up. Beyonce's song has been out for 3 weeks at it's like number 30 something.

Name: lovinlife
Comment: Taz, happy Birthday to your Grandbaby! My sweet angel boy is 9, that's such a good boy age, they still love their mamas and haven't entered into that moody shat.

Name: ImJustAsking
Comment: Lovinlife< I know Eric Benet has something new out but I don't know if it's called Pretty baby. I was hoping to like Xtina Aguilera's song since her voice is FIYAH but I hate it. And please, if you hear the new J.lo song turn YOUR RADIO OFF IMMEDIATELY. She sounds even more awful than usual. moodring< Nelly furtado is colored folk since she's from Brazil however, the way her voices drops on the end of a note is decidedly white! I know a lot of her fans do not appreciate her new nakedness and urban sound. Her first album was good though.

Comment: OK fam I have an opinion question, I especially want to hear from the menses on the board. My brother is having a difficult time right now, I will admit most of it is self-induced. He's the sibling that everybody always rallys to help out when he has problems. He got into trouble and got arrested and we pooled out money to bail him out. He needs to leave where he's at and start "new", so here's the opinion question. My husband offered to let him come and stay with us, and while I love him for saying it I'm not sure if it's a good idea. I love my brother and I hate that he's suffering but I'm not sure I can deal with him living in my house. He'd have to come with the clothes on his back so basically I'd have to take care of him. He has no problem working but I'd have to take him to find work and then get him there until he can get a car. Way down at the bottom of the list is he's messy and I don't like that. I'm really particular about how clean my house is and I know that would get on my nerves. So I'm just not sure if I want to invite that into my life. Am I wrong for that? My mom has offered to let him come and stay with her and my Dad until he gets on his feet. He doesn't want to cause he knows she's gonna lecture the heyell out of him and make him go to church. But honestly I think that's the best option for him right now. Again am I wrong? My brother is dayum near 40 years old. As a man would it be difficult to have another man staying in your house that you have to take care of? Help ya'll.

Name: Fragrance
Comment: Taz, I bet your birthday grandson is standing by the phone waiting for your call!!! What does he want for his birthday? Is he into the video games, or he wants to see the movie, Cars? If he blows out candles on his cake, I hope they take a picture so you can post it. I'm sure he must be a cutie-pie at that age.

Name: ImJustAsking
Comment: Lovinlife< I think your brother probably should go wherever he can get on his feet the quickest. I don’t know if you live near your parents, but I would look at the job and rental market and he should go wherever he will have better opportunity for advancement so he will have less time for trouble. I’m not a man, but I do know that two grown azz men in one house is generally a no-go. My father has a brother like yours and he stayed with us for about 2 weeks when I was little, that was all my dad could take. I think that’s why there is such a term as “the man of the house” MAN not MEN. There can only be one IMO. And at least in you father’s house he could be sure of his place since he would be used to your father being the man. If he doesn’t want to go to church just tell him that if he would have gone to jail, he would have found Jesus or Allah anyway. LOL!

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: Hey, Moodring! I'm just very proud of Sir Derrty. Brother came from lint and buttons! I'm just waiting for his CD with the 'Tics to drop in either August or September. Lovinlife, I can understand where you're coming from too. Look up Volunteers of America. They have a tier program for to house folks with substance and certain other problems. They get them on their feet.

Comment: IJA> Do you find the lingerie to be true to size on that site? Like do you wear the same size there as you would if you were to go into the store? I know some web order sites are like that. You order your size and when it arrives its too big or too small.

Comment: lovin life if I may be so bold as to ask. What do his problems stem from?

Name: sigmascribe
Comment: Family;-) {IJA}I like the Nelly/Timbaland song....He could have given it to Janet. It would have been better than that one with the other Nelly plus she wouldn't have to act like she can SING. The Beyonce song will probably fly up the charts when that video hits TRL. Eric Benet's voice gets on my nerves. {Lovinlife}wherever your brother goes he's going to need concrete guidelines...like when he has to leave!!!! No matter what! OR Maybe everyone has to toughen up on him and let him fall, then pick HIMSELF up.....maybe?

Name: moodring100
Comment: IMJUSTASKING>>well,well SERIOUS LOLLLLLLLL

Name: lovinlife
Comment: Bighead > Sigma hit the nail on his head. He's never grown up. His problems stem from immaturity and a great big ole giant chip on his shoulders. In his defense he was used as a pawn in a fight with my mom and her siblings. My brother ran away when he was 16 cause he didn't want to follow my mom's rules. Instead of them turning him around and sending him home they snuck him out of the state to my grandparents. It was a huge family scandal and my brother hasn't been right since. My mom was strict but so what, she wasn't abusive and we had all of our needs met and quite a few of our wants. She demanded that the house be cleaned and we do well in school. There's nothing unusual about him rebelling against that but what turned the situation into the mess that it is today is that he NEVER ever learned accountability. He needed what my mom was trying to teach him then and it's manifesting itself in his life all these years later. My uncle that helped him "get away" from mom is now still rescuing him, only now he's starting to get sick of it. So in a nutshell my brother has never grown up.

Name: ImJustAsking
Comment: Sigma< is code orange good or bad? lol Those colors are confusing. You're probably right about the Beyonce song and the video. I never thought about having Janet sing the song with Tim but that would have been a good choice. Janet could have put the extra sexy on it without tryin too hard like Nelly. If the weather man says "it's a 50% chance of rain" does that mean he has no idea if its going to rain or not? If people with one arm go to get their nails done, do they pay half price? Comment: Good Afternoon everyone-long time no see( like i ever could) LovinLife, if i may offer my 2 cents- I have a sister who is hard harded-she was a rebel at 12 like she still is at 35. She did not want to listen and as a result her life is all f*cked up. But we're all adults now and when you get in the age zone 0f 25-30, it's time for you to get over yourself and shake your problems off. It's absolutely absurd to be almost 20 years out of high school still fuming and steaming over high school issues. And if you can't see that the decisions you make today affect your tomorrow in the long term, then you've got a problem. IMO, let your brother start standing up on his own. Once he gets going only offer small doses of help to 1) not allow him to slip back into being dependent on anyone other than himself and 2) show that you are supportive. B/c in the long run? Once he settles into your home and he gets comfortable, you can forget about maintaining a peaceful home. When you invite someone into your home, you also invite their battles, enemies and demons.

Comment: You have already heard about Sony’s new white PSP series ad. The advert, which has appeared on billboards in the Netherlands, shows a white woman gripping a black woman by the jaw and features the slogan: “PlayStation Portable White is coming.” Many websites and forum posters have protested that the advert is racist and are campaigning for its removal. A Sony spokesperson stated that the ad wasn’t published because of racist issues but to mention color difference of the old PSP and the new one: “The marketing campaign for the launch of the White PSP in the Benelux focuses on the contrast between the Black PSP model and the new Ceramic white PSP model.”

Comment: North Korea mocks international criticism By JOSEPH COLEMAN, Associated Press Writer 22 minutes ago North Korea angrily mocked international criticism of its multiple missile tests, threatening on Thursday to fire off more rockets. In the face of nearly unanimous world condemnation of the seven missile tests on Wednesday, Pyongyang's foreign minister released a blustery statement declaring that it had the right to develop and test its weapons — and vowing unspecified retaliation against anyone who tries to stop it. "Our military will continue with missile launch drills in the future as part of efforts to strengthen self-defense deterrent," said the statement, carried in state-run media. "If anyone intends to dispute or add pressure about this, we will have to take stronger physical actions in other forms." The statement did not specify what actions North Korea would take. The aggressive stance from Pyongyang coincided with intense diplomatic activity in world capitals to formulate a response to the tests. Washington and its allies — particularly Japan — clamored for sanctions against the North, but struggled against resistance by China and Russia.

I was in a similiar situation about a year ago when a good friend of mine lost his job and fell on hard times. He asked if I could put him up for a few months. I reluctantly agreed considering his irresponsible nature. However, I let him know that I expected him to have a job by a certain date even if it meant becoming one of those guys who hangout at drive thru carwashes drying off cars for tips. I also let him know that I expected him to help out around the house in everyway because he was not a guest. There would be no sleeping in. If I got up early on a sat morn to work in the yard, I expected him to be up helping. Because I said I would be damn if a grown man is going to lay around my house. Also, He would not be allowed house guests because I do not trust some of the characters he deals with. He decided that staying with me would be such a hassle that he looked elsewhere. If you lay down the rules with your brother he just may choose to live with one of your parents instead.

And our captain was like really? And she said yeah, in high school! I was like is this b!tch serious? She like 50 years old. You WERE a runner. Sometimes people who haven't discovered what makes them happy in their adult life tend to rely on things that happened in the past when they were young adults. Comment: Of course, China is putting up resistance to bring down North Korea, because China is a communist country. The United states better wake up. Here's the situation: should the U.S. go into war concerning this and China is against. China could call in the United States export debt which is approximately 3 trillion dollars, that would cripple the U.S. economy.....bring it to a slow crawl......such a thing would render the United States useless....War against Korea (North) is a non issue. Contrary to popular belief, the Bush Administration, would be "out of their minds" to go against North Korea at this time. Check your clothes, appliances, cellular phones, shoes, etc. We look loving for less, in the end it could cost us everything. Ross Perot predicted this years ago, when the Clinton Administration was all in bed with China and the other over the Free Trade Agreement....problem....its detrimental to import more than you export...SUPERPOWER.....we could be on our way out

As far as North Korea, I wouldn't give a dayum. All this talk about not having troops and resources to commit to another "war"? The war would be short. "Hello, Mr. North Korean President? Comment: RADICAL MUSIC MAN GETS JAIL July 6, 2006 -- The man who stirred the political pot during the 1970s with his song "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" will be singing the blues after a judge ordered him to prison yesterday. Gil Scott Heron, 56, a pioneer of hip-hop music, was sentenced to two to four years in Queens Supreme Court for violating a plea deal on a drug-possession charge by leaving a treatment center. Heron said he is HIV-positive and claimed the in-patient rehab center stopped giving him his medication. But the prosecution noted Heron once skipped out for an appearance with singer Alicia Keys. Justice Pauline Mullings could have given Heron up to six years.
