Comment: Jesse didn't do no more than what they pay these lobbyists to do, including Judicial Watch. Please.

Comment: As much as I don't care too much for Jesse Jackson, Min Farrakhan really broke it down. Monique called him a Pimp at the Essence Fest and the minister felt that was inappropriate because that's the very same thing that brings us down as black people. We tend to focus on a person's negative press instead of what they've done for us as a people and he went on to remind us that when Jesse was running for President, he debated the white boy he was running against and beat him hands down in the debate and as a result of his successful bid to run for President, it opened many more doors for our current black politicians now...

Comment: Black people should first ask the question, Who is this "conservative" legal group. Most of the examples used to support their argument seem weak and the others sounds suspiciously flawed. But this is the image that the white media wants to portray of Jesse and others who would champion the cause for civil rights. Jesse on the other hand need to refrain from taking their money or even go into any negotiations with them about supporting any worthy cause. All we need to do is boycott them when they fall out of line. Take BP, they claim that of the hundreds of franchises operated in this country, they can't find a qualified black person to operate one. As black person, you must take that as an insult, because you have more than likely been denied employment opportunities with the use of that very line. But how do you recognize BP? The present BP campaign slogan is
"when you see Amoco or Arco, just blow your horn and drive by."

Comment: While I do respect Jesse Jackson for what he has done in the past, its time he was replaced by some of the younger leaders. His strong armed tactics of the past just in't going to cut it in this day and age of more minorites clammoring for that ever shrinking piece of the pie and he can be used by the "conservatives" as a whipping boy.

Comment: What up MOTHERSHIP?! Sun shining my way, yours too. I agree with what you said about the lobbyists and Stephanie made an excellent point as well. We need not be so quick to judge based on biased info and a lack of understanding. Jesse teeters back and forth between 'nation time' and 'me and mine' but it seems that he's more of a positive presence than the opposite. Do I agree with all of his battles? No. But from the outside looking in, he's providing a voice in spaces that without him might otherwise stay silent. If not him, who? The Congressional Black Caucus (sp), Urban League, NAACP, Pre-paid Legal? Like MOTHER said, please.

Comment: Good day all. I have to say that I've heard some very disturbing things about Jesse in the past few years. I don't the trust in him that I used to have. I was part of his campaign effort back in 1984, so you know what I'm saying. I'd have to agree that his tactics are questionable, to say the least. He has stayed afloat all this time thru the generosity of major companies, who he has strong armed.
I also believe that he had something to do with Dr. King's
death, not to mention his numerous affairs....I could go on and on. The other poster was right, it's time for some
new blood, elevate the younger, up and coming new leaders. Jesse, sit your %*$ down!!!
