Comment: Star has gained so much popularity out of this. So what if she put their address on blast, thing is they don't care what the viewers have to say. It's real funny how they say her ratings were down, what about Elizabeth? What about Joy? The ABC execs are a little cocky now because they have a few good shows that are doing good in the ratings, but think about it they don't have any shows with people that look like us. They will try to find someone of color to fill Star's place, but lets face it, it won't be the same.

In truth Star has toned down a bit, but I believe it's because she KNEW she was getting fired since last year.
What employer looking to replace you is going to tell you to your face?? And if you mention all the bad blood to your next employer, they may not hire you either. It's the real world people -- we just get to look at it from the outside.

The other thing is whether you consider cable second rate of not, I would wager to bet it pays as much as “network” TV. Star will rebound, because there are choices to ABC, NBC, and CBS. Comment: Thanks Baddestchick & Angel -- I stand correct (LOL). About Star, however, we have to remember Star’s departure didn’t happen overnight. She knew for months that she was going to be out of a job – it was her responsibility to find another gig. If this real estate show was the only gig she could find then that’s one her – not ABC, Barbara Walters or her being Black. I personally believe Star should take a breather… get out of the public eye for a while. People are getting tired of Star. I also agree that posting ABC execs and BW email address wasn’t a good move. Did she say on the Steve Harvey show she had no ill blood towards ABC or Walters… now she encouraging her “fans” to write them. If that was the case she would move on and make no more mention of ABC, The View or BW. For me Star is a walking contradiction and agree with BW that she can’t be trusted.

After that, she was missing from The View for a few days (they told her not to come in) and that's what led up to all of this from the gitgo. Comment: What I find interesting is that even AFTER Star addressed each and every issue that has been launched against her, people seem yet to have reevaluated their disregard for her. She admitted that the network agreed that she would have segments dedicated to her wedding. "I don't like her cuz she talks about her wedding and her man" She admitted that she's had a medical intervention AND that she said this on television interviews w/Larry King. I'm sure transcripts are available. "I don't like her cuz she won't admit how her phatt azz lost weight." She said that she never agreed to this Thursday date. "She so unprofessional and should've left on Thursday like they agreed to." Isn't this like leaving your job before your two weeks notice is up..or not giving one at all? [wonder would people think they shouldn't get another job again if they did that?] . She said that her "mentor" had known for months before she was told, that she was fired. That when she asked about it, Bill said no. And that Barbara called the agent of her "friend" and one the show's "founders" to say that she would be fired...Instead of her calling Star. I'm sure u know all the rest. I've never heard confirmed stories of her drug use, being jailed, ripping people off, raping nobody etc. What I have heard is what she acknowledged on LK AND her supposedly gay husband that everyone dislikes her for marrying. [insert confused look here] Ok, you can not like her because she admitted to using her celebrity to have her wedding and she regrets it. [celebrities getting something free?---fk outta here..that dont'supposed to happen]. So is there no redemption? What you don't like..she apologized. But nothing she did was in violation if ABC policy At All. So, if these are the reasons that u don't like her AND believe that she should've been fired FINE! But to say that she deserves what she got, that her life is now possibly ruined, she shouldn't done her "bosses" this way is ASTONISHING coming from people who def know something about disparate treatment. Star is a lawyer so I'm assuming she knows much about the laws guiding slander/libel. For all the reasons above, I'm choosing to believe her and support the sister in whatever way I can.

Star did indeed create this situation but I believe she will rebound nicely. Of course I agree with Gemami, take some time off - find that house and make some babies (if you can) with the new 'hubby'. Regardless of what happens I bet it will be a long long time before we see either of them in the unemployment line.

Comment: The few times I have watched "The View" the only person I identified with was Star. But since I work, it wasn't a show I felt was worth taping so I never got caught up. Anyway, I will mosey over to Star's website and fire off some e-mails and/or snail mails to ABC folks because the "Star gave us low ratings" nonsense is untrue and a mean-spirited attack on Star. She does need to tone it down, needed to be forthright about her gastric bypass, and needs to shut her trap about that husband, but she is still more interesting and relevant than those other women on "The View" who seem like 'ol hags (including the young one whose name I always forget). And to all of you who think Barbra's hands are clean in all of this mess, you're crazy. She's at fault here, too.

If Barbara Walters didn't audition another Black co-host, you'd have a problem with that -- and now that she is, you seem to question why Black women would. In television, we have what's called "Q" ratings. "Q" ratings measure a person's likability. Every one on TV "Q" ratings (from reporters and anchors to tv hosts). According to ABC, Star's "Q" ratings were in the toilet, and had been for 3 quarters (9 months) - that's a lifetime in TV. So, other Black women shouldn't feel a sense of disloyalty for auditioning to replace someone whse ratings had fallen off. In regular jobs, if someone is fired for not doing their job, why shouldn't other people apply? Star killed her own job. Viewers didn't like the wedding sponsorships; they didn't like her seemingly becoming an expert on marital bliss; and then after her premarital spiritual counseling - she seemed to develop a "holier than thou..." attitude -- those things didn't go over well with viewers.

If Star's "Q" ratings were too low for too long, the producers then conclude that sagging show ratings may be the result of Star's low "Q" numbers, so they'd make a change -- it happens all the time. When you see actors come and go on certain TV shows or certain news broadcasts, it's usually because their "Q" ratings are low, and that can affect the entire show.

Al was an investment banker for Merrill and "they parted ways." If you look at at starandal.com you'll notice they were always on vacation. I don't know any investment banker who gets away that much. Even the top dogs work crazy hours. He may now do some independent financial consulting, but that's tough.

Comment: As one poster so plainly put it "everything is not about race". Sometimes we tend to use the "racecard" as a crutch and we develop a victim mentality of "woe is me look what 'they' did to me". But in reality it is our own choices, actions and behaviors that produced the outcome. It is my opinion that this is the case with Star. Grant it, we all make mistakes, bad choices and decisions. But just because we apologize or admit our wrongdoing doesn't necessarily mean that the consequences of those bad choices will go away. In fact most times they don't. So Star did the first step - she admited she made mistakes and if given the chance would not make the same choices. Now she needs to do step two: accept the consequences of those decisions with grace and dignity. I had been an avid fan of Star's until the infamous "series of events" (Her wedding, the book and her weightloss). In times past what I liked about Star was the fact that she was seemingly honest and forthright. However, the manner in which she "twisted the truth" concerning her weightloss (pilates and diet???) and manipulated to get freebies for her wedding and then topped it all off with "I'm the expert on how to get a 'man'" (having been married for 2 minutes) just didn't set well with me. So it seems plausible to me that ABC is telling the truth about her Q ratings. Now am I saying ABC is the angel in this? Of course not! They were shady in how they handled things too but it's all a business and I fully recognize that. And because of that, I think that Star has made yet ANOTHER BIG mistake for the future of her career in the Entertainment arena. Posting the contact info of the execs and producers...BIG MISTAKE. As a Human Resouces professional I can tell you with assurance new employers DO NOT like a prospective employee who is bitter towards their former employer. It is frowned upon. Star is looking bad and confirming all the things ABC and the rumors regarding her why E! red carpet let her go. She should have stopped after the LK show. She redeemed herself well on there and now this last move tore that down in my opinion.

Comment: Star gets on my nerves. There, I said it. I know her contract wasn't renewed and a lot of folks feel that ABC is racist, but maybe she just wore out her welcome as co-host of the View. Star strikes me as pretentious. Her antics during her wedding were completely unscrupulous and tacky, and at times, she was rude to the guests. I know she's in love and married, but a truly happy woman wouldn't have to go around talking about her husband all the time as if she has no identity without him. Now she's asking people to petition ABC regarding her former job, a job she helped herself lose. She needs to SIT DOWN!

Truthfully, at times they have all been rude but because there was not the drama surrounding them individually - their random acts of rudeness could be forgiven.
