Comment: Good Morning Kings & Queens! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Well kids, my weekend was HELLA busy! I was runnin' 'round like a chicken w/ her head cut off all weekend! My baby boy's 10th b-day party was yesterday at the bowling alley and we had a BLAST! It WAS a surprise until my husband had diarrhea of the mouth! Anywho, we have a wonderful time. Now, for my complaint of the day...what's wrong with y'all cuzzin's? Okay, you know at these kids' parties you've gotta pay for each kid right? Okay, each kid was $13 a-piece, that included 2 hours of bowling, pizza & drinks. How 'bout 2 of my loving cousins brought THEIR friend's kids that neither me nor my son have ever seen before in our life so I had to pay for them too? WTF??? WHY do our people do such ghetto ish like that? (that's a good topic, that'll be my next post) Why the heyell would you bring somebody else's kids knowing good 'n well that me or my son don't know 'em, and expect me to pay for them? I swear, sometimes I'm just too damn nice! One of my cousins brought her boyfriend's lil' boy, but she OFFERED to pay for him and I sho' took the money too! I thought that was nice, so she's added to the 'non-ghettofabulous' list. Actually, it was $13 per kid cuz I wanted them to play an extra hour (it woulda been $10) so the pizza & drinks were extra. How 'bout the pizza's looked like TOMBSTONE pizza's & they were $9 each? This black lady was SOOOO sweet and she gave me 2 free pizzas! How 'bout the pitchers of soda WERE NOT free refills???? Well, Ms. Sweet lady saved the day again & gave me 2 free pitchers of soda. She was such a punkin! So, all & all, I didn't end up spending as much as I thought I would so I'm cool:-) Hey, I missed that Hip-Hop wives thingy, what channel was it on & when did it come on?

HUNTINGTON, New York (AP) -- Benjamin Hendrickson, an Emmy Award-winning actor on the "As the World Turns" soap opera, committed suicide this week with a gunshot to the head, police said.
Suffolk County police officers, called by concerned neighbors to Hendrickson's Long Island home, said they found him dead in his bed on Monday.
Hendrickson, 55, was a member of the first graduating class of the Juilliard School of Drama, along with actors Kevin Kline and Patti LuPone. He appeared on Broadway in the early 1980s as a replacement in the title role of "The Elephant Man" and in the 1984 revival of "Awake and Sing!"
He played Chief of Detectives Hal Munson for more than 20 years on CBS' "As the World Turns," winning a Daytime Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in 2003.
His last air date on the show will be July 12.

Star Jones Reynolds (above) and Rosie O'Donnell (below, with Barbara Walters) first crossed talons back in 2004, when the two 'View' talkers — one coming, one going — clashed in a race debate.
Star Jones Reynolds and Rosie O'Donnell say they used to be friends. But now I can reveal the precise moment when the just-fired and just-hired cohosts on "The View" became sworn enemies.
It was during Rosie's appearance on the May 12, 2004, show. Daily News contributor Jawn Murray dug up the smoking videotape.
The two combatants initially greeted each other warmly before trash-talking like WWE wrestlers. Rosie — who this year harshly mocked Star for less-than-candid explanations of her precipitous weight loss — started with flattery. "You look fabulous!" Rosie gushed. "It's like 'Twinkle Twinkle Shrinking Star.'"
But the chat quickly turned ugly when O'Donnell suggested that women "stand up and scream" to protest Martha Stewart's felony conviction, and former prosecutor Jones Reynolds vehemently objected.
Rosie: "Here's what I love. The black community said you cannot have O.J. Simpson, you cannot have Jayson …"
Star: "No, excuse me! … And if the black people had a vote, they did not tell me."
Rosie: "Honey! Honey, listen to what I'm saying. … The black community said you can't have the basketball player Jayson Williams, you can't have him. …"
Star: "There were two black people on the jury!"
Rosie: "Wait! Wait! Wait! I'm saying that as a culture, and I agree with it, black people have so few role models that they said, 'You know what? I don't care, you're not taking them!'"
Star: "What???! … When did the black vote have a meeting and vote?"
Rosie: "I didn't say you had a meeting, Star!"
The next day on the air, Star scorched O'Donnell: "Although the mainstream media may not collectively report on black role models, trust and believe there are plenty out there, and you don't need to rally behind O.J. Simpson. I mean, that was inappropriate." I hear that Rosie was upset, but Barbara Walters tried and failed to get Star to apologize.
O'Donnell and her flack were unreachable at press time. A spokesman for Star told Lowdown: "We made our last statement regarding this matter on June 29 on the 'Today' show. We have no further comment."

Green was taken to Sinai Hospital. Ravens spokesman Kevin Byrne told WBFF-TV that Green's injury doesn't appear to be serious.
Police said a fight broke out when Green bumped into another bowler. Green tried to break it off and left the bowling alley, but the man came after him and stabbed him in the parking lot.
Green ran after being stabbed, and the attacker tried to chase him down but was unable to do so.
Police have no suspects in the attack. The %*$ailant and the player didn't know each other, police said.
Green, 24, is a third-year player out of Central Missouri State. He played in 16 games last season and had two sacks.

Comment: ASize12, I've watched it since I was 5 years old. Me and my mom would watch it before she took me to kindergarten. She started working when I was in the 1st grade and she would tape it every day while she was at the bank and then we would watch it when we got home and after dinner. When I went to college all of my classes were scheduled around Y&R! It's a sick obsession with me. I feel so left out if I miss an episode. I wasn't sure if they had diagnosed anything official. Poor Vic is either losing his mind or he's putting on a helluva show to trick Jack into something.

I have 31 vacation days but I swear I will not use a vacation/pleasure day for illness. We all keep going in sick, sitting in that incubator they call an office and getting each other sick. I'm going to go sit at my desk, and stare at my wall all day and then come home and get in the bed. I'm from the Kansas side... went to Pleasant Green Baptist and then Our Lady of St. Rose and then Sumner Academy and then the University of Kansas. Once when I broke my ankle, once when I was in Chicago for New Years Even and once when I was literally so sick that I could not stand up. Any other time, we all just go in. Lots of people use their vacation days but I refuse. Vacation is for VACATION.

Comment: Hey Joney! yes, i was there for the taste, I would have eaten myself to death if I had more tickets lol! I also went to the afro-caribbean festival of life in Washington Park. Overall, I liked it, not as much traffic and crowding as Washington DC, pretty clean, easy to get downtown. I went to a cookout in one of the black suburbs, very nice and quiet, can't remember the name. The humidity beat my natural curls to a pulp but the breeze was heavenly! Didn't see any cute guys though except for at the festival and they didn't look professional or high quality...where is Chicago hiding the good ones????

Comment: lovely>before the merger we got 3 personal days, 8 sick days, 15 vacation days (depending on how long you've been with the company) and Summer Fridays in June, July, August - off every other Friday during those months...we are also closed from Christmast to New Years....altogether that was 32 to 35 days a year....thats it...then we merged w/another company.......now we get PTO days (paid time off) you can use them however you want...sick, personal, or vacation....and you only get 15!!! (I get 20 because I've been here 5 years) and they did away with Summer Fridays....we still get the "winter break" but in all I lost about 16 to 18 days a year...i got to start on my own bizness

Comment: oh yeah, how safe is Chicago? I must say I felt pretty good even in some of the questionable areas around Washington park, but maybe that was just my vacation mentality, In DC, Philly, and Baltimore, there's always an air of "yes i'm in a nice place but I still need to be prepared to shove my foot down somebody's throat" asize12< that's great. I have already accepted that I will never own a home here so I'm over it. I'm just on countdown to move. Don't get me wrong, this area is popping, it's lively, plenty of professional people of color, lots of goodlooking men, TOO MUCH TO DO and get into, my only complaint is that there is no space and traffic is unbearable at all times, not just rush hour.

It sounds really nice where you live, you pay for what you get. Our cost of living is fairly reasonable in St. Louis. My house was only $109,500 and it's in a nice neighborhood with my people that are ALL homeowners (that I know of) so everyone's property is very well kept and it's less than 10 min. from my momma's house so I love the location. Hate the school district tho, my kids will be going to their same schools, I'll just take them everyday (my daughter will catch the metrolink).

Foxx popped up on LL's recent Todd Smith LP, and at June's Hot 97 Summer Jam concert, Jamie brought him out as a special guest (see "Where's The Beef? T.I., Busta, Mary J., Diplomats Keep Summer Jam Light On Drama"). The two performed together and Foxx even said he wanted to be LL's hypeman. So what's up with all the love between the onetime adversaries? Foxx said it's just growth.
"I was in Miami at one of the [Heat] games," Academy Award winner Foxx said July 2 at the Essence Music Festival in Houston (see "Mary J., LL Cool J Heat Up Essence Fest, But Bobby Brown Steals Show").
"He had done his thing, got himself together, was selling records," Foxx continued. "It was right after the Oscars. We looked at each other like, 'Why we wasting all this time? Let's get together and do some music, do some movies.' 'Cause I also mentioned to him about black superheroes. I said, 'My man, you the only cat that can really pull this off.' There's this black superhero called Panther. So we started talking about that, did a couple of records together. When you're grown, you don't really have time for all that [beefing]. When you're young, it's cool to have your emotions on your chest. But we're grown now."

Michael Jackson's ex-wife claims the singer owes her a fortune and that she desperately needs money. She says she "sits on the brink of bankruptcy."
TMZ obtained a motion filed by Debbie Rowe, asking a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge to order Jackson to pay her $50,000 in living expenses for the next four months. In the legal papers Rowe claims she needs the money to continue her fight for the custody of the couple's two children. Rowe is also asking for $195,000 in legal fees. Rowe says if she does not get the money to pay her lawyers, she will have to represent herself in the custody battle.

The best things I ate were the tuscan crab cake, the ribs (not from sweet baby rays or whatever, from the all black place), and the turtle cheesecake was indescribable!! asize12< you can't even get a box in DC for 109,000. And I mean that literally. A small rambler that has like 900 sq ft is gonna run you at least 250,000 that that's on the low end of PG County. A 600 sq foot condo in Arlington will run you 600,000.

Comment: YLAWDY>yeah, i remember Jamie talking about this in his standup show, when he and LL was filming "Any Given Sunday" i think they were both starting to smell themselves at the time, but Jamie had to realize that L L been out there a long time way before he started out in music. well. in the stand up show, Jamie stated that there was a scene when he and LL were at the party and it seems that LL really got into his part and hit Jamie for real. of course, Jamie wasn't having it. but i guess they both realized they were both acting kind of childish, which i can see happening between actors/entertainers. so i'm not surprised.

I just spoke to my friend in ATL and she can't wait to get back home (Chicago) for some Garlic Fries and a Gyro. I figure it's just a Chicago thing. Actually it's probably a south suburb thing 'cause I haven't heard of any fast food restaurants selling them in the City. Anyway, Garlic Fries are French Fries fried and then butter and garlic poured over them. They are good, but your breath be stank for days.

The 'Bootlicious' singer is one of several black female stars being considered to play Dylan in a biopic of his life after the director, Todd Haynes, announced he was searching for a woman to do justice to the white Jewish singer's "inner blackness".
Seven actors - including the black woman - will portray Dylan during different eras in his 43-year career, starting in the 1960s when his song, 'The Times They Are Changin' became an anti-war anthem.
Other female stars in line to play Dylan include tennis champion Venus Williams and TV presenter Oprah Winfrey.
Although it is quite common in film biopics for characters to be played by more then one actor, it is extremely rare for them to change sex or race. Haynes, whose previous work has earned him an Oscar nomination, says he wants to hire various actors to take on the role as Dylan was "too complex" to be played by a conventional actor.
He added: "I am setting out to explode the idea that anybody can be depicted in a single self."
