Comment: I watched the show and me and my daugther were wondering if the lady's hair was real. I knew it was her hair. I thought she did well. I watch the view and think that Star was good but she wasn't the whole show. I like the "Hot Topics" and still will watch wheather Star is on there are not. I really feel like Star bought this on herself. This is Barbara's show and she can do whatever she wants.

Now I don't watch the show but someone said they did the same thing to Brandy. Comment: This is so funny! Obviously no one watches the show. What happened was at the end of the show, Barbara says that Rosie O was in the control room learning about the show and that she had a question. She wanted to know how Tanika gets her hair like that. So, Tanika explains that its basically wash and go hair and its easy and she's laughing about how she's lazy about doing her hair etc. That's when BW took it upon herself to start touching her hair. But, it just looked like she was searching for something as she kept at it and going towards the roots not just the tips. I thought Tanika did well in keeping her composure because it was as if she were checking to see if her hair was real. Anyway, that's what happened.

Well, I think she's smart and I love the way she would correct people on African-American subject but I still think she put viewers off. I really truly feel that it was the off show stuff that caused her to lose her job.

She asked Tanika if her hair was real and before she could even answer, she began pulling as if she were trying to remove a wig!! Good thing her hair was real. But what if it had been a wig?!

Tanika actually said "oh she's pulling on it" if it wasn't real so what?! Rosie was inthe control room why is she worried about how she gets her hair like that, that's not a question that needed to be asked on air and yte women wear wigs and weaves as well. a black woman can't have curly hair or what?!

Comment: You have to understand some of the deeper reasons why a lot of white women are preoccupied with our hair and whether it's real or not. So preoccupied that they actually touch to see for themselves. You see, a lot of them have a set image of HOW our hair is SUPPOSED to look to them, especially in regards to length and texture. Long, flowing straight locks are something they equate with them. So when they see a sister with LONG hair, braided or not, or hair that is a texture other than extremely kinky, they feel they have the RIGHT to investigate and see what the real deal is. I really don't think a sister who came on with a short kinky fro would be subject to all that offensive hair searching because her hair would fit the image of what they think all Black women's hair should look like. Of course, we know this is not true because there are lots of sisters who have long and/or naturally straight hair.
