Comment: now everybody know you can't mess with no country boy

Comment: Or a prayin' one! He always ends his show with encouraging people to pray and acknowledge God.... not preaching, just encouragement to talk to God....

Comment: say what you want to about Steve Harvey I love his show. I listen to it every morning and teust me it is hilarious. He will make you bust your guts. Let me warn you his shoe might not be for someone who has surgery and have some stitches because you will bust the stitches, just wait until you get them taken out and then listen to his show. It is very unlifting and Jaxkee Reid is an added incentive to the show as well as his nephen Tommy. They make a great team. I love it!!

Comment: He probably is very good, but I be damned if that ain't one ugly azz picture of Steve!...CTFU!!!!

Comment: Disclaimer... I'm not hatin'! BUT, that was just what happened in L.A. He started out great, then he started to believe the hype (kinda like Star Jones) and he started getting on people's nerves. Talkin' about his money his homes, his cars, what he can afford, what you can't afford etc... Eventually, I could barely stomach listening to the show. HOPEFULLY, it won't be the same story in NYC. By the way, I catch him occasionally on 93.5 KDAY here in L.A and it seems as if he's taking it back to the beginning, so there's hope.

Comment: Hey, CrenshawQueen.... I didn't hear his LA show so I don't know what he was like before. I know he's doing really well in Detroit where I listen. Maybe he's been humbled from that experience and some other life experiences, e.g., divorce. Hope he keeps doing well.

Comment: I have to listen to him in KC because I can't get Tom Joyner in my office. I must say, I'm not a fan of Steve Harvey on the radio. He does a fantastic job hosting award shows but 4 hours of him every morning is a bit much. He plays the same handful of songs every single day. He talks about his money and his furs and his vacations and his this and that. He puts his nephew down all the time and he talks to Jackie Reed like she's a child. And then there's poor little gay Eugene -- he treats him worse than you'd treat a dog. Steve yells (his version of singing) at the end of songs. He talks to celebrities and somehow always manages to turn the interview back to focus on his life/success. It's just too much that early in the morning. I'm ready for our "Breakfast Brothers" to come back. It's too hard to edit out Steve and only listen to Jackie & Tommy.

Comment: This man annoys me to no fuvkin end...

Comment: I think the verdict is still out in DC. Steve replaced a morning team (George Wilburn, Tony and T.C.)that had a lot of fanbase in DC, MD & VA. I still can't get into his country azz! I want the old 96.3 WHUR morning team back!!!

Comment: SO PEOPLE DONT THINK NY'ERS HAVE LOST THEIR DARN MINDS REMEMBER NO ONE LIKES MS. JONES AND STAR IS GONE. SO NO WONDER HE'S NUMBER #1

Name: Hollyhood
Comment: I am so glad that Steve left LA the way he did. He was ugly and funky and rude on his last couple of days on the air. And I believe thats who he truly is. All that spirital stuff is just hype. I hated to hear him, and I refuse to even listen to the station that now has him back on out here. I even turn the volume down when he's on the award shows. He's so stuck on himself.

Name: Lovely
Comment: DCGG -- I feel you! He yells and he treats everyone bad but since he does the 6 spiritual minutes at the beginning of the show and the 4 spiritual minutes at the end of the show that's supposed to erase all the negativity he sends out the remaining 3 hours and 50 minutes. Tommy is hilarious to me but whenever Steve sees Tommy shining, he has to cut him off and put him down.

Name: Gurlfrand
Comment: >Crenshaw - yeah, he does that a lot. he's fine until he starts "dropping names" of folks in the business that he's friends with, and what he drives, and how many acres of land he lives on, etc, etc. - i'm glad that he has realized his dreams and all, it just sounds funny when you start talking about all your material possessions on a dopey morning radio show.

Comment: We saw him at the airport in Houston and he was such an azzhole! My friend was really cordial and told him he did a great job hosting the Essence Fest and he just blew her off big time. Then he had the audacity to wave bye as he drove off in the airport buggy, I just gave him the finger. He is such a punk azz. I could see if she was going crazy asking for an autograph or picture but she's older and was just being friendly. He was very rude and you should have seen the look on his face when I gave him the finger. LOL

Comment: lol@stephanie U gave steve harvey the finga CLASSIC!!

Name: Jennifer1913
Comment: I used to listen to him at the Beat in LA also - he started off funny and then went south like the other posters said. He does brag too much about what he has, who he knows, etc. that gets tired real fast. And yes, that's funny giving him the finger LOL!!!!! I remember when he was struggling in St. Louis and my friends and I had to take him around because he didn't have a car!

Name: Lovely
Comment: Has anyone else noticed that Steve talks down to Jackie because she's educated? Whenever he doesn't understand something, he attacks it or dismisses it. He's just not funny to me on his morning show.

Name: SpecialK
Comment: Jackie Reed seems out of her element on his show. Its sorta like she's dumbing down a bit! Just my opinion!

Name: chryshelisonline
Comment: I'm with the other L.A. posters, especially CrenshawQueen. I'm of the same opinion. I've tried listening to KDAY in the mornings, mainly because they just can't seem to get it right in the mornings, but also because if Steve's show can't boost ratings then the radio station might bite the dust. The signal is weak though...it's hard to listen to. L.A. radio in general is diluted now. The only truly independent station, KJLH, has two irritating morning hosts. I find myself flipping between 3-4 stations because all I really want is the music. Steve Harvey, Tom Joyner, Clear Channel, Radio One...you can have 'em all. I'm getting satellite radio.

Comment: I am surprised at the results. I hope he continues. However, I really don't like his show at all. Listening to Steve talk is extremely annoying. I'd drive my car over a cliff before I listened to him for 4 straight hours. Unfortunately, there aren't many options in the NY market. To my surprise, I think Steve's show is better than his rival at KSFM (Jeff Fox and the Wake up Club)> That show is VERY TIRED.. makes you want to go back to bed. All they do are crank calls.

Name: thechocolate10
Comment: NJBLKGUY> i didnt even mention KISS they been corny since the early 90's but i do love Talent! Shala and JeffFoxx make me wanna hurl!!!!!!!!!!!!

Name: Lovely
Comment: SpecialK, I agree that Jackie is dumbing it down but I still think she's smarter than Steve.

Name: Angel
Comment: I listen to Steve's show between 8 and 8:30 to hear the strawberry letter. That part of the show is always funny.

Name: TMan
Comment: Funny comments. I agree he is not the best on-air personality out here. The show sounds like they don't even know what they're doing on many days. I am not crazy about the way he treats Jacquie either. I agree it seems she has to be less than herself in front of him on the show. I wonder why she is there when they have another lady doing the news anyway. She could do better. He is an example of someone you either will like or not like. I don't think his Star Power is that great but apparently ABC Radio does and apparently so does he. I was never crazy about him either, and I thought he treats his guests on his variety shows like crap, Apollo days too - the folks who auditioned. The changes in radio though by them going with him doesn't surprise me though because it is obvious they are trying just about anything for radio sales and ratings. Urban AC Radio right now is still going for Star Power as hosts and the friends they can bring on from the biz. Another phase of radio changes. If he was a regular dude there is now way he would be on because of his radio talent. No Way. I hear too many mistakes on the daily that take it back to Radio 101. I am not convinced his show will last in all the markets they have including DC but I respect his struggle to make it as an entertainer etc. The Eugene character I think is actually Nephew Tommy doing a voice. On another tip, the Hip Hop stations are going with a lot of young folks who sound like amateurs too so go figure. Black Radio continues to be dumbed down with a rare few exceptions.

Name: TMan
Comment: BTW, the Strawberry Letter segments are too much to me. They are overkilling that! In the mornings I don't wanna hear all that relationship stuff unless you have a trained professional head doctor on to help them through it. But just reading the letters over and over again and then everybody just gives their opinions? I don't think that great about it. I think they are doing that segment way too much. I aint saying they have to eliminate it, just cut back on it for all our sakes. Who has time to listen to all those relationship problems between 6a and 10a, one of the most if not the most busiest time of the day in America? LOL!

Name: TMan
Comment: Lovely, excellent points! Doing the positive prayer at the beginning and end of the show is nice but what good is it if you treat everybody like crap in between that four hrs for no good reason at all? On another tip, Its one thing to think you are hot shyt. Its another thing for the world to know you are hot shyt. But it's another thing to think you are hot shyt, you are being syndicated in more cities each month, people may know who you are, but in their minds you are not as hot as the shyt as you think you are in your head, yet you act like it.

Comment: Say it Specialk and ms eugene needs to go into one mad read on his butt. Plus Tommy is funnier

Name: PlanetRock
Comment: Remember the "Three Cool Cats Plus One" episode of the Looney Tunes? You know, the three little pigs plus the big bad wolf trying to play bebop music in the nightclub. Doesn't that photo of Steve Harvey look just like that? :)

Name: Angel
Comment: Awww T-Man - I love the Strawberry Letter, but I only listen to Steve's show between 8 and 8:30 (on my way to work), so I probably don't catch the entire segment. I also just started listening a few weeks ago, so I may be saying the same thing in a few months.

Name: Lovely
Comment: ANGEL, trust us on this... give it a few more weeks and let the newness wear off. You'll find Steve to be just as annoying as the rest of us. TMAN, I think Eugene is a real person. His picture was on the website a few weeks ago. He's a big old tall guy and wears a sweater tied around his neck trying to be Alex P Keaton.

Name: TMan
Comment: Lovely, ok, u might be right - i just notice I never hear them both talkin at the same time! lol! i will listen again. "His name is butterfly pussycat swallow tail!" LOL.

Name: EdnaMae
Comment: I like Steve Harvey's humor, but, just don't get him as a waiter or waitress, a girl frind of mine did in Palm Springs a few years ago, $250 check and he left $20 after running her raggedy and looking like a runaway slave! His wife was nice about it and left more after he left, so, someone had some home training!

Name: TAZBABY
Comment: I like Steve Harvey and I am glad he is back on the radio in L. A. I just choose to ignore his bragging because it does get on my nerves but he cracks me up more than he irritates me and he brings back so many memories of my childhood. You can listen to Steven in L. A. on www.935kday.com.

Comment: You know, I remember when, Steve, and Bernie Mac, were very good friends, at one time. But Bernie, found out Steve was talking bad about him to a producer, who wanted Bernie for a Film. Do you all remember that? There is probably some truth, to all this "Nayser's" business. Check it out for yourself. And I know the Mac, personally, he would not go off on you unless, he really had a good reason. And Steve Harvey, got catch, with his hand in the cookie jar. The producer, told Bernie, about what happen, and what was said about him. Now what kinda of Friend would do that? Especially, if you suppose to believe in "God". Sounds, like Steve is serving two masters, here. You either hate one, are love the other. This is what the bible say's in Matthew. That was the end of the "Kings of Comedy". Bernie, said he would never, appear again on stage, or anything else with Steve Harvey. So, if Steve every read this, he does needs to check his ego, at the door. There is enough talent and comedy, to go around. God bless you all and keep you safe in the arms of Jesus.
