Comment: B smith had a TV show and a magazine but neither lasted, although I understand she re-surfaced on TVOne. Everyone checks out the competition -- B smith should be flattered. Her magazine was quite good -- just ahead of it's time.

Comment: AGreed. However, dont thik her show was ahead of it's time...I think it didnt get enough clearance in syndication as well as the fact that not many people know her nationally....I know her from NY...her restaurant is fab....she would make a great host on the view....

Comment: I definately prefer Martha over B. Smith. When I first saw her I thought wow a finally a black Martha Stewart, i was really excited. Then, after watching her shows on TV One, I thought they were not interesting and really boring. At least Martha has famous guess that talks about their career. She also has great recipes and crafts. I agree with Teigh everyone should check out the competition. Keep trying B. Smith, because you are very creative. Maybe the restaurant thing is your nitch.

Comment: A 9 year old bone to pick...B Smith sit your azz down somewhere - Martha Stewart ain't stuttin your azz...what she needs to do is get some half way decent food in her damn restaurants...

Comment: i used to watch b.smith in nyc at 6am her show was good but she is about as exciting as paint dry. martha has alil more umfp to her. yes B. restaurants are great. I wish her luck

Comment: I absolutely LOVE BSmith! I think she would be a perfect choice, however she does have too much class for the View. I went to her restaurant in DC and was so impressed with the service and the food. I think she's 10 times better than Martha Stewart and I like her show on TV One. If this is what she wants, then I hope she gets it. I'd start watching the View just because of her.

Comment: DCGG, Why do you seem to comment on every post about everybody with nothing but hate? Maybe your doing it to get a rise out of people but enough already! One thing we can say is, I'm almost certain B Smith is doing a whole helluva lot better than you! You just always bring such negative vibes to every board you post on. Your life can't be that bad and if it is, see a therapist. Damn

Comment: B. Smith seems too classy to sit wit them hags every day ... as for beef with Martha I think the media has created the illusion of it being more of a beef as opposed to healthy competition ... The mainstream media has never given B her shine and she can set a table even better than Martha and has more personality in doing her thang

Name: Priceless
Comment: I know everyone has different tastes, but the one time I went to B. Smiths in DC I vowed that would be the last time ... I had the BBQ ribs and them shyts were so tough when I tried to break them apart one of them flipped onto the floor .... CTFU! I was so glad I wasn't on a date, but just having dinner with one of my girlfriends ... CTFU@DCGG u ain't stuttin that, huh?

Comment: Why is Robin Givens stank azz stil talking about her marraige to Mike Tyson? They were married when I was a junior in college in my the late 80's and I'm 41 now. My wife told me she was on Oprah last year talking about Mike. She should just let it go and move on...her and her stupid azz mama.

Name: ladylove
Comment: i like both of them. that would be a great thing for the view to have, another well educated sister about her craft. that would be interesting to see.

Name: Gurlfrand
Comment: I liked B's magazine, but, not her t.v. shows - she was boring and had no personality at all.

Name: OSUN
Comment: Train, if you saw the view, you would know that Robin didn't bring up the convo, those boring non researching hags, particularly BWalters brought that up. I think you would be proud of Robin for sticking up for the Cannibal Rapist when Joy Behar dissed him. Let it go brother it is going on almost 2 decades. RElax relate release.

Comment: OK...is this the auditions for the 'minority' slot on the View? Since Rosie was identified to join the View, I quit following the show, although I couldn't miss the Star drama, but have only Black women been rotated to that slot? Here is a suggestion I have for the slot...Paula Dean from the Food Network! She would be perfect!

Name: ATLGirl
Comment: I think Robin talks about Mike, because everyone asks her about Mike. She doesn't have much in the way of an acting career going on right now. People in the public eye, past and present, are often reduced to a single soundbite, video clip or moment from their careers. Robin's been reduced to the moment she revealed to Babara Walters that Mike abused her. Eddie Murphy's been reduced to picking up a transvestite. Dave Chappelle been reduced to running away from Comedy Central after signing a $50 million contract. Star Jones been reduced to her tacky wedding to a man of questionable sexual orientation. The list goes on and on....

Name: khufu
Comment: Yeah I refrained from saying that but B. Smith's show was boring....

Name: Teigh
Comment: B. Smith does not outright own her restaurants -- they are licensing deals (at least the original location in NYC was). There was loads of drama and she had to leave -- the structure might be more towards a partnership with the three that now sport her name, NYC, Sag Harbor, and DC.

Name: katee
Comment: Totally agree with OSUN and ATLgirl. And, Robin was terrific on The View. She is adorable, talented, funny, and smart. I think she would be a perfect fit. And like everyone said, Robin didn't bring up Mike, but she always handles the subject with grace and humor. And about Robin's career, she was recently on Broadway in Chicago. But, she's a mom of two sons so her first priority is being a great parent. And remember folks, she's not hard up for money.

Name: DCGG
Comment: Stephanie (**long drawn out sigh**) this is becoming a regular occurence...anyway here goes...you know what FOCK YOU right up your pathetic azz...I comment the way I felt like commenting, if you don't likey to mofo bad...I get sick and tired of batches tellin me how I should post...do you batch and let me do me...

Name: 2ndChance
Comment: I'm all for sisters coming up but I do not want to see B. Smith on The View...... I loved Robin as co-host. She looked beautiful and took up for Mike on several occasions.

Name: Train
Comment: My wife tvo'd the interview that she did on Oprah and she was married to him in the 1980's which was a helluva long time ago. That's why she has to chase the whiteboys because to the average brothas she's nothing but a biyyyyyaaaaaattcchhhhh.

Name: Stephanie
Comment: DCGG, That really goes to show your IQ level because never once did I call you out of your name and I can't really address you calling me out of mine because I don't know you and hatred and hostility for everything and everyone is something I don't feed into. Your just making yourself sound like a bitter azz person. Do you ever have any good days?

Name: OSUN
Comment: Train, why would she want the average brotha anyway. They average brotha would probably still have your same mind frame. She would want a brotha who understands the trials and tribulations of living with cannibalistic wife beater. Release it my man. Besides, she probably is like Tina Turner. It appears that Ike soured Tina on Black men, I am sure the same goes for any black woman insane enough to date/marry Tyson.

Name: OSUN
Comment: Stephanie, let it go. It is a lost cause. Just skip over his posts like most do. I was informed that he was a man. I know, it confuses the picture even more doesn't it.

Name: VickiE
Comment: The set on B Smith's show was just too bright and not homey enough. The production sucked. It looked like a cheap imitation of Martha's show. If she really was going to do it right it should have been more like HGTV's "The Barefoot Contessa". All I learned from watching B Smith was that she had a restauarant and she spent an inordinate amount of time telling us that.

Comment: Hey you posters that are going at each other. I can only assume we are all African American and come to this website to read about Black entertainers and post our comments. Let's all agree to NOT attack each other regardless of our dislike of what is posted. So, long as it's not directed at you personally, that's fine. Public figures can't sue when someone makes negative comments about them because it comes with the territory. If they are that fragile then they will evaporate from the scene faster than Cristal at a Jay-Z party. So, let's just let the comments roll. I would hate to think that anyone on the site would feel the need to censor themselves because of what some may think. I do believe we still do have the right to speak our opinion, even if it offends some.

Comment: A television show screws a Black woman out of her contract, back stabs her and then hires an additional cast member to join the show and yet Black women are still clamoring over the one seat at that table that they've set aside for a Black azz. I like Mrs. B. Smith. I doubt seriously that she is mad at Martha for checking out her booth nine years ago but the media thrives on mess. I am surprised at the many posters who found Ms. Smith's show boring. Martha Stewart has the brain of a CEO but the personality of a rock and most- if not all of her shows- are boring to me. I would like to see Millie Jackson get the replacement job. She could handle the women of the VIEW.

Name: blackdiamondleo
Comment: I would love to see that combination even though I'm not home to watch.

Name: cornbread
Comment: f-ck the view and everybody on that b-tch.

Name: justmythoughts
Comment: Harrieet...Girl you know that they couldn't handle MS. MILLIE JACKSON!!!!

Name: TMan
Comment: I think we need to get out of the thinking of "she's a Black this"or "he's a Black that." Change your thinking. When somebody out here says "so and so is a black version of whoever" it sounds dated. When you are really conscious you stop describing whoever like that. Another thing is most all good and great things you see white people do on film tv movies etc. a black person did it first already but just never go the credit. My mother is a cook supreme, has gone to the restaurant in DC and she said B. Smith could cook better then Martha Stewart on any day and B. Smith has more class and style and sophistication to boot. On The View topic, I feel like we are all being taken for a ride. I would not be surprised to find out Baba Wawa and ABC are parading all these Black women to come and auditon on the show just to cool and smooth things over with Black viewers and also so it can never be said they didn't look for another Black replacement. I think they are doing it for that reason. I think they have already decided who it is they want and i wouldn't be surprised they aren't Black. This is how big television works, They know a lot more peple are watching them right now. Onto the subject of Baba Wawa running her fingers thru all these black Womens hair, she is acting typical of white people who feel they can pick, prod and pawn at black people like we are some creature there for them to do with what they wish. It's conditioned racism and bigotry too. Did Wawa pick at Robyn's hair too?
