Comment: Being a Navy man myself I felt so proud seeing this movie when it came out. Hopefully the youngsters out there will look elsewhere for heroes instead of just ballplayers and rappers. This gentleman actually accomplished something.

Comment: Condolences to family. I was so proud of this man when I saw the movie. His determination through all the adversities is something to instill pride in all of us. I am also a veteran and saw just a bit of what he went through with the racism (vietnam era). These are people our children need to know about. It's always the sme heroes that they speak of.

Comment: I had the pleasure of meeting Carl in the early 90's. He told me that Bill Cosby was interested in financing a movie about his Navy career. He was very dapper and a very nice man. He had the cleanest car I ever saw. I could spot it anywhere because it was always sparkling like it had just come off the showroom floor. I was so proud when the movie was finally released. Rest in Peace my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
