Funny how stories like this about the actions of a Black MAN, and Denzel Washington writing a check for the entire cost of constructing two rehabilitation facilities for our returning injured soliders in Maryland, get little to no national coverage. But a story about an ignorant boy getting caught with some dope in his car warrents worldwide media coverage. Anyway's, big up's Sgt. Lord knows we need more true men in our community and Sgt. Comment: Hmmm... This is a bit confusing. If they had decided to include that particular rescue in the movie, it had to be a big deal back then and they had to consult with the rescued police officers to get the details. So how did they got the race wrong. It's not as if Jason is light skinned.

I heard Oliver Stone say he was trying to make it as authentic as possible....thats BS....on another note...the young lady that was pulled last from the rubble has an awesome testimony... i heard her speak at Brooklyn Tabernacle a year after 9/11 and her story is incredible.

As said his story and many like his should be told... for me the 911 tragedy has always been white when there are Blacks who helped with rescue, Blacks who lost their lives and Black families that are constantly living with this tragedy... why aren't their stories being told. I will not go see this film on bootleg.

Comment: I Was just listening to Michael Dyson on talk radio. He was tearing a new butt whole for Oliver Stone and company. Stellababy you are correct. In New York how could there be no black folks involved? Sgt. Thomas probably felt he was doing what came naturally to him; to safe guard a life with no thought to the color. Coming forward for glory probably wasn't first and foremost in his mind. If there are any folks on this web who know Sgt. Thomas tell him he has our utmost respect.

Comment: I agree w/detroitgee. Oprah needs to have Sgt. Thomas on her show, especially when she sat her azz up there a couple of years ago talkin about she didn't know what a "hot link" was!!! She needs to score some "brown"ing points with me. If she lets him come on her show, and tell his story w/out interrupting him a thousand time, I might let her "back in the crew", but for now F*** Oprah and her phony azz!!!!

Comment: HOOORAH - To Sgt. Thomas, this man is truly commendable, not only did he do what was called of him in the time of a disaster he didn't do it for public recognition... There are great men of valor still among us...... Once again I commend Sgt. Thomas.... NOW OLIVER STONE!!!!!!! I just don't understand.. Please please please now that once the two victims were pulled from the debris & rubble, they were definately not just sat to the side of the street, I am sure that Sgt. Thomas or Staff Sgt. Karnes had to summon for the medics help and therefore the medics along with the victims (although in shock I am sure) could have given the nationalities of the rescuers.... Oliver Stone face it you wanted to make this movie as authentic as possible, until you had to cast a AFRICAN AMERICAN as a HERO...... Oliver Stone, you have to come with a better lie then this and don't even bother APOLOLYING to Sgt. Thomas if your not sincere!!!!!!

Comment: this is what the powers that be do.. change history to suit them...why was the hero in the movie white? this was just 5years ago... you mean to tell me they really didn't know the hero was black???...if they can change history that was made just 5years ago...image the history books spanning hundreds of years....an image paints a 1000 words...image if that movie showed the hero of one of the greatest catastrophes in American history as a black man.....
