Comment: I was waiting for this - this man's music has a unique freshness that I enjoy. Of course the first time I heard it I thought something was wrong with him but I bought the cd anyway and listen to it often.

Comment: Okay I'll get a bunch of shyt for this but who gives a fuvk - John Legend is another Steven Wonder/Donny Hathaway wannabe..ain't shyt refreshing or new about his singing...that first album was some bullshyt cept for that Steve Wonder remake of "ordinary people" - personally speaking Rashaan Patterson can sing and has a refreshing and unique style...I'll await his album instead...

Comment: I gotta agree, *checking forehead for temperature* John Legend is a reincarnation of something that's been done before by many different people..AND that's okay. I applaud the man's success. But, his performances leave too much to be desired. I think he is one of those persons who would fare much better if he just "sang" and stop trying to do all these vocal gymnastics. It just doesn't work for him

Comment: DCGG, I can see what you mean, I guess it's hard to be influenced by someone and carve out a totally new style for yourself. I think about India.Arie and how much I hear Stevie Wonder in her music. I did like Rahsaan Patterson's After Hours CD. I thought he'd retired after Love in Stereo.

Comment: I like John Legend, but his performances turn me off. He looks ugly when he performs, his mouth, eyes, all become contorted and I focus more on that than the music. Somebody should tell him to just keep it simple when he sings.
