Comment: when it's all said and done, this brother will go down in history as one of the greatest actors ever

Name: prettieyez
Comment: I love to see him in movies. But most of the time he's playing a bad guy. Except for The Four Brothers he was a good guy. But I still love him!!! I really liked him in The Best Man (that's one of my most favs). I didn't know as a child he was deaf for a minute (I read it in Essence earlier this year). He said that's why he's always staring directly into peoples mouths because he would read their lips.

Comment: terrence plays thurgood marshall well how will he handle being on the other side of the magic stick thurgood threaten to leave martin luther king in the wind for being close with a fag . terrence wife left him because of his own girl on girl action now he'll be the accuser . thurgood accused martin that he corretta house bombed because he wanted to clear the way for bayard rustin will they put that in the film dirt off the shoulders guys

Comment: Well, i myself admire Terrence Howard. he's a brilliant actor and i hope one day he will get the Oscar he deserves. i love his way of really fitting into a character he portrays in that time period. when he played in Lackawanna Blues, he put me in the mind of the old photos my mama and daddy had of them from back in the day when they were young. so whatever role Terrence Howard plays, he's a perfect fit for it. you go man!

Name: Merd325
Comment: He's going to look gooood in that 1930's attire.

Name: khufu
Comment: MERD..kind of reminds me of Phillip Michael Thomas in Book of Numbers from the 70s

Name: bigchassie
Comment: MERD>ummhumm.he sure will.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: MERD> Ving Rhames is the same way.

Comment: It can't be denied that Terrence Howard is a wonderful actor. I just need him to step way out of the box and do something different. He seems to always play some slick character and I'm tired of seeing him do that. He was slick in "The Best Man," "Lackawanna Blues," "Idlewild," "Hustle and Flow;" I just want to see him really step out. I liked who he was in "Crash," but even in "Four Brothers" there was a slickness to him even as a good guy. I am definite he's on his way to getting his Oscar though. And though it's pointless to comment on because white folks don't recognize our films, he definitely deserved an award for the character he played in The Best Man. He was excellent in that.

Comment: Barbaraodom9, that mess doesn't have anything to do with the fact that Terrence Howard is a fine and talented actor. I'm pleased that someone of his caliber has been chosen to portray Thurgood. He will give the role the depth that it deserves. As for his personal life, if you don't have any solid evidence, you are just repeating ugly rumors. As for Martin Luther King, Jr., history has shown that his dalliances were with women, not Bayard Rustin.

Name: Dovelyone
Comment: ...and he continued to be FIONE! LOL! I thought I read in that Essence article that he would stare like that because he experienced some kind of paralysis in his face that was unexplained when he was a teenager...but that it went away.

Name: JamerDelta
Comment: >>gingerg, did you actually understand what Barbaraodom9 said?????? LOL Anyway, I like Terrence. There is something about that man that is mesmerizing. I believe as well that he will win an Oscar one day. He is very talented.

Name: gingerg
Comment: I was trying to peice that mess together as best I could. She/he don't want to get me started this morning about a Terrence Howard. That's my boy!

Name: Gemami
Comment: barbaraodom9, what you've been sitting back waiting for the right time to write that nonsense??? Anyway, I agree Terrence is a wonderful actor.

Name: clotel
Comment: Terrence Howard is a serious actor who would also shine on stage as well, especially in an August Wilson epic. He reminds me of Jeffrey Wright, another phenomenal brotha who does not get enuf respect. (He was also in "Lackawanna...") One of the best movies I have seen Howard in is "Lackawanna Blues" - this is an EXCELLENT portrayal of Black love, commitment and community.

Name: missgee
Comment: I hate the fact that his father instilled in him that his own people were not to be trusted, when in fact his dad went to jail because he killed a white man who was beating him down because he thought his dad was a white man with a black women and kids.

Name: gingerg
Comment: Who said his father instilled that in him? Terrence Howard is a natural when it comes to depicting black culture/men. He has the aura and looks to boot!

Name: MidtownATL
Comment: >Merd325 - Can you see it in your mind? Dayum, dayum, dayum!!!

Name: indipindintthnkr
Comment: Luv me some Slickback! THUMP! *kicks DMX to the curb*

Name: McNasty
Comment: Barbaraodom WTH are you talking about? Gingerg you understood that? Jeez louise if you're going to post at least let others understand what you're saying. You might have had a point or at the very least a good post but next time do it without tokin' the doobie first.lmao

Name: McNasty
Comment: Co sign clotel. Jeffrey Wright played that mildly crazy man in Lackawanna Blues - he's had several notable roles. One where he played a hispanic and the hispanic community hit the ceiling but the movie was a hit anyway - I can't remember the name, just that this is another slept on brother in hollywierd.

Name: gingerg
Comment: Jeffrey Wright has a key role in the upcoming 007 flick, Casino Royale.

Name: Merd325
Comment: McNasty> he played a hispanic in Shaft with Samuel Jackson. He was too much, he had this certain sway when he walked, and his hairline was totally different from when he played Martin Luther King in "Boycott" I didn't even recognize him. My brother had to tell me who he was. He was good in both movies.

Name: ShayLady
Comment: Deb70, I agree! Terrence brought life to The Best Man. It was really just another typical, boring movie until his character showed up. I found myself screaming "More! More!" I think he's well beyond supporting Jodie Foster (washed up one trick pony) and Richard Gere (overrated and unlikable). But, such is Hollywood. Their obvious racism is starting to look more and more like fear everyday. As for great Black actors, if you haven't already, check out the 4400, there is a Black actor on there who plays a character named "Richard" (sorry, don't know his real name) he is brilliant!

Name: Bookman
Comment: That was Jeffery Wright in Shaft, not Terrence Howard. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0162650/

Name: detroitgee
Comment: The article said Terrence will be in a supporting role, thats funny. Every movie I have seen him in his character steals the spotlight. His roles in Crash and even The Best Man were supporting but so imporant.

Name: Merd325
Comment: Hey Bookman: I was referring to McNasty question. He wasn't sure what movie Jeffery Wright played in, when he played a hispanic and I said the movie Shaft.

Name: Bookman
Comment: Hey Merd325 , No problem - y'all keep the good posts coming. They make my dull lunch hour entertaining!

Name: FineBrown
Comment: Wow..just read an article with him in ELLE magazine (March 2006) and he talks about how he let his wife go..you gotta read the article..it is smoove (with a "v")..the man's personality is so warm...I was at the salon, looking at the Terrence's pictures, and my stylist (a man) was also checking him out..next thing I know, Roberta Flack walks in..

Name: bigchassie
Comment: GINGERJ>CASINO ROYALE. when is that comming out and who is playing in it? (wonder who is playing 007?)

Name: bigchassie
Comment: FINEBROWN> Roberta Flack walks in the Salon where you were?? wow, i bet that made for an interesting afternoon/evening. back to mr Terrence. yeah my sister has the wheyt draws for him, lol! she loves everything about Terrence Howard. is he still seeing that chick?

Name: fairydust777
Comment: I can't wait to see Terrence Howard play Thurgood Marshall.. finally some good movies that have compelling stories. I would like to see Terrence do something with Denzel or Larry Fishburne.... they are all powerful actors!!!!

Name: gingerg
Comment: What does he mean he let his wife go? In Essence, he talked about how long it took him to get back in after the first falling out. I don't care what anyone says, B's performance on the BET Awards left him starstruck and well on his way back out the door. That said, he's still my boy.

Name: gingerg
Comment: I don't know when it is coming out, Big Chassie. Sometime in the next several months. 007 is being played by ome English actor that everybody hates. They still want Pierce Brosnan.

Name: McNasty
Comment: LMAO! MERD325 McNasty is a beautiful 40 something black woman.

Name: McNasty
Comment: FineBrown Terrence should have left that question alone. After they reconciled for the umpteenth time she up and left him to go back to her highschool sweetheart.

Name: Merd325
Comment: McNasty> Sorry about that...So am I. LOL

Name: gingerg
Comment: I thought he was her high school sweetheart! Also, all of this type away from home on set can create problems within a marriage/relationship. I guess it's a trade off.

Name: McNasty
Comment: Her high school sweetheart was white like she is.

Name: gingerg
Comment: She must be crazy. I'd have to hang in there with Terrence.

Name: gingerg
Comment: Where do people get this from - marrying and having a houseful of kids with someone - then falling in love with their high school sweetheart again 40 years later?

Name: MzTee
Comment: I like Terrence Howard. He's come a long way from bit parts in sitcoms and dramas and little known movies like "Sunset Park" and "Butter." Glad to know he's receiving his due. I agree with the other posters who wrote it's time for Jeffrey Wright to receive his due. He has been amazing in everything I've seen him in. ====> bigchassie and gingerg...Daniel Craig is the British actor who has been chosen to take over the 007 role. The main reason Bond fans were/are in an uproar is because they wanted the next 007 to match the description the creator of the series, Ian Fleming, established, which is tall, dark-haired, and ruggedly handsome. Craig is average height, blond, and not very attractive so Bondites are losing their minds. Despite that, old boy is a good actor. Check him out in a British flick called "Layer Cake."

Name: CrzyLdy16
Comment: do y'all remember when he was in Sparks, Sparks, & Sparks?

Name: gingerg
Comment: MzTee: Butter was a mess. I was so busy looking at Shemar that I didn't even see Terrence.

Name: missgee
Comment: gingerg, Terrence Howard said it in an article I read on him.

Name: Atlanta2cents
Comment: Speaking of Jeffrey Wright - he IS one of the most under rated actors out there. If anyone saw HBO's "Angels in America", he played a gay male nurse. I hardly recognzied him. That's the sign of a great actor. Jeffrey becomes the character he playing. He should have an Oscar one day.
