She hasn't made the best choices in the last five or so years, but once upon a time she was somebody and we seem to have forgotten that. For Whitney it's like: WHEN I DO SOMETHING RIGHT, NO ONE REMEMBERS, BUT WHEN I DO SOMETHING WRONG, NO ONE FORGETS. Let's not forget that she was not always addicted and her addiction does not negate her past accomplishments. Life is a journey, not a destination. Whitney is more than her drugs, and when she gets it together, God will get the glory, because only God's grace can save us from sin. And if you believe Whitney is out for the count, then you obviously have no faith. It may take 20 years, but a true child of God may go out in prodigal son style, but they ALWAYS make their way home and Our forgiving Father ALWAYS takes his children back. He never turns his back on any of his children and we are made in his image, we should not turn our backs on our fellow brothers and sisters in their suffering and when they hit a bump on their journey. It ain't over for Whitney, trust & believe. The faithful know that, the unfaithful will comet to see that.

But yes, I send a prayer for all those who are addicted: to food, to shopping, to men, to drama, to drugs. If only they would stop believing those things that drove them to the addiction in the first place, surround themselves by people who support, pray and wait on the Lord. But if we keep kicking people like Whitney when they are down and they try to get up but are shown no love, that just sends them spiralling downward further and faster. We should support our brothers through the good times and the bad times and not forget, THAT THERE FOR THE GRACE GO I. So, you ain't said nothing but a word. Because as my moniker states, I'm all about realuvbaby and I do have compassion for my brothers and sisters, though I don't always like what they do. Every tub must stand on their own legs, but if you don't have loving support around you, it's not impossible, but it's more difficult. So yes, Lord please bless and cleanse all those who are facing addiction today, bless them and their families and keep them as they try to get past this bump, this pothole, if you will on the road to their destiny. AMEN!!!! None of us are staying where we are forever. Life is a journey with many bumps on the road. We fall down but we get up, DAMMIT so stop counting people out. Comment: Glad you can relate Southernbelle. It's from my heart <<sniff, sniff>>. I have a brother who is a drug addict and he's 44 years old. At the time he was in the army and the baby momma did not even tell him she was pregnant before he left to go away. The baby was born in July and died a crib death in December and the first time he saw his firstborn son was in that coffin. He lost his way after that and turned to drugs and has been on drugs ever since. In and out of jail, struggling with addiction. No matter what anyone would say or do for him, he could not shake the habit. He's got 3 kids, a wife from hell and every time he tried to clean himself up, his wife would berate him and as much as he tried, she knocked him down, so what did he do? He turned to more drugs. Drugs finally got him so bad that he could not kick if he wanted to because now he was CHEMICALLY addicted. Meaning his body told him he needed the drugs. In and out of jail for many years. Arrested for the last time in February. Spent the last six months in jail and is now drug free. His girlfriend moved him to Chicago and thank God he's doing better now. He's clean and trying to find his way back. But he had to leave Atlanta. It took 25 years, but he was delivered. So I know firsthand about drug abuse and it can do to a person, family, loved ones and friends. It does take the desire of the addict to want to be clean, yes, but you can never get to a place so low that God can't reach. He is the only one who knows each of us intimately and knows what his purpose for our lives are. He is your creator. Remember how your mama used to say, I brought you in this world, I'll take you out? Well, it's the same for the Lord. Remember Job. Well, Satan could only go but for so far with Job, because though Satan could do what he wanted to do with Job, God was and is in control. and Whitney WILL be delivered. Not when we want to or say she is, but when God says so. It ain't about Whitney and her addiction. It's about the glory that God will get WHEN Whitney is delivered. God may even take her from this earth before that happens, but this is not our home, we are just passing through -- but she WILL be delivered. And Whitney will tell you herself what God has done for her. Watch. Wait. Trust and believe.
