Comment: I love Monica! For some reason however, she has been unable to really break thu. Her voice is superb, but her music/lyrics are a bit disappointing. I still play her "the boy is mine" album all the time. Angel of mine is such a lovely song, and I also love street symphony! She seemed at one point to be a mini Whitney, and she is on J-Records with Clive and 'em.....but all the accolades and fame ellude her. I wish her good luck with this album. That last album-with that missy elliott track with the video about her man being in jail.....what was it called again?...can't remember....but it was not on par with what she can do. It was not memorable (obviously). With those pipes, she'd better bring it! Hit me off with another "For you I will" any beautiful Ballad will do.

Comment: Monica comes off as one of those people that can't have fun, she seems so uptight. She can sing, but she has the wrong songs and lyrics. Her new video...horrible, she is too tall for all of that so called dancing. She needs to be in gowns and wear things that are fitting for her. She may be crunk and fun and love to dance, but it just comes off as fake. Angel of Mine, Before you walked out my life...classic so was the hair. Monica go back to those days, with more maturity of course.

Comment: I also like Monica since Just One of Dem Days and she shines on ballards... I even like the song she did with the little rap... but Angel of Mines and, Before You Walk out My Life, as said are pure classics. Hopefully her sound and content are more mature on this CD. She has a beautiful voice and is a very pretty girl yet I think she tries to hard to "keep it real".

Comment: Monica looks rough for a 26-year old and she seems to like thugs. I recently saw a picture of her with a bad blonde wig escorted by a DOG at the VMA Awards. Who the hell does stupid stuff like that? Her 10 minutes of fame are up and she needs to sit down.

Comment: star I saw the video and I thought that it was not a good fit for her at all. It looked like a copy from the Destiny's Child video about liking thugs, even down to her holding the dog on the leash. The dancing didn't fit her at all and the hair didn't look good. It's a shame because Monica is actually a talented singer. I hate seeing her molded to fit this market of non-singing dancers/video girls who masquerade as singers.

Comment: There is a much better article about Monica on vibe.com, which I'm assuming the EUR borrowed heavily from and then seriously screwed up the editing. I agree with most of the posters. I always thought and still think she has a nice voice, but wondered why she never blew up. I also saw her latest video and felt she was out of her element and as someone else wrote, the hair was bad. In reading the article on vibe.com, she comes across as a very intelligent, down-to-earth person who has been humbled by her life experiences and grown as a result of them. Switch over to vibe.com so y'all can get the real story.

Comment: Monica hasn't made superstar hits. She really tryin' to be the down chick. I think that's who she is, but I think she should move from that and focus more on a quality product. I like her current single & video "Every time tha beat drop". It doesn't remind me of Destiny's Child at all. The single has made me want to purchase her CD or at least give it a listen. I haven't purchased Monica since the "Boy is Mine".

Comment: She should try someone like Clyde Davis. I think he would take her voice, music to the next level. She certainly has the voice. She'd have to shed some of that ghetto mentality and that could mean dropping a few people whose produced her last cds. The right songs for her voice and proper marketing, Monica would really blow up.

Comment: I remember seeing I think the making of the so gone video and she was talking about the guy in that video how he was married and she held up her ring and was like maybe I could learn somethings from either him or his wife because she will be playing that roll soon. I also saw pictures of her with a baby on another site and the post said that was her and her new baby boy but who knows maybe not. As a matter of fact I saw those pics on either rapdirt.com or rnbdirt.com she was at some ones party. Any way I love her music and I just home she came with it with this album because I do miss her.

Comment: Monica has a little boy about 1 1/2 years old. She is not married. The little boy is really cute. Yesterday, they had a link on www.ybf.blogspot.com to a picture of Monica and the baby. I've also seen pics elsewhere and read an article a year ago right after she had the baby. I think the little boys name is Rodney.

Comment: This article is misleading. Her ex boyfriend committed suicide years ago. It was before her last cd "After the Storm". She even had a song on her album about him. And the pregnancy rumors are referring to the rumors when she was about 15 yrs old. She does have a little boy who should be turning two soon.

I expect people to have varied opinions, but Monica has been making hits for over 10 years. She went down in the RECORD BOOKS as the youngest person EVER to have a #1 single atop the billboard charts ('Don't take it personal' ring a bell?) But all I see is stupid stuff like, "she is too tall to dance", and "her blonde wig at the awards was bad". WTF? Beyonce's and Whitney's hair has been tore down since their first #1 hit. Comment: Monica has such a beautiful voice and "Before you walked out my life" is one of my favorite songs and I wish she would sing more in that style. We've all had some bad relationships in our lives, but I wish she would take it up a notch and maybe even go in the direction of a little jazz. I think she could stand out above all those other singers if she sung with class.

Comment: I read in the Sister2Sister Magazine that Monica does have a baby. She has a baby boy and as far as marriage, it mentioned nothing about marriage in the article, just about her having a baby.
