Comment: I am not going to say that this is good because a divorce is bad for anyone especially when there are childrens involved. I do not think it was the marriage, whitney has a drug problem. I am happy that she has taken the necessay steps to seek some help for her addiction. I cannot wait to see her get back to singing , she is what has been missing for the whole music industry. She has a golden voice and she will skyrocket back just watch and see. So get ready all you other female singers who think that you can sing , Whitney will show you all how it is done and this will be some kind od comeback.

Comment: KayaNow-You know they are saying that she has filed for a legal separation but then the word divorce come out in the next sentence and they say she will file for a divorce next month or so. I just wonder has she really filed for a divorce or is it indeed just a legal separation. I just wish her well and hope she has a very successful recovery.

Comment: Legally you have to file for seperation in most states and the seperation has to be for 6mos - year. Divorce is bad under most circumstances...but regarding this situation...saying its necessary is an understatement! I wish them all well and can't wait for the Whitney comback! Been praying for this for a long time.

Comment: Nightshift--she was probably able to do a "night out." Sometimes, depending on your "program" if you're doing good, you do get a privilege to go out in public. Just think about it--if she's been in rehab all this time, and has not been out--it was time for her to face the public--as part of her recovery program. Comment: I am glad to hear about Whitney. I am praying that she does make it through the program and be delivered from drugs for the sake of herself and her child. Prayer "IS" Powerful. No matter what some of you non-believers say on this board. Along with prayer, action must be taken in consideration. Drugs is a hard thing to overcome and until one of you have stepped in this woman's shoes, no one can judge b/c you never know how life can be fore you. You view her as a crazed nutcase b/c you are on the other side of the grass and never hit rock bottom or been in that situation. Although divorce is a bad thing especially when children are involved, in this case this is what is needed for her to move on. Just b/c a couple is married doesn't mean their marriage is annointed. Some folks married the wrong folks in life and that is why the divorce rate is high as it is. I am not faulting Bobby either but she needs a whole new fresh start. Bobby needs to get his act together and get cleaned himself but if one doesn't want help for himself then you can't help him.

On the other hand, we all know the history of black women in this country from slavery to modern day. There was a time when we didn't have any rights that anyone was bound to respect and our men (God bless them) could not protect us. While I believe that Duke accuser was lying, that is not an indictment of all black women. I just wonder if things would have turned out differently if she had been a black female professional with a husband and 2.5 kids. Then again, she wouldn't have been in that setting, you know what I mean.

I know too many sisters (including my own) who go through hell and struggle everyday because they made a lifelong committment to someone that they shouldn't have either out of societal pressure, ignorance or desperation.

I know they said "til death do us part," but that does not mean allowing your spirit or body to die in the process just to be able to say that you are married.
