Comment: HUEY....Apparently you dont understand how copyright infringement of intellectual property works.....1) you may not know someone has infringed until they do something with the property; 2) If you do suspect someone has infringed, youre supposed to wait until money is made or else why sue; )copyright infringement happens all the time in the business--with or without agent representation....

Comment: The manuscript was passed along in 2001 and now they come up with a similar plot for a new tv show. Not rocket science - but for the fact that the petitioner jumped the gun, she/he did the right thing.

Comment: What I'm trippin on.....Is how is 'The Game' a spin-off of Girlfriends? Is there anyone on the GAME from the show Girlfriends? That's usually what constitutes a spin-off....ie. Louise Jefferson from Maude and All in the family...hance 'The Jeffersons'. I believe she should sue. I also believe the writers/producers of 'Living Single' should have sued the creator of the show 'Friends'....it was a Living Single rip off if I ever saw one.

Comment: When I worked in television, the research department was suppose to search for copyright information for all newly created shows, basically to prevent things like this from happening. Guess folks don't do that anymore.

Comment: The show is a spinoff in that the main chaacter is Joan's cousin, so Joan will be the character seen from "Girlfriends." I recorded the episode that introduced the show, but I actually didn't watch it until a few weeks ago. I think it has the foundation for a good show, but how long will it last? "Half and Half" was one of UPN's better shows, but it was cancelled.

Comment: thanks, leokev you're right. That would explain Tia Mowery in the CW promo's and parties...I was so lost. I am a total Girlfriends fan, until January....then its nothing but Keifer Sutherland and '24' for me on Monday nights.....as a matter of fact I'm going through withdrawals as we speak...BRING ON KEIFER!!!!!!

Comment: i was just trying to remember what happen with the cast of"living single"
i do know that they went to ask for raises just like all the other show's
cast did and received big raises.but the cast of "living single" was refused
and the show was cancelled.i met queen
latifah at a party and we were all discussing the cancellation of the show
and she informed us that even though the show was in syndication they receive no royalties fm the show.so when we watch :living singles"repeats
which is now on oxygen, they receive no
monies which makes me so mad.and yes the creator of that showed should have
sued because" friends" is exactly like living single but with white humor.and
as far as "the game" i tried to like it
b/c i love wendy robinson,formerly of the "steve harvey"but the show is not too funny.peace and blessings

is that jillmarie who plays "toni"will
not be coming back.because she asked for a raise and the others did not back
her up and she was fired.now for me the
show does not work without all of them
even william b/c all of their lives are entertwined with each other.so i guess i'll just have to wait and see if the station stood by that decision.
also they all dropped the ball by cancelling half-n-half.how come we don't protest like the white folks when one of their shows is cancelled or
about to be.just asking!

Comment: Boy am I mad to hear that the Living Single crew don't get residuals. They are like my family. That is so wrong. And I am so missing Half and Half. I was looking forward to Mona choosing Spencer after going through all those other fine brothers and I wanted Deedee to end up in love with her boss. That was how it was headed. And those mothers were hilarious. I hope we haven't seen the last of the lady who played Big Deedee. She is wonderful. I hate that UPN is gone. I enjoyed the shows, even the bad ones. Black people need to see ourselves sometimes from our own point of view. There is nothing left for me now besides Girlfriends.

Comment: I luv Living Single and to this day I watch each episode and enjoy each like it was new. I am so going to miss Half n Half. I luved that show. Everyone in that show was cast perfectly. I can't wait for Everyone Hates Chris to come back. There are so few shows that I can relate to. It's sad how many opportunities white actors get to appear in shows, that are terrible, but black shows, even when they're quality shows like Half n Half, if they don't get white viewership, they get cancelled. White people are not going to watch our shows. They have too many shows in which they can watch themselves.

Comment: Regarding writing letters about the Half and Half show being cut. Can you tell me who to write to? If the UPN network is gone where do we send letters? By the way, I wouldn't mind seeing a Half & Half spin-off with just the parents. They were fun.
