Comment: Oh well, I guess he done run dry..I enjoyed the comic strip. It was current and had an edge...The cartoon kinda sucks to me...I've watched it a few times but I ain't feeling it....It seems that it's purpose is to see how many times the characters can say ni&&a...Plus that animae style dosen't work...I know grinding out a daily comic strip can be a difficult task but with Bush Jr in the White house, BET, Starr Jones, Chavez, Katrina, the war, ect he'd have tons of material...

Comment: I agree Boot I liked both the strip and the cartoon (although this took some getting used to), minus a lot of the foul language these brothers remind me of two of my nephews. I hope he decides to at least bring back the comic strip.

Comment: I'm hoping he brings the cartoon series back soon. I got the season as a requested b-day gift and would hate to see it, like Chapelle's season shows, just a one-time thing. I enjoy the strip and cartoon and the humor they bring along with their fresh humor , true-to-form sterotypes and messages(MESSAGE! as quoted in 'Don't Be a Menace While Drinking Your Juice...).

Comment: The comic strip - ok. As far as the cartoon, I hope that mess NEVER sees the light of day again. I was completely disgusted when watching it. Even more horrified while flipping through the channels in Australia only to see it there...as I've always said, we can argue that its making a point, but the reality is that the rest of the world doesn't get the point, they have no reference of what 'point' Aaron is trying to make with his sarcasm...keep that mess off.

Comment: I enjoyed them both. I hope brother either bring 'em back or work on something that's even more provoking.

Comment: I agree with you Boot... love the strip but the cartoon didn't have that same punch, although I didn't dislike it. I also agree hearing the "n" word so much took away from the message. Hopefully he'll go back to doing the strips and putting out books.

Comment: The cartoon strip was good and most days very on point. The cartoon on cable? Terrible. I mean really bad. I don't see how much worse it could have been. It was just that bad to me. And ya'll are right about the n- word. Way too much. The worst thing about it is, kids today, even 20-somethings, will think it's cool when they really are missing the point.

Comment: I loved the comic strip and the books. And I wanted to love the cartoon, but I couldn't get beyond Regina King being the voice of the boys. And the "N" bomb being dropped was getting a little old. It's much easier to do political satire in a cartoon strip, but much harder to sustain it in a 30 minute show. I'm cool with the cartoon NOT coming back, but I hope the strip comes back.

Comment: Justifiable so, McGruder got a lot of heat for disparaging Rosa Park, and decided to take a hiatus during that period. I despises anybody who disrespect the grayheadness of our grandmothers and mothers--especially those who have struggled for our good. Later for the p u n k unless he makes a sincere public apology. Same thing with Cedric the Entertainer. I use to really like him until he disparaged Rosa Parks and, like McGruder, defended his actions. I don't care what happens to either one of them until they apologize for attacking the beloved sista.

Comment: Seems this brother has dubbed himself a genius in that quiet, smirky Pharrell mode ("I'm a songwriting MF!" Correction, Pharrell: you don't write songs. You fiddle around with electronic drum machines and stumble upon beats that have teenage appeal). But the strip very seldom made me laugh (it is in the comics section after all), so I consequently never had any interest in watching the cartoon.

Comment: Universal Press Syndicate told subscribers they should start looking for a replacement for this comic and cartoon. I hope those are just preliminary words in advance of Aaron actually answering to whether he's gonna continue or not. Boondocks is not for the faint of heart and I can't see where the young man owes anyone an apology, Cedric the Entertainer either.

Comment: I agree with most, I liked the comic strip more than the tv cartoon. Wish I could see new strips in my daily paper soon, but if he isn't feeling it I'm glad he's putting his pencils down rather than just going through the motions. Maybe the cartoon will come up with his full-time undivided attention.

Comment: From one of the biggest Boondocks fan (t-shirts and all): Uh-Uh..i can't believe you guys DON'T get the point of the strip OR the show. I get it, and i hope he comes back to do another season or five of the cartoon. It's one of the few things i actually look forward to on TV. So many times, our people get caught up in some negative thinking based on how other people tell them they should perceive it. Aaron McGruder is the truth, and Huey is my hero. Y'all need to wake up, for real.
