Comment: Not a bad suggestion Boot - I don't watch desperate housewives - too lily white for me but she would add flavor and color to that or grey's anatomy. To me as isiah's love interest she would be more believable than the asian - they just don't look right together and you can't tell me that brother looking in that dry azz face sees the 'beauty'.!!

Comment: You go Gabrielle! I used to watch Desperate Housewives religiously until the 2nd season when they went all wack. But, I might give 'em another chance if they put a sista on the show and juice it up from it's wackness. I've never seen Gray's Anatomy, but I'd be curious to watch if they made Gabby Isiah's love interest. I'm interested in seein' what kinda show they give her. But she's a smart girl. I see her becoming an exec someday and developing projects for herself and others.

Comment: I am with AquaBoogie...she deserves her own show. I watch DH and its ok but what they seem to do is add a token black family from time to time and have them move off the block once the season ends (i.e., Alfre Woodard). But I think she'll do well at pulling off her own show. I just hope its a drama. I can't take another reality show or whack azz comedy!

Comment: She's not really a good actress. She's okay but I think Nia Long is much better. I'd really like to see the lady, Sharon Warren that played Ray Charles' mother. She got so dissed at the Academy Awards because she played the hell out that part and totally deserved it just like Oprah did for her role in the Color Purple.

Comment: I'm glad for Gabrielle - I hope it all works out for her. I have never watched Desperate Housewives, but, I guess her joining would definitely add some good sparks to the show. Gabrielle will continue to grow as an actress with better material which will give her a chance to further sharpen her thespian skills - it takes time for everyone to grow in their craft, so, I don't understand someone saying that she's really not a good actress - that is totally irrelavent here. All of the young actresses of color are great on screen, and I'm proud of all of them.

Comment: Hi Stephanie, I thought Sharon Warren was incredible in "Ray". I wouldn't be too worried about the Oscars. It took them, what?, 74 years to recognize us in the lead actress catagory. I mean, I know Dorothy Dandridge was nominated for "Carmen Jones", but it took us that long to finally WIN one! Later for them! AauaBoogie, LOL, we DO have enough wack azz comedy's. Can't wait to see what they have for her. It better be good cos Gabs is talented, A-List all the way.

Comment: Well all know how the Academy Awards work!!. Sharen Warren was fantastic in that role, but she does not have what the Award shows are looking for. Her looks do not qualify for those stupid awards. I am certainly not saying that she is ugly, but Hollyweird has a standard for black women. Gabrielle fits the bill to a point but Sharen does not. At the time of the Color Purple; neither did Oprah. We all know that to get noticed by the Award shows you must have some "white like" qualities. Long straight hair, light eyes, light skin, soft facial features, speech, etc. You dont have to have them all, but at least 1 or 2. Yes its SICK!!!. This is why we have to continue to support our black awards and venues...leave that other crap to those others!!!!!!! Even us common women must face this time of discrimination everyday. Women who have the looks of just a black women, darker skin, thicker hair, unfortunately do not get as far as black women with some of those other features. I have ALWAYS experienced this and I dont like it. Its crazy. Im tired of hearing, "Well, you are different, you are not black like the average black woman, you must be white too". They think its a compliment!!!Its not,only an insult. My black sisters, we are all beautiful, intelligent and can achieve all we want. BELIEVE THAT!!!!!!
