Comment: I imagine Bill Cosby owes the right to Fat Albert, but if he has not trademarked Fat Al, can he really stop someone from using it? What about two rappers calling themselves Fat Alberts? Or a female rapper Fat Alberta? Besides, the rapper's name is Al (Alraray) and it looks like he is fat, so technically he is Fat Al. I don't know law, but seems he might have a case.

Comment: I'm thinking that the reason Cos was sucessful in his quest to stop this rapper from using Fat Al is that he not only owns the rights but copyrighted variations of it (which you can do) so it's a good thing that this boy has a plan B.

Comment: Dang Cos, you're being kind of petty with this one. I agree with most of what you say but I can't/won't back this one. Most of this guys audience don't even know who the hell Fat Albert is. Cos you're going way too far when you try to dictate everyone's actions. This young man should have the right to earn a living (whether you agree with it or not) without you hassling for his right to use his own freaking stage name.

Comment: I grew up looking at Fat Albert back in the 70's so it means a lot to me, along with American Bandstand and Soul Train. Anyway homebody should get his own handle instead of biting on an american icon from my youth. Most of the rappers of today aren't as creative as the cats that came out when I was in high school or college. It's all the same to me, well at least 95% of them but Outkast is different, plus Gangstarr is good too but they don't get the props.
