Comment: Uhm... Mr. Lee Bailey, Why is this Gayle King snipet a news item? You have no proof that one of the firends she's speaking of who use the word "n*gga" is Oprah, so where's the newsworthiness? Plenty of folks use that word - and although I think it represents degradation of Negroes of slavery and beyond, I can't physically restrain those who find that word to be acceptable within their vocabulary. If Gayle King was a star, maybe there'd be some interest. But without Oprah's name -- she's a virtual "has-been who once had her own talkshow".

Comment: ...We can't have it both ways folks...We're either gonna continue to use the word or stop using it....My question is, why did Gayle have to admit to using the word on her show?...Now O's gonna have to go into damage control...God forbid she admits to using the word...White women would be calling every Black person ni&&ah to their faces..."Well Oprah said it was Ok"...I think Gayle has a nice azz but she seems like a airhead at times....

Comment: As long as these conversations hang around the longer the word is verbalized and the goal is to stop using it, isn't it? Just stop!

Comment: Try again, Lee Bailey - must be a slow news day on the net for EUR. Also, some people will try and think of any reason to sue and get some Ca$h.

Comment: Must be a really slow news day. This article is just filler. The lawsuit isn't against Oprah or O Magazine. It's against Hearst Publishers. This is silly. I won't even comment on Gayle. This whole piece is a waste.

Comment: Well, "O" magazine has been screwing me over too. I paid for a gift subscription for my mom, and they haven't sent her any issues, and it's been 6 months now. They had the nerve to ask me to pay again. Heck no. I'm gonna get on the phone with them today. Everybody tryin' to get over on somebody else.

Comment: I don't understand why EURWEB felt the need to print Linda Hall story about "O" magazine subscription. If that's the case can they print my mishap with ELLE magazine and how I handle the situation? : )

Comment: The reprinting of this story was a waste. Gayle's admission is just another way for her to extend her 15 minutes of fame, which expired several YEARS ago!

Comment: kudos for her being honest. i am not so straddled i am coool with US being able to say it without THEM being able to. i do not care for the thoughts or feelings of white folks and i never have. this is not me being racial, I just do not have that mindset. i do not use it all willy nilly, it just slips and there is not a feeling of guilt afterwards.....trust me, i meant it. ....i know where it comes from. I BETTER NOT EVER HEAR ANY OF MY WHITE COUNTERPARTS SAYING THE WORD and for these step n ' fetchits who say if we say it; THEY can say it, need to sit down somewhere, seriously.........that's just unacceptable.

Comment: Uh... why pay for something AGAIN that you have already paid for and then get mad?? A call to the subscription dept with evidence of a cancelled check or bank statement "before" the 2nd payment was made should of been sufficent enough to handle this misunderstanding....

Comment: Boot>I agree with you! We need to stop this HYPOCRITICAL standard that says it's alright for us to use the word but other races can't. And, for those who refuse to stop using it, if the n-word isn't racially charged then why do we get highly offended when other races use it?!!
