Comment: What did Simmons expect to see on a tour arranged well in advance? Heck, i clean up my house too when i am expecting guests. His response to Zwick was weak because he knows he is being used.

Comment: I don't think he's being used, this is a moneymaking opportunity for him and that's what he does. I'm sure that along with this deal he'll get one where kimora can take her pick at the ice she loves so much. It might ultimately benefit the poor in africa but immediately it's going to benefit the money men.

Comment: There's a question surrounding all the diamonds in africa so it makes no difference where he toured cause until he goes to botswana or sierre leone to see how the proceeds end he'll never know the real impact of his quest to make more dough at any cost!

Comment: It might have been beneficial for Simmons and Zwick to talk to some of the people who have been fighting this fight for years. Working with whites from the region, let me tell you that they believe the diamond business (and ALL OF IT'S UGLY HISTORY), actually helped blacks by giving them jobs. Never any mention of the hugh profits; none of which is enjoyed by the poor workers. And don't even talk about the fact that many of the mines are on property that belonged to blacks but was 'confiscated'. A few movies or visits by famous blacks will not solve the problems in Sierra Leone and the other African countries. As long as life is so cheap and hatred is encouraged, atrocities and the rebels that fund them, will persist.

Comment: I agree w/everyone. He is being used but he doesn't care because he is making money. And, the diamond trade is corrupt and exploitative of the poor Africans. I also believe that people will continue to buy the diamonds anyway because they are status symbols.

Comment: WELl for someone who met RUSSELL twice I really don't know what to say about him he gave me some good pointers at the hip hop summit and for those who talking about who the blood diamonds will effect and prosper and the wars that are still happening if you remeber any history at all when the BRITISH first came to AFRICA it was AFRICA who first sold themselves as slaves read up on it
