Comment: Well I think this is crazy, but it is up to the nanny who they want to work for. I think worrying about the neighborhood that the black family needing a nanny is in is stupid because if they can afford a nanny they obviously live in a nice neighborhood not a black ghetto. There are many black (rich) professionals that would be good to work for, it is not like going to the ghetto to take care of bebe kids!

Comment: Never heard of anyone in the ghetto using a nanny! So this nonsense about 'going to a bad neighborhood' is not the reason. To be blunt I don't really care. I have a negative perception, perhaps unfair, of parents that use nannies anyway.

Comment: I don't know if this report is true or not. Whites who own nanny services could be saying it to excuse their refusal to serve Black people. However, if many Black nannies are refusing to work for Black people, all the owners have to do is say, "Okay, you are fired because our Black clients have the same image of Black nannies that you have of Blacks needing nannies." Black people who refuse to work for Black people make it easy for non-Black employers to say our non-Black customers feel just like you do--they don't want you to work for them.

Comment: This article is flawed and one sided! I know several wealthy WHITE families that are always complaining about the lack of good LEGAL nannies. This is not just a Black thing....the Whities are having the same problem.
