Comment: Hhhhmmmm. I think there's more to this story than just a woman who hired Ludacris to perform at an office event. Sounds to me like she's "leaving out" a huge chunk of information.

Comment: The decision makers in a lot of facets of corporate america are very skewed to picking items that matches their backgrounds or personal beliefs. Looks like this woman was trying to adhere to the wants of the masses in booking these talents.
Most of the time...the 'corporate' (mostly white) meaning of fun never takes diversity into account. I've been invited to hard-rock concerts by my vendors, country music concerts, even medievil festivals and the like. Not to say that music isn't cross-cultural but I always thought that they would never choose a hip hop concert as a prize (even a pretty safe act like the roots). Its ridiculous
Personally if the theme was rock-n-roll -- I probably wouldve seeked pricing for Lenny Kravitz or someone like that.

Comment: Not necessarily Brandon, we are talking about Kansas City Kansas - big ole flat cracker town. They don't need much incentive to have a situation like this.

Comment: I thought Luda was bigger than office parties. But, if this is the sole reason for firing this woman than she deserves to get paid. Maybe she didn't know K-fed was looking for work.

Comment: There are some rap/ hip hop artists that are controversial and not appropriate for a work party. Luda is not one of them. Something fishy here. Sprint is about to pay some money to this lady.

Comment: Should have checked the artists' credentials...I hope the employee cleans Sprint's clock. Oh, and no surprise that this happened in AMERICA'S HEARTLAND (although it would be more appropriate to say America. The HEART has been gone for several decades).

Comment: Sprint should be ashamed of themselves. This boss is a a poor excuse for a leader. There are way too many individuals out there in leadership positions and don't know what they HECK they are doing. Glad I no longer have them as a provider.

Comment: I think she is an idiot for even thinking about using a misogynistic rapper for a business/office party! You are in corporate (translation - white) America and you have a party starring Mr "Shake Your Moneymaker/Move B*tch, Get Out the Way?" - she's a dummy and should have been fired for stupidity. If he had performed, they would have been liable for sexual harassment charges from the female employees...I think I would have been offended if I was at a work-sponsored event and someone was spewing that kind of stuff at me...reminds me of the time I worked on an all male crew in college and I made them take down poster of the nasty half-nekked picture of the girl holding a wrench/hammer...

Comment: Queeniebunz just like with school appearances some rappers remove the foul and misogynistic lyrics before taking on a project like this.

Comment: She definitely should not have been fired. Since it is a call center, i'm sure most of the employees are blk women, but i wonder what's the average age of the employees. I wonder who did she work with to come up with Ludacris because he would not be appropriate for all age groups. Who was the other employee that made the comment about her being into blacks? Was that employ blk or wht? I'm wondering because I could easily see a middle age blk person who don't listen to rap being offended by her booking a rap act just because they said they wanted a black act.

Comment: >McNasty - and your point is? You can take out the f***/s***/a**/b**** and the lyrics would still be misogynistic..."Shake your moneymaker"??? Come on...and if he takes out all of the above words, he won't be able to rap! You only get every other word then like when it's on the radio and whole sentences are missing. As you can see, I'm quite tired of the whole rap thing now. Give me Neo-Soul/Gospel/CLEAN R&B any day of the week and twice on Sunday but I've 'bout had it with this nasty rap stuff. See, I came up w/Doug E. Fresh w/ "The Show" and Tribe Called Quest "Can I Kick It?" and Kool Moe Dee who wanted to know "How You Like Me Now?" and LL Cool J who "Needed Love" and De La Soul who were "Me Myself and I" and Erik B. and Rakim who "Got Soul" and Digital Underground who danced "The Humpty Dance" and told you "Dowhatchalike" and though they cursed a little, they could rap an entire song w/out calling a woman a b**** and they could rap an entire song and nobody would get mad enough to shoot and kill anybody over words...

Comment: My point is obviously you've never seen a concert where they actually clean up their lyrics - it does happen. I'm not an advocate for rap and am not a fan of anything much that has come out in the last 10 years but some of them do know that their words are not universal and they will gear their lyrics towards the audience they are performing for.

Comment: White folks, just like the commercials are using rap as a novelty since it seems to be selling everything from soda to underwear so they are unaware or uncaring that Frankie Beverly and Maze would have been a better bet!
