Comment: Boston Legal was so good last night and I am happy she is on the show.

Name: CoCoCaramel
Comment: I got my copy of Essence yesterday and that is about the gist of the interview with Ms. Long...I am soooo disappointed with Essence mag now, that interview was only a page and a half and it didn't really say anything of substance, it was mostly about the fist fight that happened, Essence is becoming nothing but a gossipy/glossy/ad filled tabloid...

Name: WordUp
Comment: Co-sign Coco. Essence has really copied off a bunch of other magazines. They are selling space for too many psychic ads and they talk too much about homosexuality for me these days. I don't subscribe to Essence any more, although I will buy a copy once in a while.

Name: CJazz
Comment: Co-Sign with everyone on the board--Boston Legal was great!! I was also watching Law and Order/SVU--they had Blair Underwood and Michael Michele on that show and it was great also!!

Name: khufu
Comment: Interesting comment that Nia made....."the crème de la crème—true professionals who take their craft very seriously. So it’s been challenging, but in such a great way. "

Name: khufu
Comment: COCO...sad but that reflects the demographics and psychographix....the mags new format reflects the readership...the targeted market...not all readers of course but those they are going after who spend the bucks....20+ - 35

Comment: She is so fierce

Name: DCGG
Comment: This bytch did not sit up here and say "the fight had nothing to do with her"...bytch it had everything to do with you...she playing both sides of the fence and she knows it - Nia I know the game and it ain't cute...

Name: McNasty
Comment: It's good to see blacks on what have been from the beginning majorly white shows. I love all the Law & Orders and was happy to see so much blackness on there last night - I hope it continues. You know it is amusing that she would refer to them as the creme...is she referring to them being at the top of their craft or the color of the show?! hmmm

Name: dcdouglass01
Comment: Sounds like the boy's father is still feenin' over Nia and perhaps hoped to have a econciliation conversation with her while picking up their child. But lo and behold he gets there and she's having dinner with a Mandingo and he lost it. I know how it is bro'. I've feen'ed over two females in my lifetime, and it doesn't put you in a pretty place mentally/psychologically.

Name: katgrrrl
Comment: DCGG - I'm starting to look forward to your posts each day. You're so raw. I was gonna get the mag until reading CoCoCaramel and WordUp's posts. It's true what y'all are sayin' about Essence! They USED TO have articles worth reading. Now, their cover stories are just a page and a half of nothin'.

Name: Sigmatherunner
Comment: I wonder how this would have turn out if the foot was on the other shoe? Nia picking up her son and the ex is with his new (add your own adjective here) Both parties are at fault here but she should have thought this one out a little more carefully. You never know how one might act in this type situation. More than likely she would have lost it also.

Name: GOLDIELOCS
Comment: SO WHO WAS THE FRIEND THAT GOT PUNCHED? WAS IT REGGIE BUSH?

Name: McNasty
Comment: Sigma if he's still bruised over their break up it's all on him - didn't they break up over a year ago. It's up to you as to how you heal but don't expect your ex to wait until you do!

Name: thinker
Comment: People do this kind of crap all the time. Long knew full and well there would be a confrontation when she invited the "baby daddy" to pick up her son WHILE she was having lunch with a new male friend. She's too daymed old for this kind of mess. KEEP YOUR NEW PARTNERS AWAY FROM THE OLD PARTNER SO THERE WILL BE PEACE, IDIOT. ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE IS A CHILD INVOLVED. NO MAN WANTS TO SEE ANOTHER MAN SOCIALIZING WITH HIS CHILD. IDIOT. LONG SHOULD BE HUNG BY HER ANKLES AT NOON IN THE TOWN SQUARE. IDIOT.

Name: mundee
Comment: Thinker<------ I completely agree! As much as I love Nia she was wrong for that. Throwing that young, dark, and sexy man all up in her ex-fiance/babydaddy's face. But, to be fair it was Reggie Bush and if you are going to flaunt someone he would be the perfect person to say "Guess who's gettin it now!"

Name: Stephanie
Comment: Well, it sounds like the ex was a little on the insecure side. Reggie Bush is a cutie and had just signed that multimillion dollar contract and is probably better looking so the ex's insecurity probably got the best of him. Reggie Bush is not a confrontational person at all. So I'm sure the ex probably came at him foul and it was on. If he was going off like that then he probably had been verbally and physically abusive to Nia. Men only act like that when their extremely possessive and want to control you. Oh well, get over it. They broke up for a reason!!!!

Name: Angel
Comment: OK...so y'all are really going to blame Nia because her GROWN AZZ ex decided to start a brawl IN FRONT OF HIS CHILD?!? Something ain't right in the head with him. It's not like they broke up on Tuesday and this confrontation happened on Wednesday. If this man has beef after A YEAR....that's on him. He needs to seek a therapist.

Name: 4462DG
Comment: Was baby daddy doing a little stalking? "But he got to the mall a lot faster than I thought he would. It’s like he put on his Batman wings and flew" She called him, he got there fast, humm, you think he got there fast because he was following her around (come one now, we know folks do that shyt!!!) LOL, LOL, bro man got more than he bargained for-what a punk azz move, hitting on someone in front of your own son!!!!!

Name: Deb70
Comment: Thinker-I agree. That was my first thought after reading what happened. Why would she have the child's father pick him up that close to the time of her being on a date? That's just stupid and a set-up. And yes, it was about her. She's just gonna walk off into the sunset like it ain't about her. That is ignorance. She should have anticipated some dumb mess like that happening. That's childish on her part. Really.

Name: Sigmatherunner
Comment: Yeah McNasty good point but common courtesy goes a long way. Whatever the ex issues may be nobody man or woman wants to meet the new(add your own adjective here again) as a surprise.

Name: Calidee
Comment: I don't think the fight had anything to do with Nia. It was about the son. Usually the baby daddy or baby momma don't want to see their child with the other man/woman.

Name: CoCoCaramel
Comment: >>>Goldielocs...No it was not Reggie Bush that the ex had the fight with...

Name: dcdouglass01
Comment: Yeah, I agree with many other posters that Nia "Bow-Legs" Long is trying to play it like she had no role in creating the situation/environment. He swooped in like Batman? How was she planning to stage the situation if he had arrived at whatever time she was anticipating? Was Reggie to excuse himself to go to the bathroom or do a little window shopping while Batman picked up his son? Not cool, Nia. Not cool.

Name: queeniebunz
Comment: It was in poor taste to have that meeting. While it is possible that the guy could have gone away for the "child exchange" it DOES sound like she was trying to show that she had moved on...

Name: beegirl
Comment: Someone with the mag: Was it Reggie Bush or not? I don't condone violence, but it was kinda foul for her to be like, "Oh, what a surprise! I called you to pick up your son and I just so happen to be around a new man." It sounds like she was trying to make him jealous but it went further than she thought it would. Next time, Nia, drop your son off AFTER the date and have Reggie or whoever wait in the car till you're done.

Name: arkansasgirl
Comment: Nia and the child's father broke up about 4-5 yrs ago not a year ago. The article even says they broke up when the child was a toddler.

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: 4462, that's exactly what it was a stalkin' situation. And no matter how he felt, dude needed to keep his emotions in check in front of his kid at that. And one wonders why the kids act the way they do at times. It wasn't a good look at all for the kid the example that was set.

Name: Deb70
Comment: Yes. And if he was stalking--like is implied--it ain't the first time he's done something like that, so again, I blame her for putting her son and her date in that situation.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: what she SHOULD HAVE DONE was to have the ex come over after her date with the new man was done. so there would have been no crazy drama.

Name: McNasty
Comment: Even more of a reason for him to have not cut the fool. Thanks for bringing that to the board Arkansasgirl. People carry residual feelings too long and too far and it still doesn't justify fisticuffs.

Name: WordUp
Comment: Co-sign DCGG. Nia know damm well she got that fight started.

Name: Mishe
Comment: Is it too much to ask to expect the Ex to behave as an adult. This friend of Nia's was apparently special enough for her to introduce her child to him which would indicate that the relationship was moving to the next level. If the Ex can't handle this, then what is he going to do when Nia marries and his child is LIVING with another man. I honestly don't believe that she did anything wrong except expect her Ex to be mature. When I was growing up, it was nothing to have my mom, dad, step-mother and step-father all together. It was no big deal because they were mature adults.

Name: 4462DG
Comment: So, had Nia said, yeah, it's all about me(juicy got him crazy, lol, lol), yall would have said, "girl get over yourself "!!!! Why is there some stupid azz unspoken rule that a baby daddy has to think you don't have anyone else in your life, in order to keep the freaking peace!!!! Hell, had we reversed these situation and genders, everyone would be saying, Nia needs to quit hating and get her own groove on. Well so should this baby daddy!!!!!

Name: nycGYRL888
Comment: Nia didn't start the fight...her ex is an azz bottom line! I don't care if they brok up last year or last night if she said she is moving on..then dammit that's what she means. He ignorant azz had no reason hitting the man. Your job was to come pick up your child. As an adult, check your feelings at the door and discuss any feelings you have with her away from your son. I can't stand childish "adults".

Name: WordUp
Comment: Nia did start that fight. She could have avoided and should have avoided putting her EX in that position. She knows her ex still has feelings for her and the child. Women have know when and when not to mix men together, particularly where children are concerned!

Name: TesticAl
Comment: No the guy involved in the fight was not Reggie Bush. Reggie was at camp during that time. It couldn't have been him unless the nigguh has transporting machine. Ya DIG.

Name: 4462DG
Comment: Nia's only fault is picking a punk azz baby daddy. I'm sick and tired of hearing this shyt about what she could have avoided. They've been over for years I seriously doubt he had a habit of showing his azz before or she would have had a different approach, just because he can't let go, doesn't mean she has to hide who's she dating. She may have did that for years and all that did was just gave him false hope. Hell, men don't give a good damn about how their baby mamas feel when they move the hell on with another woman, naw they tell their baby mama, get over it already-well, so should he!!!!!

Name: Angel
Comment: Wordup - When my parent got divorced, they acted like mature adults. There were no fisticuffs if my daddy saw us out with my mother and someone she was dating and vice versa. This thug bs has got to cease. My mother, step-mother, father, and step-father are all cool with each other because they respect each other and they did it for the kids. I have NEVER seen my parents get into a screaming match or come to blows over who somebody was seeing. They are mature. So unless Nia's friend was doing something foul that's not in the best interest of the child. Her ex should have said "Nice to meet you" grabbed his son and rolled out...especially after 5 years!!!!! Come on now. Nia is not responsible for her ex's feelings after so much time has past.

Name: Angel
Comment: One more thing: I bet that azz whoopin put things in perspective for her ex. I'm sure from now on he'll just say "Hey, how y'all doin?" and keep it moving. LOL

Name: 4462DG
Comment: Angel, LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, ain't nothing like an azz kicking to put things in perspective!!! I'm just sick and tired of this mentality, just cause you passed some dude's child out of your "you know what" that he still has some damn ownership over it!!!!!!! GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK!!!!!IT'S OVA!! Sometimes a man needs to move on and get someone new and hopefully not %*$!( it up like the previous relationship.

Name: sgrantla
Comment: Nia is so FINE! I think Reggie & Nia make a cute couple but too big of a gap for age. This had to be a hot sex play for a few weeks.

Name: bigheadbull2
Comment: post comment

Name: Marlin
Comment: Cause if it was Reggie Bush......ATTA GIRL!!!....That little boy got "fine" written all over him.

Name: Kofi
Comment: I would agree with the posters here. What Nia did was some foul hood rat type shyt!!! Not to excuse the babydaddy's behavior but, men tend to be territorial and when children are involved in a nasty breakup the situation can become very dangerous. Family court is the most dangerous department in the court building. After 5 years, its not like she didn't know her babydaddy would pull some shyt like this. The babydaddy is a dayum fool as well. In an effort to make her ex jealous Nia set in motion a dangerous situation. Then has the nerve to say "it wasn't about me." Bytch please!!!

Name: shulamite
Comment: It's obvious to me that Nia invited her Ex to babysit the child *that night* becuase it was going to be *that night* in which she and BF were going to get busy. And she wanted the Ex to read between the lines and figure that out. I agree, what she did was foul. If she needed him to get the child she should have had a family member drop the child off.

Name: TooLiveQue
Comment: For all those calling the BabyDaddy a dumbazz. Put yourself in his situation. I'm sure he wasn't expecting to meet Nia's new man under those circumstances. Who knows, Nia probably pull this type of Bullshiggity all the the regular during their relationship. Apparently, quite frankly his lost it. Nia was dead wrong. Eventhough it's late, that's my .02 cents

Name: Sexee
Comment: Nia's my gurl,I love her! Regardless of who is wrong or who is right, their child was there. All emotions should of been kept in check! End of discussion.
