Comment: Alicia Keys hit up her fam on myspace to check out her new video on www.AliciaKeys.com, but I found the interview with Kam Williams which happened to be on the site I enjoyed writing weekly columns for back in the day, but had to complete my book, Literary Divas which Alicia happens to be featured as the author of her own poetry book. I have been pretty much on point about the artist from day, her poetry, and music which is phenomenal to say the least, but I think her acting ability may surpass her reign as a musician if she continues to get these shock roles as in Smokin' Aces. She has a commanding presence because she doesn't over do it, and is rather unconcerned with what people think of her. You can tell, but she and her side-kick played the hell out of their roles. Folks won't believe how good this movie was as far as the whole plot. This was a good debut role for Alicia. Not to be a spoiler, but that scene with CommonSense rescuing her was classy. Now that is a well written and executed movie. Of course, critics will beg to differ because they are not intelligent viewers of action flicks. Smokin' Aces was my kind of movie. Complicated, fast paced and exciting from beginning to end. Alicia should be proud and realize that if this movie receives bad reviews, the African American community truly thinks she did her thing.
