Katherine and Joe sure have some fukked up kids. I do wonder though if prayer has helped this greasy faced brother with the fact that he ran under his other little brother for his woman?!!

Comment: From the last couple of specials I watched on Michael Jackson, it looked to be that religion contributed in some part to his problems. It seemed as though he never could reconcile his career with being a Jehovah's witness. As you can see, now that Prince has become a JW, he doesn't perform his best material which is a choice that I can respect but may not work for everyone. If studying Islam would help him find some reconciliation or help his poor self esteem then it's a good idea, if not, it would just be another problem.

Comment: Why is this news - AGAIN? It certainly isn't NEW news. Jermaine has been talking about wanting Michael to become a muslim since before the trial and all during the trial. It appears to me, if you want to get your name in print, all you need to do is mention the name of Michael Jackson. LOL!

Comment: If converting is what it takes for MJ to find peace...then a Muslim he shall be. I doubt if people would criticize this at all if Jermaine said he's urged MJ to submit himself to God.

Comment: TommyStrong, I don't know about Joe and/or Jermaine. But I truly believe that the presence of the Lord was in that courtroom on June 13, 2005. That District Attorney tried EVERYTHING he could to get MJ, but he failed and he failed very, very badly. He couldn't even get a conviction on one of the bogus lesser charges. In my opinion, the "favor" of God was on Michael that day.

Comment: No disrespect to Jermaine or his faith, however, I firmly believe that Michael’s faith in God and prayers going up from ALL over the world, from people of many different faiths, especially their mother, is what kept him through it ALL. He Kept the Faith that he believes in. Jermaine said himself that Michael is a very strong person and that he doesn’t know how he was able to keep standing through it all. He said himself that he would have jumped across the table in court and slapped somebody…
All things considered, I’d say that Michael’s faith in God is working very well for him. The Muslim faith is not for everybody, and I agree with Andryce76, that discussion should have been between he and Michael, not him and the media. I do believe that he loves his little brother and means well, and I could be sincerely wrong, but I think Michael is too much of a free spirit to get back into any religious denomination with rigid rituals. Having studied many different doctrines, and the Bible ALL of his life, he may have become part of another one since leaving the JW’s, but I doubt very seriously that he has or even wants to be part of any organized religion…just my humble opinion.
“I believe in the Bible and I try to follow the Bible. I know that I’m not an angel and I’m not a devil either. I try to be as best as I can and I try to do what I think is right. It’s that simple…I don’t just pray at night. I pray at different times during the day. Whenever I see something beautiful, I say, ‘Oh, God, that’s beautiful.’ I say little prayers like that all through the day.” -Michael Jackson JET magazine - August 1979
“In Neverland "I'm trying to imitate JESUS in the fact that he said to be like children, to love children, to be as pure as children, and to make yourself as innocent and to see the world through eyes of wonderment and the whole magical quality of it all and I love that.” -Michael Jackson

Comment: McNasty, I heard ya...I am not big or reality shows either.. don't watch them, but this exposure of Jermaine and Latoya might have the opposite affect than most might think.. people get to see that they are human and from what I haver heard.. pretty mild-mannered people.

Comment: yasmine, I agree. I don't know about LaToya, but Jermaine apparently accomplishd exactly what you are saying. According to the BB audience and the BB forums, Jermaine was very well liked and respected. He came off as level-headed, mature and a calming force during all of the drama that took place in the BB house. I believe that folks came away with a different picture of Jermaine and not the one created by the media. I was impressed how he handled the drama without taking sides, but was still able to say what he had to say to all involved without offending anyone.

Comment: Well...I’m not sure how much he was paid, but one celeb got almost $195,000 on a previous run + room and board for 25 days of hangin' out with a bunch of strangers. It’s already paid of in other ways, like putting the J5 music back on the charts, so...it could be a strategic move that pays off pretty well from an exposure standpoint.
The media can spin and emphasize whatever they think can have a negative impact, but they can’t stop payment on his check! Plus he got to plug some other projects he’s doing. I say it’s all good if you make it work for you, which I think he did, and if the media is gonna profit from using Michael’s name regardless, Jermaine might as well drop it to benefit the family.

Duke rape case shows need for more protection of wrongfully accused
Bruce A. Gorcyca
Issue date: 1/30/07
Dear Editor,
The shameful revelations of the Duke rape case confirms what we collectively ignored in the Michael Jackson case — high profile cases are extremely vulnerable to political exploitation by over-zealous prosecutors out to make a name for themselves by any means necessary.
In both cases the media were played like a violin to maximize the public profile of the prosecutors, with little, if any, regard for due process of law, which, believe it or not, is still a constitutional right unless you are kidnapped and taken to Guantanamo Bay, of course.
Our Congress needs to intercede immediately with new federal legislation that 1) makes it a class A felony crime to withhold exculpatory evidence, punishable by mandatory 5-year prison term, 2) eliminate the veil of protection from civil suits and make prosecutors personally liable for false prosecutions and 3) make all states responsible for reimbursing the legal fees and lost income of citizens falsely accused and/or acquitted of crimes. People wrongly accused are every bit as much as a victim as the actual victim of the crime itself and should be compensated accordingly. A person's reputation is almost priceless in this world.
Society needs competent prosecutors to be sure. But this job title carries more responsibility than any corporate CEO, since not only the victims of crimes and their families rely on their skills for justice, but those wrongly accused and their families must rely on their integrity, ethics and sense of honor for exoneration.
What Mike Nifong perpetrated against these kids and their parents is despicable and a disgrace to decent prosecutors everywhere. Inserting and exploiting the inflammatory race card was especially abhorrent. He has ruined careers and reputations of innocent people. Disbarment is not nearly punishment enough.
He has proven to be morally bankrupt. He violated the public trust and needs to be prosecuted for his actions, which I believe to be criminal. We the people should settle for nothing less, or we will be silently condoning orchestrated prosecutions for ulterior motives.
