Now, it is possible for men/women to just be friends. I had a friend once and we worked in the same field for a time. People would see us having breakfast on Saturday a.m. and make all kinds of assumptions. Comment: It is silly how you can be seen with someone and people automatically assume that you are dating. That must be horrible for celebrities. Then, you have those who use the limelight to advance their careers. It keeps people talking.
On another note, I think Gabby's new show is going to be a hit. I read an article over the weekend where a former football wife recounted how one of her husband's mistresses called her in the middle of the night, told her that her husband had just left her house and should be home in 20 minutes.
Sure enough, he pulled into the garage 20 minutes later. They later divorced due to his infidelity, but the wife says the enjoyed the perks of the marriage.

Unfortunately, this is still a major issue in our community. I have a 13-year-old neice who announced that she didn't want black dolls several years ago. She and her mother are light. Her father is dark. Everytime her parents get into an argument, the first word out of her mom's mouth is N this and that.

Black dolls looked weird to me b/c they have European features but are painted brown. Maybe it would help if the black dolls looked like black people. Notice the popularity of the bratz dolls, they have more ethnic features, even the white ones, and for a while they were way outselling Barbie. Now when the Kenya doll came out, I went crazy. I couldn't wait to give her some microbraids. What type of dolls did they use for the video?

I am so happy with the selection of black dolls out there today. My neice who is 3 ((I don't have a little girl of my own), will NEVER get a white doll from me. Comment: I think one of the main reasons that kids react the way they do is because from the beginning we as People of Color has always been taught by society that the European standard (White)of beauty is right and good and that's what we should strive for. We, well some of us, are finally beginning to believe that WE are beautiful the way God made us. We have to continue to instill this belief in our kids. Let them know that their skin, hair and physical features are just as beautiful as any other race's. Stop teaching them that Nappy hair is bad and ugly, and dark skin, and big lips are things that need to be changed. Tell them they are beautiful not only through words but through actions!
