Comment: Sony, you were right on point with Jennifer's dress. I am not a JHud fan but I am proud of her. The chile can sang! Disappointed? I am surprised DreamGirls was nominated 8 times. Personally, I think the movie was overrated. Tracey Edmonds must only be attracted to gay men. She can't send to snatch up a real one.

The part of the problem was that the dress had pockets. I didn't hate the dress tht much, but that shrug needed to be shrugged off permanently.
The other problem was the ghetto girl -- still love her voice - PUT her handsINSIDE the pockets like a it was CHICK to do so at a FORMAL affair. Not even Ellen put her hands in her PANTS!!! What the F was up with that? Totally wrong. Didn't Andre tell her to not be so declassé? Dang

Comment: The highlight of the evening for me was Jennifer Holliday atop the Kodak theatre belting out the true version of that song! She can still blow and she still owns that song!

Comment: I was embarrassed for Jennifer Holiday having to sing that song.
she was on a rooftop that looked to be a block away from the Kodak Theater and because it was like a whole 2 hours before the show- she was singing to NO ONE. The handfull of people walking by were paying her nada. I was glad however to see her say all the "right" things. She wish Hudson luck, etc.

Comment: I have to disagree. I have seen a few "what were they wearing" type shows after the major awards- Grammies, etc. and dresses/gowns with hidden pockets are the IN thing now.

Comment: i think what killed Jen-Jens dress was that little jacket. but she changed dresses later and she took a picture of her with her Oscar she had on this very pretty metalic silver dress. it looked beautiful on her. i think what Jen-Jen need more vibrant color and get away from all the dark colors. she has a beautiful complexion and smile. she actually is a very beautiful woman. she needs to wear colors that is going to accentuate look. that brown dress just would've looked better if she didn't wear that jacket. didn't Leon Tally dress her??

Comment: but i tell you who had it goin on in the dress department and it was such a pretty and unusual dress. i don't know her first name but it was FORREST WITTAKER'S WIFE. oh my goodness, that golden yellow satin dress with the beauiful flower embelishments going on in the back. that gown was sharp! and the hefa was wearing it!!!

Comment: i would have thought JHud would have taken notes from some of the other dresses she wore, dark colors fit her, oh when she wears black..LAWD HAVE MERCY. forest wife's name is Keisha. and she is foiner than mouse mink. yes she was wearing that dress, but everytime you saw her with her husband she was dressed to the nine's. and leave Tracey Edmonds alone, she has been having issues with her GAYDAR RADAR, blinded by the bling bling of these men. (where's Juanita Leonard when ya need her,,show her how its done).

Comment: As for Jennifer's stylist for the Oscars, I think it was some chick and not Andre. They said who her stylist was on Today show this morning, but I don't recall her name. Besides the Star Trek jacket, her dressed seemed too casual. I didn't get her look but she still was beautiful.

Comment: jlo's dress wasn't very flattering to her curves. gwyneth's dress looked better in pics than it did on tv. nicole's dress may have been ok if you could've seen part of her neck. that bow or whatever it was was just too much. i hated jennifer's shrug. i'm glad she took it off. she did look great in the dress she changed into. i never got a good look at beyonce's dress. i didn't like anika's. meryl streep looked a mess. helen mirren's dress was pretty but i didn't like the color on her.

Check the E! channel cause I'm sure they will replay it. Yunvme I'm glad she wasn't embarrassed cause really - it matters a damn who was on the ground it was a worldwide broadcast.

Comment: YUNVE>yeah, i saw that part on E. that was Terrible. and she is supposed to be doing Dreamgirls here in the ATL in the spring. she also sang it on Sunday Morning. i just don't know about this one. to be honest i think she shouldve just left this alone. because you know when people hear her they are going to be wanting to hear her sing it in the way she sung it 20 years ago. it can't be done. the voice tone change over time and you can't hit those high notes like you used to back in the day and if you try to adjust the song to your key, it won't have the same kick. but i wish JHol luck in the future.

Comment: I agree with what JHud said in the recent Essence interview. Jennifer Holliday shouldn't have made the mistake of basing her whole career on one song or character.
Times and changed and I sincerely hope that JHud will have the opportunities and good contracts that Jennifer Holiday didn't.

Comment: I don't care if Jennifer Holiday was a hot mess and sounded like one, no one and I mean no one as of yet, can sing that song, "And I'm telling you" like her, even to this day when I hear, it makes me as MAJOR PAYNE says "all funny inside" no one can sing it like her, and these young people get me, with what they won't be doing and what not to do, hell if you got to eat and survive, sometimes you have to do things you would not do...give me a break, some of you just do not understand the strugglr, and how you have to stand on somebody shoulders to get to the top, , Ms. Hudson, I like you, but you have stood on Jennifer Holidays shoulders since this film has been released, watch out, and be careful, Jennifer has said alot of times that they had used her and threw her away when they were done, and she can sang....so be careful what you say young lady!!!

Comment: and by the way, Tracy and Eddie are perping a fraud, they are using each other, they used to all go out and doubledate, I think the only real person in all this Drama, that he has created in his life, as most "shesters" do is his ex -wife, she is probably shocked as hell to even know that he is dating a woman, and procreated with one...I don't blame her, get half, he probably exposed her to all that Johnny Gill, Aresenio, stuff and diseases , just disgustin..I'm sorry to go off on him like that, but really!!!

Comment: Congratulations to Jennifer Hudson, I love her to death. She is an inspiration for anyone who has ever been told they are not good enough when the problem really was they were too good for the person judging them. I hope she will take a page from Jennifer Holiday's book. As outstanding as she was, she chose to take on a Diva attitude that continues to today. She alienated everbody so noone would take her under their wing. Now 25 years later she is where she started. Some powerful people have long memories and a vindictive spirit. If someone ever gives her a chance, she'd better run with it and not look back. I saw her Sunday performance. She sounded beautiful, but she looked sadder than anyone should ever be.
