Comment: Wow. 2007 and this stuff is still going on. Amazing, and coming from an Asian dude, no less. And the ironic thing is, most asians dont even appreciate the fact that they and all other minorites have benefittted from the Black-led civil rights movement of the 60's. Every other minority in this country should be grateful to us for our efforts and gains in the 60's which benefitted all Americans, but of course, they want to diss us instead. Still, I strongly believe that what this man wrote is what many other asians think and say privately among themselves.

Comment: That's why I look for black owned beauty supply stores. I always thought they felt this way about us. If it wasn't for us, they'd go broke with all the weave, perm and nails sistas buy.

Comment: We should have never allowed asians in our neighborhoods with their brand of americanized chinese food nor should they have had so much insight of us to be able to set up stores to provide our hair care products. I say this without any animosity - just to say we should be doing it for ourselves across the board and on a much larger scale than we have been. It would have left no room for them or for stupid as.s articles such as this one. Let them go broke!

Comment: I do give credit to the Asian community for it's immediate response and concrete steps for action following the publication of this article. We can learn something about "family" unity from the Asian culture.

Comment: >>.YLawdY...I completely agree with you. I applaud their community for recognizing that this was inappropriate and an ill-conceived idea on behalf of the writer, editors, and publishers. >>Eyesly... until we see the value & beauty of our natural hair(& not necessarily in its natural state)these hair supply stores will remain.

Comment: EVERY group uses the black community as a stepping stone to greater things. Latinos and arabs have done the same. Since blacks are crumbling at the foundation it's every person for themselves they know that's it safe to strike. I'm glad he put this out because it proves what blacks have always known about nonblack immigrants and plenty of black immigrants are joining the bandwagon too. Blacks need to ban together and exclude others as much as we can...which is exactly what they do to us. We need to start selling products that some blacks simply can't do without that these people carry. They consider us gullible children and we need to break our patronage of them.

Comment: i read this yesterday in the nytimes. i am not defending this fool but he describes himself as an 'asian supremacist' whatever that is and has written several columns for asianweek since November, including pieces titled "proof that whites inherently hate us" and "why i hate asians". this clown has no clue and his generalizations are infantile and pathetic for someone who claims to have taken ap courses. he lists movies that were written, directed and produced by whites as his sources for the reasons blacks hate asians. puleeeeze, this ignoramus is trying too hard to be controversial to make a name for himself at the expense of others. his own people will deal with him because he is bringing shame to their doorstep...

Comment: Hate runs in all races but we should say all Asians feel this way or we should keep them out of our communities. This is just another deploy to discourage and enrage us blacks to act out in a negative way.

Comment: I give props to the Asian community for their response to the article. But I cant give any props at all to the magazine AsianWeek for pulling the article, cuz they shouldn’t have run the article IN THE FIRST PLACE!! And why haven’t they announced that they imediately fired that guy? Sounds like they’re waiting for the dust to settle a little bit to see how bad the response is, so they can decide whether or not they have to fire him, or maybe just keep him. This all sounds pretty sleazy to me.

Comment: I give alot of credit to the Asian organizations that started that petition, BUT we also have to realize that Eng is an A-S-S. I saw the article yesterday in the Post. He has said "Asian- Americans are apathetic, brown-nosing and lacking in cultural pride"; He written a column stating "Why I (He) Hate Asians" he also said that he had proof that "whites inherently hate them (Asians)". Personally I don't pay to much attention and I am not offended by it because it sounds to me like he just needs a hug... He is in his early 20's and I think that he is trying to make a name for himself in the business of jouralism. He has said rascist remarks against his own people. I think he is just looking for attention. Because to say that you hate your race is saying that you hate your family, parents, yourself, and your heritage. Just my opinion.

Comment: The best way to combat this is to stop patronizing their businesses we need to support our own busineesses.

Comment: The sad part is, his article is true! How many blacks do you see working for Asians? But yet, they won't take our personal checks, they won't give us a refund on the wack products they sell us. The black community is like one, big breast. Every foreigner comes in and nurses off it and we all know that breast milk is the best thing for you so they get rich and move on to be better and stronger. We are so hated as a people and its even worse we hate ourselves. We are so easily fooled by people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson when they're main program is to do like everybody else, get rich off our ignorance...its really sad. I was thinking the other day, how many white people buy Jordans? They'd rather pay $40 for a pair of sneakers from Ross and put the remaining hundred in a bank account.

Comment: The only reason the Asian community cried loud and spared not on this article is they know good and doggone well that if we Black folks stop buying their hair care products, and chinese food, and then stop getting our nails and toes, eyebrows done they will have to pack up and move back to wherever the fire they came from over in Asia! It ain't no love for us, believe that.

Comment: Uh.....I've read more articulate hate speech from White racists! This is it? I kept looking for the rest of it! This fool probably lost his woman to some negro. Mr. Eng probably doesn't have the balls to write about THAT so he's trumped up this nonsense.

Name: DoctorSmooth
Comment: I guess this article really shoulndt surprise anybody. A lot of Asians feel the same way. They just dont put it in print.
