Comment: Here's are thoughts for hoping that Chris and his wife are a real married couple. Oprah wasn't duped. If divorce was on the table, perhaps elders in the entertainment community performed an intervention. Oprah among other elders don't meddle but do attempt to be voices of reason in ways that none of us will ever know. The couple was not on the show just because of the movie or participation in the opening of Oprah's school.

Comment: Renetta, I'm trying to figure out your angle. Everyone knows that Chris and Malaak for heading for divorce court. People DO change their minds about divorce and try to work it out. Why are trying to make it seem as though they put one over on O?? Not getting it...

Comment: Ricki, I agree, people do reconcile. A guy I knew and his mistress used to hang with me and my (then) fiancee all the time (the mistress and my fiancee were tight friends). And they didn't try to hide the affair. But amazingly, he and his wife eventually reconciled (I heard the issue of post-divorce %*$et distribution was a big thing that steered them away from ending the marriage). Anyway, the movie looks like it has potential, so I'm interested in reading the reviews.

Comment: I believe the studio told Chris to wait to file for divorce. Studios do these type of things all the time. They tell you can't get pregnant and many others. I believe he will be filing by summer. This movie is about him and his wife, I believe. About people reconciling.... that's all bullshiit. Only reasons why is because they find out how much lawyer will cost, child support, realizing they have no palce to go to, she ain't gonna cook for me no more, i'll be struggling just to make day to day, i don't want to move in with my mother at 35 yrs old, my mom doesn't want me to move in with her at 35 yrs old and lastly worried about what people will say after they realize my marriage wasn't working.

Comment: It does seem contrived - their reconciliation. If you heard one of his comedy routines, all he talks about is how much he can't stand being married. When I heard that about 2 1/2 years ago, I could see his marriage was doomed. I know it was a routine but he was so angry and hostile and downright misogynistic that I could see the divorce papers in their future... No one will be surprised when the papers get filed/signed...

Comment: Divorce is like nuclear warfare. It may seem like a reasonable alternative to some egregious hurt but, after the first exchange you really want to re-think that shyt. Particularly in Hollywood where all your dirty laundry will be aired publicly. It is not usual for a wife to get pregnant during divorce proceedings. For many couple reconcilation is always on the table especially when children are involved.

Comment: I was wondering about this myself. I mean, I heard they were divorcing, then next thing I know, they're in South Africa at Oprah's School Opening, and then they were on Oprah's show. Very bizarre. Their daughters are cute and I hope they can work it out.
