Comment: "Muscle" Simmons is dead on with his comments about 50.

Comment: Damn good interview, I couldn't agree with him more. Hip Hop used to be so much more with messages now the hustle, sex, and thug is well in overdrive and overblown.

Comment: Remember how throughout the '80's, it was a no-no to sound like anyone else. Originality was always stressed. Unfortunately today, we have "Lean With It, Rock With It" part 72, "Walk It Out" part 27, and people with no true identifiable rap style or sound (musically). A hip-hop artist can have the hottest song on the radio and walk right past you in the mall and go undetected. People purchase a download of a hip hop single, but could care less about buying the entire album. Melle Mel was 100% right in that interview. Congratulations Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. True legends.

Comment: It blew me away when I heard the song "The Message" for the very first time. When I heard the track by Mims called "This Is Why I'm Hot", I just shrugged my shoulders. Sorry....not even worth taking the time to download. I do give props to Luda for "Runaway Love" and other cut's on his current CD.

Comment: Soulmusic, CTFU, funny you should memtion Mims, because I couldn't understand why the damn record was ever made. All he says is "this is why I'm hot!" At Entertainer's Club, we have this discussion all the time.

Comment: Im' so glad that they are being inducted into the Hall of Fame(Rock and Roll). First off African-Americans have to remember we started Rock and Roll, period. Also, I agree with Mele Mel Hip-Hop is dead. It has been dead to me for a long time as well. I can't remember the last Hip-Hop CD I purchased or listen to. This stuff they call Hip-Hop these days is garbage. There is no creativity and most of these rappers don't have zero skills on the mic and they "rap" the same about the same thing. The industry has become so main stream. It seems that anyone can get on the mic and make money. There are some rappers that still "bring it" like Common, LL Cool J, The Roots and Ludacris but like Common said back in the day "I Used to Love Her".

Comment: As one who has attended many GMF&FF jams back in the day. I say it's a long time coming. And Muscle Simmons your new CD is on the money.
If they did it like the used to I'd still prefer the old School.

Comment: Melle Mel speaks big truth now, today's rap has gone more worse than ever before and he truly spoke even more truth about 50 cent.
I Agree with him.
I Really Hate 50 cent, cause him and his brand (G-Unit) are nothing more than a retread and a replay of our MC Hammer/Vanilla Ice experience, He and his brand are a waste of time and space.

Comment: Wouldn't it be interesting to have a Battle that had the Ol' Heads (GMF/Kool Moe Dee/Rakim/KRS-ONE/etc) -vs- New Jack (Snap/Tribe/whomever else came along during the New Jack early-90's time) -vs- C-Rap (50/Mims/I dunno nobody else 'cause they're just not that important to remember)? Hell, KRS & Rakim could take it all by themselves...
