Comment: It sounds to me that that statement of Halle's is still not her final answer. Everytime I hear her say that I have trouble believing she really means it. I think she is doing what most people do when things have gone bad in one dept of thier lives, they swear it off forever which always isn't the answer either because its actually going against the natural wave of what you really want in your heart or hearts. Maybe God has a blessing and a surprise for Halle she doesn't even know about yet. As for her words "vowing she will never marry again," maybe she needed to see her good friend Oprah's show on The Secret which says the same thing The Bible and all the other Holy Books say - Words are powerful. So are thoughts. The more energy she puts on never marrying again, the more it will never happen for her. She is actually blocking that from happening by saying that so much to herself and publicly over and over again. She needs to speak to the Universe exactly what she wants and exactly who she is looking for. Be Specific. Halle, design the man you want in your mind, Write it down. Think on it. Ponder over it. Meditate on him. He's out there. You'll meet him. Shiii...it might be me! Let me find out! Watchoutderenow! Aw, Sookie-Sookie now! LOL! But seriously, The Universe is listening and waiting to re-align itself right to her wishes. Everyone who believes for that matter. ;) Oprah needs to do The Secret Part 3 and send the tape of that show to Halle! ;)

Halle tends to get caught up and that's not a good thing. I'm glad she's grown into her own and don't particularly care whether she marries or not. She's in tune to the black community and is intent on bringing projects to the black screen that will keep some of them working.

I think one should always be their own person no matter what, before you meet whoever, which I'm sure you already know. That to me goes without saying. But in my opinion, it still goes back to her telling herself and the world constantly "it ain't gonna happen" when in reality, I personally think it can still happen for her. Just a feeling I have everytime I see her say that. Her saying she will never want to be married is a not how I think she really feels underneath it all. Let me rephrase that -- She may feel that way right now and in recent years. But I think she's saying that based on past and recent experiences and "defeats" so she thinks it's not there for her totally ever in life. Not always true!Another thing is this even more personal question for herself -- Does Halle believe in her mind that she is truly derserving of a great, happy, healthy, rewarding relationship? If she or any other person doesn't really believe they really deserve it in the 1st place, it will never will happen for them. That is a self-block. Or as Patti LaBelle said "Don't Block The Blessings" You have to believe you deserve it, which you do. We all do. I think that the book The Secret is right when it says people should unequivocally state what they want, not what they don't want. By her always stating and focusing on what she doesn't want to happen, that's actually her order. She just placed her order to the Universe. So then the Universe simply responds with "You Don't Want One? You got it! You gets none!" ;)

She said, "sonny, let me tell you this (yes I can still hear her words), when it's all said and done one of the worse things to happen in this country will be the assumption that women can do everything men can." She went on, "you know, ladies can't jump into and out of bed with many different men and expect to be the same physically and mentally, we are not made for this such as men are." And in the 15 years since I talked with this woman, I'd be gosh darned if what she said was not the God's honest truth. And I think that's what gingerg was hitting on. Cause today I know a whole fleet of women who can't conceive children now that did a lot of whoring around years ago, multiple abortions etc. Now that they hit like their mid to late thirties and come to find out their "plumbing" is too jacked up to carry children. That old bird knew what she was talking about.

I was in a band (and for several years after), and all six band members participated in race that year. We called it the DOY, Dog of The Year. The objective? Bed as many women as you could. Being the lead singer in the band has its advantages, and I was (the lead singer). And I won the DOY award.

Comment: dcdouglass I think the abandonment issues she has due to her father play a large part in her failed relationships. As someone mentioned earlier she is the common denominator in these failed relationships. However I submit that her inability to pick an appropriate type of man is more than half the problem. Look at them men she has married. Justice is gross b/c he solicits hookers and Benet might as well be as gross since he claims is an addict and cheated on her multiple times. I am not absolving her from the part she played in these relationships. She more than likely doesn't know to relate to men emotionally. She also may be focusing too much on appearance. With the exception of Wesly all of her men have been considered very attractive and some put Wesley in that category as well. She may be one of those woman who HAS to have a man that "looks" good. I know I kid around about looks and fineness on the board, but in reality you must look beyond that.

Comment: OSUN, abandonment issues can be hard to overcome in a relationship because the one with those issues tends to need constant attention. Halle seems to marry quickly as well. It would probably behoove her to date someone for well over year to better gauge compatibility. And yeah she should probably lower the "pretty boy" meter just a bit because the pretty boys can pull a Halle-like beauty (and beyond) every other month.

So what's really the bottom line... after all parties have had their fun and decides to settle down in a monogamous(sp) relationship, does that indicate he/she has now graduated from 'whore status'? Or does that permanently keep one in that category? The older I get, the less critical I am about another's behaviors because I have yet to walk a mile in anyone else' shoes or experiences. Life is hard out there and if more of us were honest with ourselves and those around us, there would be less BS in relationships. But TV and media got us so eff'd up that we livin' on front street, tryin to keep up the Jones' and they don't even live on our dayum street. And we wonder why there is a deterioation in the family unit. Comment: I actually don't buy into what Mista O's lady said. The problem is that both men and women place ridiculous restrictions on what's appropriate for a man/woman to do. I know how many women I've slept w/and if I met a woman who "slept around"..it really wouldn't be an issue for me. Would I date a Superhead..FK NO! But, if my girl had 15 boyfriends prior to meeting me..I would have to azzume that she's had sex w/all of them. I am firm believer in certain parts of the past not being an issue cuz I certainly wouldn't want to be judged by the things I've done. These double-standards are influenced by society. Comment: The big ego brothers in her past cetainly had problems with her. Her money, her status her success. For sure the attention she received made them feel insecure. The problem is NOT how they felt but how they handled their emotions. If you don't want a women- just leave. You certainly don't have to play her or use her.
To balance things out, they beat her, trashed her in the media and cheat on her so they could get some esteem back and feel important. They needed to pull her down so they could pull themselves up a notch or two. All except Ealy he seems decent and showed her some respect and love. Something the others lacked within themselves.

I know what I like and I wouldnt want to be with a woman who doesn't "speak on the mike" but its not a deal-breaker for me.
