Comment: huey> co-sign so-sign co-sign...however I'll add this to the incomplete story based upon what I heard during the Power 105 town hall meeting. Immediately adter Imus got fired, Power 105 was one of the first hip hop radio stations in NY to have an advertiser free town hall meeting to discuss responsibility in radio. It was announced that Power would no longer play offensive music and Ed Lova apoligized at least 50 times for an insensitive remark made about The Asian community. I never listen to morning radio, let alone Power but I tuned in because Kevin Powell was featured during the 8-10am segment. Throughout the discussion I distinctly remember "Ashy" asking as discreetly as he could on the air; what the changes meant for him as a host. Helen Little never answered on the air, but said they could talk about it after the show -- off air. To now read that he was fired doesn't surprise me, the whole Town Hall came off like a pre-emptive strike to "soothe" any potential irate advertisers. Folks in the entertainment industry already understand how much of a hold advertisers have over what we see and hear -- thanks to Imus (who will wind up getting paid anyway)the general public will now understand just how much advertising factors into what's heard on the radio.

Comment: And the fact that this story wound up on this board "that bascially says nothing" really gives one insight into how EUR is produced. Most of what I read here, is day old and sometimes days and weeks old news culled and edited from other newspapers (although mostly the NY Post & the NY Daily News).

Comment: Don't these people get it yet? People are tired of this kind of politically incorrect behavior.

Comment: Teigh, you are absolutely right.

Comment: so what does EUR expect us to do or say about an event that it incompletely reports to us?

Name: StopBeingIgnant
Comment: EUR get's most of it's stories just like most reporting sites, from wire services. I don't understand why people think or expect EUR to personally write every story it posts.

Comment: Teigh>>>>You deserve to GET A GOLD STAR, and a 'A'. A very good and correct post. I couldn't agree more!

Comment: wire service? that's a stretch when they directly indicate in most posts which newspaper they got the story from. Take a look to the right of your screen, and both the top and bottom...EUR has ADVERTISERS based upon the number of hits to this sites...Bowflex is new, wonder just how much EUR is making...

Comment: ...and where to you think newspapers get most of their stories from???? Mars???
