Comment: If you don't have his album do yourself a favor. It is fabulous.

Name: MDhornet
Comment: Robin sweetie pie, honey-dip, love you album. Fabulous. Still need to get the first one. You're awesome. Umm, you were jealous of Jesus???? Interesting.......

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: ...He's laying it on thick...I felt like she didnt need me *Sob...She didn't come home for months *sob...She was doing sex scenes with Outkast *sob... I was jealous of Jesus...I'm special too *sob...Stop whinning...Who wants to hear all that sh1t?...He sounds punk-azz to me...Andre musta been been laying all that 900 on Paula's azz...Look, ya got a hit-song...Some Black folks have given ya a Black pass....Sing your dayum song and enjoy the ride...You took a simple song that Smokey Robinson probably tossed aside and made a hit outta it...

Name: BigSexy
Comment: Just got his CD last week. It is very nice. Nice indeed!

Name: TGen
Comment: I agree, his album was surprisingly great. I gave my beau a copy and he can't get enough of it to this day. His favorite song is "Complicated." He says he can relate to that. Hmmmm lol Anywho, I found this article very interesting, seems like it was a good interview. Robin's transparency is refreshing. He seems very comfortable with sharing his vulnerabilities/insecurities/pain. That's more than you can say for most people. Seems like a special dude...

Name: SpecialK
Comment: This cd is like that!! I like his honesty and candidness.

Name: gingerg
Comment: Great! He can sing, but he's crazy as hell.

Name: dcdouglass01
Comment: Given all the accolades (and despite the fact I've heard "Lost Without You" enough to last a lifetime), perhaps I'll go to iTunes and get a couple of his songs. But yeah, he could be on the edge of insanity. Next time his wife goes off on a multi-month shoot, she'd better watch her back upon return because Robin might strangle her to death.

Name: Bad_Kitty
Comment: Jealous of Jesus??? This guy is a nut. How don't care how young he was at the time.

Name: Deb70
Comment: Everybody got craziness in 'em. I love his album and I like that he is open like that. I digs.

Name: Deb70
Comment: A lot of men's egos are extremely fragile; they are naturally competitive with other men. I can totally understand what he means in terms of how he felt about Paula and Andre. Here he is, at the time, with no record deal, feeling like he isn't much in his wife's eyes, while she is out working on her career, doing love scenes with a friggin' superstar and he's home licking his wounds. While I'm sure she loved him as much as she always did, he had a different scenario playing in his mind and took it out on her.

Name: Southernbelle
Comment: I am about sick and tired of hearing "Lost Without You". I wish someone go find the m'fcker.

Name: ccognac
Comment: Musically, this guy is GREAT! Mentally, this guy "needs" JESUS!! One word, Prozac.

Name: MER82
Comment: Kudos on this album and I Co-sign to all those who enjoy his candidness. Its high time people quit frontin like they don't have issues and problems. If we were more honest with ourselves this whole fukkin world would be a better place.

Name: sigmascribe
Comment: I wouldn't say he needs Prozac and he seems to know Jesus...We only read what EUR posted from the article. I'm sure he didn't sit down in the interview and just pour out those four/five paragraphs;-);-) I digs him.

Name: Gurlfrand
Comment: lol @ gingerg - I gotta get this c.d. - I guess growing up the child of famous parents will do you in - he should have left Brentwood and strolled over to Compton at night sometimes......

Name: Stephanie
Comment: **Cracking Up** at Southernbelle...my daughter loves that song and bought me the CD for Christmas...couldn't really get into though...

Name: gingerg
Comment: I hear you, Deb70, but I wouldn't be too concerned about Andre. Denzel, yes. And what as she focusing on so intently? The movie bombed big time. That mess was so convoluted that people aren't evening picking it up on 99 cent day at Blockbuster. Also, she oculd have come home if she wanted to. There is a such thing as weekends.

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: I am surprised by his candor and honesty. Let's me know that there are other's out there with issues and/or demon's. If we are completely honest about ourselves, we all have secrets that we don't want other's to see. ...Time for the record company to push the next single though. Great CD, been rocking it since day one plus the tracks that were left off the original CD...no doubt...Image and being perfect is everything in Society.

Name: Deb70
Comment: gingerg--I agree. Clearly there's more to it. Not cool of her to stay away like that. Ain't that much focusing needed in the world. But isn't the "reversal of fortune" funny? The movie bombed, like you say, and ain't moving in rentals. And now Robin is the shyt. Paula is officially "Robin Thicke's wife" right now in a sense, in terms of who got the juice at this point. You just never know how life is gonna turn out. He got his "manhood" back. He just needed to be patient and have faith.

Name: indipindintthnkr
Comment: LOL @ Southernbelle. The cd really is nice

Name: mseffy
Comment: Love this guy, his insightful lyrics and personal candor. I doubt someone had to edit much of what he said; I've heard him speak and he's very articulate, plus he plays musical instruments and can score a song. Oh, hope the marriage is stronger than the speculation made in all these posts!

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: It's a nice, easy CD to listen to. Not the best "singer" but good in a Maxwell meets Justin Timberlake kind of way..just more "panting" in his voice. "Hi'm lost without Choo...How does hit feel, to know that high love ya baby." I hope he ain't passing off the damn insecurity onto his wife tho'. Hopefully he does well..but those who "pour out their hearts" haven't done too well for a while now...especially brothas.

Name: NueNue
Comment: He is a needy a$$ dude... but i love his music so its all good. not to cool with the jesus comment but everyone has a little crazy in them so i cant judge. i think i first heard about him on lil wayne's cd and i fell in love with the song. he is awsome. you go thicke. with yo fine a$$

Name: Gurlfrand
Comment: >musbdherbs - speaking of Maxwell, what happened to his singing career? He was hot in the late 90's, but, has been silent the last few years.

Name: justafu
Comment: A bunch of hypocrits for the white boy as usual...lol!!! Yeah, I'm gonna go there because if ANY, I REPEAT ANY BLACK MALE R&B SINGER HAD SAID SOMETHING AS CRAZY AS BEING JEALOUS OF OUR SAVIOR, MOST OF YOU WOULD HAVE DOGGED HIM OUT & YOU KNOW IT!!! Even if it was someone that everybody likes like John Legend or Usher it would have been the same! But yet you give this faggy-looking, drug addicted, white boy a break?! PATHETIC!!!

Name: arkansasgirl
Comment: gingerg and Deb70, plenty of actors stay away from home for months when shooting a movie. They like to be focus on just that role. I remember reading when Denzel stayed in a hotel for about a month to get ready for his next movie.

Name: Thunny
Comment: Man, fukk this white boy! Support our own, not their own!

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: Jealous of Jesus, yeah, okay. Justafu, I feel you. When Anna Nicole died you'da thought Jesus died the way some folk on this board carried on and all she did was stay drugged up and showed her azz, Janet had a malfunction and they wanted to run her out of the entertainment business! So I feel you.

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: That's it...I ain't never listening to Amy Winehouse EVER again...I will only support Ciarra...Sorry...ain't gonna happen...HaHa...

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: I am one of those Kat's if someone brings up the name Jesus..I don't have a Hernia...it is what it is...If Usher said the same thing, I would still listen to Confessions...real talk...

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: Soul, CTFU! But check out Elisabeth Withers. Sista girl not only vocalize, but her stylings and delivery will definitely take you to fresh heights. Sista is blazin'!

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: Mothership...will have to google that artist Elisabeth Withers..something tells me she will have a jazzy or silky soul to her voice...Thnxs...Any relation to Bill Withers..thinkin about the track "Hello Like Before"...

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: Mothership...Elisabeth Withers is the bomb...feelin the track "Be With You"...Didn't know she was in The Color Purple playing the role of Shug Avery...adding to the the collection:)...She also listens to Sheryl Crow. Let's snatch bake her "Blackness" pass. but she also gets down with Gladys Knight and Natalie Cole. Why isn't she played on "Urban" radio? Maybe becuz she has that soul...HaHa

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: Soul, no she's no relation to Bill. She's a Berkley School of Music and NYU grad. She used to sing with Luther. Her CD is called "It Can Happen To Anyone." You can peep her videos on this site. http://www.bluenote.com/elisabeth/

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: Yeah, ol' girl rocks on "Be With You." She's not played on urban radio because urban radio is about a buncha bullshyt. But that is changing now. We're getting back to the flavor slowly but surely.

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: Mothership...the Bluenote label don't play..I see she paid her dues by conquering "The Big Apple"...for some reasons I can tell she was influenced by the Dianne Reeves CD...Never Too Far...Im just sayin....Not surprised that she went on tour with Luther, you have to bring your "A" game with that dude....

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: "A" ain't the word with LV, Soul. Elisabeth also reminds me of my girl Phyliss too. I'm going to his gravesite to put some flowers on it next weekend, me and my brothers.

Name: gingerg
Comment: Ashford and Simpson encouraged Elisabeth to audition for the role of Shug Avery in The Color Purple. As I recall, she showed out!

Name: Train
Comment: Sistahs, or better yet black women will always give a whiteboy a pass but if a brotha was saying all of that vulnerable bullshyt then he would be called weak or a punk. The day a man would worry about a woman being away working is the day he should walk out of the relationship because no female is worth stressing out about.

Name: SweetieDarlin
Comment: Man, tough crowd, glad everyone is so well adjusted and never had moments of doubt. The interview does seem interersting. Jealous of Jesus, more than likely at age 7, he may not have had a true concept of what being the Son of God meant, I certainly wouldn't knock him for his thoughts and ideas at 7 (Gee WHIZ.) The CD is nice. I do support black artist that are good, but I won't limit myself to just black artist, good is good regardless of color (except if you are a statutory rapist like R. Kelly LOL)

Name: SweetieDarlin
Comment: Train> This is an ongoing theme with you in the past few weeks about sister's giving a white boy a pass, does it happen that often? As one sister, it's not about a anyone being a punk for expressing his feelings but that's just me (different folks, different experiences.) Oh well, I guess it's like the guys in the board saying that anytime a black man is dating a white woman, all sisters get an attitude....

Name: tinacherry
Comment: umm... when i was 7 ,,i thought my stuffed animal came alive at night and i also thought he was filled with money and if i cut him open we would be delivered from poverty...once again,,I WAS ONLY SEVEN.

Name: Angel
Comment: Man, y'all are trippin'. LOL At 7, I think I still believed in Santa Clause. As for feelin insecure when ol' girl was blowin up while he couldn't get a record deal is nothin new. He just had the balls to admit his shortcoming. That's not punkish. More folks need to recognize why they do dumb ish to their partner. Sounds like he figured it out in time to keep his girl because she was all smiles on Oprah.

Comment: Robin WHO?

Name: timmdogg
Comment: His album is really good, but you all ned to check out Liv Warfield (Embrace) sista gurl can sang and the entire album is really good. She has that Sade sound/influence going on. Robin sounds like a complete nut when trying to idolize, maybe have a fixation with the Good Lord! Nuff said....

Name: justafu
Comment: Thanks Mothership for seeing my point. I'm not hating on Robin Thicke such much as I would cringe for the careers of Usher or John Legend for examples again if they had said something like that or voiced insecurities about their marriages as well.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Gfrand...Well he was never ever to recover from the sophmore jinx. Most people weren't able to get w/his 2nd CD Embrya and he fell off after that w/his 3rd. As much as we like to say we want something "different"..we generally want the same. Only certain artists are able to do the different thing and Max wasn't one. Prince hadn't always put out good music (Crystal Ball, NPG) but he was Prince. Amy Winehouse is "ok"..a cross 'tween Shirley B%*$ey and maybe Billie but she's not someone I would listen to very often. There is truth to what TRAIN said because I don't know many black women who are down w/brotha airing their souls like this insecure dude. In fact, I believe Eric Benet has done that and you see how much love he gets..lol

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Shirley B.a.s.s.ey

Name: justafu
Comment: (except if you are a statutory rapist like R. Kelly LOL) Hey but don't get it twisted because even a pervert like R Kelly has stayed hot because his music has been selling!

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: Just, I feel you. I like Robin Thicke's music, I think he has a nice voice. But I definitely see your point. And poor Ursh! He got beat up on this board many times for speakin' his mind and lettin' his feelin's flow.

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: Jus, watchoutdere now, I like Kellz!

Name: justafu
Comment: Joss Stone!!!

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: Jus, I think Joss was a bit better in voice when she wasn't haven't all the noteriety. Now, it just sounds like she's strainin' to be somebody else.

Name: justafu
Comment: Hey Mothership your boy is definitely talented but he's "touched" too! LOL!!!

Name: Deb70
Comment: Personally, I don't care for men that refuse to show or talk about their emotions sometimes. That hard bullshyt gets tired. Speak, ni**a! And tell me what's on your mind! That's why men, and black men in particular, have so many heart attacks and strokes 'cause they always holding shyt in. I get so sick of having to ask a man what he's really feeling or thinking, and he doesn't wanna tell because he fears rejection or doesn't wanna seem soft. When that happens too often, I just leave. I have no interest in being in a relationship with a machine. I want a man that can be real sometimes.

Name: Angel
Comment: musb - That's because Benet cheated!!! Women don't wanna hear ish after that. LOL If Robin would've said he cheated because his wife blew up while he had no record deal, women would've attacked him like a pack of wolves.

Name: justafu
Comment: Yeah my gurl's been dealing with those bros too much so she's running around tlaking too much junk but she's settle down. Remember she's STILL very young!

Name: justafu
Comment: *...talking. Sorry.

Name: justafu
Comment: Deb70...not following you on that one. The reasons for the high incidents of heart attacks among black men are many, many more serious factors than that.

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: Jus, who the hell ain't?? CTFU! I'd rather roll with a crazy genius than a boring straight-laced azz in a heartbeat!

Name: Deb70
Comment: justafu--of course it's about more than that...but my points are still true and valid. And men expressing feelings does not make them soft. I get so tired of hearing that.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Deb...you must understand the who psychological thing of how black boys are raised. Even as children, black boys are not expected to be emotional. I'm sure you've experienced or at least heard the "boy's/men don't cry" thing. The openeness thing sounds great in theory. But "emotional" as a matter of practice is considered weak. MAybe for women on up in life..but by that time...men are settled in their personalities. So, a lot of guys don't get pass those initial "men do this" stage. Not an excuse..but an explanation...SD.

Name: Deb70
Comment: mus--I hear you. And I do know those things; I just tend to live in a fantasy world I guess and think that one day the guy will finally decide to open up, because it's not worth losing who or what is important to him. But maybe the who or what isn't that important...sometimes I don't know. But you are right; if it's ingrained in their personality, there won't be any change. I just wish black men weren't always raised to be so sheltered with their emotions. It makes relationships so hard sometimes.

Name: justafu
Comment: "And men expressing feelings does not make them soft. I get so tired of hearing that." In this case it's not about him or black men being soft...it's about being somewhat WACK! LOL!!

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: Deb70...one of my Brother's is like that and it bugs the shyt out of the rest of us...that he can't keep it real and ask for help. I like playing the role of being tough but if sumthing is bugging me...I ain't gonna punk out and tell everyone within ear shot except the one that should know...that's all I'm saying. "Contrary to rumours...Gigolo's/Thug's get lonely too...JK

Name: SweetieDarlin
Comment: Hey Musbe> You stealing my excuse/explanation line or are you someone else who often has to make that distinction? Anyway there is a truth to what is more acceptable the older you get so maybe that's why I'm feeling that, I do realize that is the discussion I get into with my younger co-workers, the 24-30 group of women are always calling men punks for whatever reason (yet they must like punks 'cause they are dealing with a bunch of guys they cuss out loudly on a daily basis and still date them---never wanted a cuy you could always talk to with such disrespect)

Name: SweetieDarlin
Comment: Oops, sorry Musbe> you already did my shout out cool, have a nice weekend everyone

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: MOTHERSHIP...you gotta watch those "Perfect" one's. Some of them are the biggest freaks...LOL

Name: Deb70
Comment: soul--You are funny. I would pay good money to be able to read a brotha's mind sometimes. Then again...that might be too much information for me... justafu--Aw, he's not wack. Y'all are hard on a white boy.

Name: Deb70
Comment: I know I'm "talking" a lot today, but just had to share, that this one guy I dealt with--whenever he felt himself getting too emotionally close to me, he would disappear for like a week--not contacting me. Then come back, and it would happen all over again. That mess got SO tired. It was because he couldn't deal with his feelings; I guess he didn't want to feel himself getting "mushy" about a woman. That constant running back and forth wore me out, and I let the relationship go. But before I finally did, I found myself becoming harder with him emotionally in return, and just stopped opening up to him altogether. It could have been a really nice relationship, I think. But that hard- azz stone wall he had up just would not come down. Life is so short and it just seemed like a waste. Big dummy.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: lolol...SD...yeah I always have to make that distinction but I read when you wrote that the other day and said "somebody get's it." People often say "that's an excuse" when sometimes it's really an explanation. There is a different. Most things change the older you get..perspectives, requirements etc. If you find a brotha then you have to stroke him so that he doesn't feel "less than a man" talking about the things you want. The whole "less than a man" thing is what it is. ME..I don't have that problem....lol

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: Deb70...LOL...you know the old saying 'A closed mouth don't get fed"..didn't know what that meant as a little boy but it makes sense now...HaHa...it's getting late up in here...I think I will jam sum Robin on the way home...

Name: Deb70
Comment: soul--that's a good one...

Name: 4mybabygirl
Comment: Uhmmm Boy, Andre was hurt'n tha!! White men need to get over the short or small guys syndrome. Get some confidence Robin Thicke. Since she married him, she could care less about another man whether they are black or white. He was good enough for her. But, if he keep on with the insecurities she will be gone. By the way loved the album! I will let it be known that I supported a brotha when I purchase my copy! I only paid $3.00! It is worht at least drop of it!

Name: akosuaa
Comment: After seeing him on Oprah a few weeks ago with is wife in the audience cryin her eyes out and tellin Ms O how much she loves him, how proud of him she is, etc. etc...and her acknowledging how she betta be careful of all these women swooning ova his %*$...I don't think boyfriend has anyting to worry about. Ok, I can see him being a lil worried; she hangin with Denzel...Andre..and who ever else she'll wind up on screen with (not a half bad actress)' but he ain't no slouch either! He's been writing and producing music forf MaryJ, Usher and who knows who else...and not half/bad at it either. So I think they both are on their way!
