Comment: Maturity is a beautiful thing. I applaud P. Miller for his stand and his candor in his respone to the number 1 one monkey in rap, Curtis 50 Cent Jackson. I'm sure BET will be upset with his comments, but as he said, it's a small price to pay for the greater good. Hats off to you Master P!

Name: tightendsport
Comment: I agree with you Tiedie! I really respect P. Miller. I saw where 50's cd came out...I refuse to buy anymore hip hop until these monkified 21st century step-n-fetchits stop the maddness. We ARE destroying our communities! Kudos Master P!

Name: temo67
Comment: I'm behind Master P 300%.I respect him and his actions.Personally speaking I feel BET is just hypocrits. One minute they are talking about HIV awareness, then the next minute they are showing uncut videos.Women grinding and kissing each other. Then the next minute spiritual shows.Let's not play with God.If we do not want other races using the N word then we ALL should stop using it.How's cursing and using the N word a form of art??? Miss me. We are what we feed our spirits.

Comment: Wow. this really makes 50 pennies look small. This is a grown %*$ man talking, not some knucklhead. I love how he calls him Curtis... I can almost forget that Dancing with the Stars mess. almost

Name: PlanetRock
Comment: I truly applaud Master P's stand, and I hope this brotha continues on his path to make a positive change within our culture. There is a movement growing and it is really time for all to rise up. 50 Cent's new song is stalling in the charts and his entire G-Unit group of artists are not doing well at all at radio and are selling fewer CD's than in the past. There will come a time when even 50 is dropped from Interscope and they will find a new person to take his place just like selling drugs on the street. It's time to strengthen our ties, come together and create for ourselves. Bring back black unity and positivity.

Name: TGen
Comment: Wow. Co-sign each and every comment thus far. I think it's fair to say that Master P didn't write that press release, but whatever person did should win an award, lol. He/she was able to articulate P's sentiment in a way that totally demasculated Mr. Curtis and even found a way to add a little promo on the end...business men never let an opportunity to advertise slip through, lol. On Curtis, I said before but will reiterate, he will be one of the "artists" who will have to be corrected by the market. The only way that he and his ilk will take this revolution seriously is if it hits his pockets, i.e. if folks stop supporting trash rap...and laughing at his idiocy. If you saw the press conference where Curtis made his statement, you know what I mean. The "artists" behind him couldn't stop laughing when he made the "P don't sell records" comment. Despite if it's true or not, I think it was telling to see them laugh and coax him so...it showed how far we have to go, that is how many of us still don't understand that this is not a game. *sigh*

Name: FiveMore
Comment: Tell him about it,Percy!I know 50/Curtis aint trying to bite the hand that fed him in his early career! After a while, his supporters will say 50 cent is wack or he has fallen off and he will become just like Jarule! His arrogance sickens me to my stomach!UGHHH!

Name: missutwo
Comment: I have always like Master P. Not so much his music. But the fact that when he got the money he wasn't stupid with it. He was the first rap artist I heard about that was buying real estate and investing his money in different business ventures. Master P has grown and become wiser in the game. Snoop should do the same.

Name: McNasty
Comment: I didn't expect that all of them would jump on the bandwagon - not as long as their is still an audience on one side and corporate dollars on the other. When it comes from the top down only then will all of them be singing the same note or going off into other businesses or just the unemployment line cause they can't come up with other lyrics or anything to rap about. Fiddy no doubt won't be the only one - I admire him for sticking to his guns whether I agree with him or not!

Name: Luke_Cage
Comment: "One, I can honestly admit that I was once part of the problem." -- bravo brotha. You don't hear that from rappers/CEO's everyday. Good for you man. And he addressed it to 50 cent like a man. No diatribe about taking it to the streets, gun clapping or any other rhetoric like that. Nicely done.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Master P..give me a break. I guess it's your time to shine now. At least you got the formula..appeal to women..that'll always save you. Fk outta here!

Name: leeneepoo
Comment: I agree with all posts! P put Curtis in his proper place and there can be no negative rebuttle from 50. There is nothing more that 50 can say or do in response to P's letter. Master P shut Curtis down and he should now feel like a penny with a hole in it...real hollow....

Name: BigCorporate
Comment: Okay, that was impressive. When he said that he admits he used to be a part of the problem - that was big and most dudes won't do that. 50 *sigh* is so ridiculous and I've always wondered what all the hype was about him. I once heard 50 on an interview say he'd never apologize or never take anything back. That's one of his problems...he thinks everything he says and does it right...no mature adult thinks that way.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Curtis can give the same response he gave last week. Master P doesn't sell records so he's irrelevant...both he and his son's career.

Name: TGen
Comment: Mushdherbs, your thoughts on this quote from P's press release: "Most artists' mission is to sell records. My mission is to help save and change lives."

Name: missutwo
Comment: >>>musbdherbs what does the fact that P is not selling any records have to do with his opinion being irrelevant?

Comment: Brava Mr. Miller.....Brava!!! I think it would be nice if the video and single "Self Destruction" were remastered and re-released? I love that video!! And like Marvin Gaye's "What'Going On", "Self Destruction" still rings true today!

Name: Renetta
Comment: Thank you Master P. And to all those that dissed him last week, you should be ashamed. THIS IS A REAL BLACK MAN. I'll buy his cds. I support BLACK MEN who RESPECT BLACK WOMEN.

Name: BigSexy
Comment: I applaud P. It will take a while but once their money starts to really run out, things will change. We have to stay united in this fight. They need to know we are serious about getting rid of negative rap music.

Name: FiveMore
Comment: barnone>Here,Here! The dumbing down of the African AMERICAN community is the absolute worst!XM RADIO is still running those Snoop Dogg commercials boldly on network televison everyday.I do not think the corporations care about cleaning up the lyrics at all!The lyrics dumb down all races equally, and I guess that is the main objective!IMO

Name: LonghornVic
Comment: I dont like 25cent at all, he is such a azz and he is going to get what is coming to him. I was glad to hear that Master P son was going to college at least if his rapping dont take off he can have something to fall back on.

Comment: It just warms my heart to see people making positive changes in their lives! I wish Percy Miller & his son the best of luck with the positive movement. I am proud that he has decided to make a positve stand against all of the negativity. I applaud his efforts and hopefully more artists will follow in his footsteps.

Name: barnone
Comment: FIVE> yes of course that's exactly their objective. to keep the masses asleep and mentally enslaved and trapped n a downward cycle. remember what woodson wrote, when u can control a person's thinking there is no need to physcially bound them.

Name: HHCassius
Comment: While I do think 50's comment was funny, and find it does kinda ring true as far as P not selling records much now, I find it quite heartening that Master P has gone out on a limb and taken the higher road to be a symbol of righteousness. However, even 50 had a point talking about P's relevancy. If he's not selling records, is this stance hurting any of HIS duckets? And if he was, would he be saying the same thing? 50's not an idiot, perhaps misguided, but definitely a shrewd businessman.

Name: khufu
Comment: Much respect and admiration for the Brother...

Name: bigheadbull2
Comment: He could have written this after all he does have a college education can curtis say he same? Not. Also maybe with his smart investments and real estate holdings making records is not a priority. If the name of the game is making loot I would think real estate and investment holdings will do the trick just nicely, thank you very much

Name: khufu
Comment: now what did Curtis Jackson say?

Name: FiveMore
Comment: Boot>You are crazy!I'm still lol @ your rendition of "Oh Happy Day!"Ha!Ha!too funny.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: TGen..I'm not a fan of "pre-written" press releases because they're always so political that they often don't get the artists message out right. But they have to be done so..oh well. It's noble for anyone to become actively involved in this struggle. But, I believe people have as equal a chance actually listening to Percy like people listening to Adina Howard talking about feminism. The relevance question is not irrelevant. K-R-S been talking bout this for years and he's always been in between jobs giving symposiums for years...who's been listening. It's just gonna take someone of more importance to move this, I don't believe P is the one. If he is...good. Not that I'm doubting his sincerity but if he's "not trying to get artists to change..cuz that's how they make their money," then what exactly is he trying to do? *finger under chin*

Name: TGen
Comment: Musdherbs, point well-taken...and I agree with you on the irrelevance=revelant thing. I actually had the same initial thought when P came out with his "Now I'm positive" announcement, lol. But there are other ways to promote change than just trying to get [headstrong] "artists" to change their ways. Change can come from the CONSUMER and a demand for OTHER artists, ie allowing those thousands of others who are pushed aside a chance to show something different. So unlike you I don't think the change has to come from one "significant" rapper or the demand...the change will come from the consumer or the supply. WE will be ultimate test of if Curtis Jackson stays "relevant" in our households. Just my opinions...

Name: ccognac
Comment: You go P!!! I love this comment: money don't make me, I make money. My goal is to educate our people in building generational wealth and knowing how important it is to own real estate. Four, I'm a TRUE entrepreneur; my boss is God not Jimmy Iovine. From one brother to another, if you misunderstand my purpose you could always pick up the phone or talk to me in person.

Name: star
Comment: 50 has made a career out of blasting on other artists, that's his thing, that's what he does, but it is very immature. Right now 50 feels like he's on top of the world, record sales can make you feel like you're a king, but fame is a mutha just watch those VH-1 and E Hollywood stories. Master P, lyrically won't go down in history, but he is a smart man.

Name: mseffy
Comment: MUSBETHEHERBS>> I absolutely co-sign with you. There is such a stick of late regarding hip-hop lyrics and the general indifference of the hip-hop generation. Breaking through such a 'cloud of smoke' (HAHA)takes far more than good intentions. I hope Master P can generate support from those he named, but we will all have to wait and see; who knows, perhaps if Master P is successful I'll have to re-consider my opinion of this generation...perhaps!!!

Name: mseffy
Comment: 'stink' of late

Name: Kulchaman
Comment: i dig the delivery Master P came with, really seen to expand on his growth from the days when he was heavy in the rap game, even his music was reality on life, still a lot of down south classic bangers !!!

Name: Southernbelle
Comment: TGen>Don't sleep on P. He's actually a very articulate guy. We went to high school together. Yes, He still carries that Southern slur but he can still hold an intelligent conversation, when he's out of his persona. True, he does not sell reocrds anymore but I truely believe his sincerity. He lost one brother to the grave due to violence and another to the pen. He knows first hand what perpetuating violence can lead to. By his own words his motivation is his son and I can't imagine anyone knocking a man for trying to be a better example for another young, black male.

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: Funny how people buy into the Myth that all Hip-Hop 'stars' are not as intelligent as themselves. Master P is no dummy, look at P's %*$ets and guidence of his Son.

Name: ladyfado
Comment: Bravo, Master P. You finally woke up. Maybe now we will see more Black men and women waking up, and taking some personal agency--and grabbing the reins of real leadership. The Curtis Jacksons of the world will not stand the test of time, but one small voice for positive change can and will start a revolution!

Name: TGen
Comment: Southernbelle, maybe you're right. Maybe he did write that press release. I'm sure he had major say-so in it at the very least...but just judging by the interviews I've heard him give, including the latest one with Al Sharpton, I just don't see it. But that's beside the point...it was a well-written, well thought-out press release...

Name: soulmusic101
Comment: a.s.s.e.t.s.

Name: iknowtheplans
Comment: Master P has invested his money well which has created wealth and power. Selling records is not a guarantee or either. It is this wealth and power that has opened the door for negotiations with the likes of Walmart and Target. At a time when hip-hop sales are down 21% for 2005-2006, and Curtis' own music is stale and stalled, bro' might want to take a cue from Master P, Ludacris, et al. The people who initially purchased Curtis' music are growing and maturing; they are DECIDING what they want to hear and raising children who they have DECIDED should not hear his "music." Hip-hop used to wow its audience with the sheer amazement at what could be done with the language, rhythms, beats, hooks. IT WAS INNOVATIVE. Curtis has diminished hip-hop and purchase-power-people are waking up and withdrawing the funds. That's life and that's business.

Name: ccognac
Comment: For those who question Master P's motives for writing this letter, it's a response to a sh!t talking comment 50 made and called P out. Here's the comment: Bailey used Master P as an example of a rapper who made the decision to sign positive rappers from now on who do not use the three aforementioned words in their lyrics. “Well Master P doesn’t sell CDs anymore,” 50 said calmly, which caused the room full of reporters to burst out laughing. “You can tell him I said it. Cameras is rollin’ right? …‘Curtis,’ June 26.”

Name: oldsoul
Comment: Taking personal responsibility heals and empowers. P, that was real talk and I respect it.

Name: 2ndChance
Comment: I know that's right, Master P. I almost shed a tear. I'm not exactly certain what the remarks regarding master P were but he definitely came back with a mature response.

Name: Mr_NotGuilty
Comment: From the day of the IMUS statements I refuse to listen to any station that plays contemporary hip hop.

Name: katgrrrl
Comment: I've admired P as a businessman; was never really into his music. But, this... Beautiful. I see the brother in a whole different light now.

Name: 2ndChance
Comment: It definitely seems like something that P would say. You can tell when there is no semblance of the artists words in a press release. This reads like the Master P I'm accustomed to hearing.

Name: MrsPhoenix
Comment: Sounds like Mr. Miller has taken Min. Farrakhan's advice...

Name: sdedee
Comment: Keep doin it P. Record sales doesn't dictate quality music, it could be a bunch of idiot consumers fell for the trick. Tell me you never bought a CD that you wish you hadn't because it was pure ish!!, and it still hit plat stat. With the industry and its pay to play system we are being brainwashed to like certain music. Think about it, that song you hated you soon find yourself singing along(because they are playing the same 5 to 10 songs. If this wasn't the case we would still have djs and not radio personalities. Radio used to introduce new artist and new music, that doesn't happen anymore unless the artist is backed by a big corporate machine. Wake up people does the word bamboozle mean ANYTHING to you!!!!

Name: PRDC
Comment: Like Master P said he was once that type to use profanity and disrespecting names for females. Now he see that it was or is the wrong way to go and I believe 50 Cent will do the same. Its all in ones time and not any one else. Fiddy is a very good rapper...I don't like when he curses alot in his music and I always said and still believe that he can sell more music without all of that. His background music is out of this world like no other. Just give them all time to turn it around...they will...whether you consider them igorant of what, we all do things in our time and when it meant for us to change. I like him and I will continue to buy his music. I'm no ho or %*$!( and I know the difference. I'm so sure that most of you commenting on this article still to this day may call people out of there names....its really no difference.....give it time and hopefully we all will change and come together for a change......

Name: leeneepoo
Comment: Master P has an educational degree. I always said that Knowledge is power..and that is something that Curtis does not acquire...a level of knowledge to know the difference. Curtis attempts to utilize his street smarts and put a certain mis-understood and misguided educational twist to justify what he speaks of and does. My daughter just said it best: "50 is a comedian, he is not a rapper"....I can surmise this by eluding to "50 actually thought that he was going to get a rise or beef out of P". But 50 got his whole smart relic comment shattered into pieces...real talk, real stand up educated brother.

Name: katgrrrl
Comment: 2ncChance: When P spoke of his son and how he wants better for him, I got mushy too. Sdedee: Your post is so on the money!

Name: Shayshay
Comment: Master P I applaud you for your letter to Curtis. It is not only fitting for Curtis, but also to the audience reading it. There is an old saying, "If you don't stand for something; you will fall for anything. I think that is what has happened to so many rappers. They don't take a stand. Whatever the others do, they follow. It takes a strong individual to take a stand and be a leader. Although I am not in the industry; I do write and I am very particular about what I write. Because as you said, God is your boss and so many forget from whence they came. Just as God giveth, He can take away. If more people in the industry would become aware of where their gift came from in the first place, they would more than likely be careful in how they are perceivee. The Bible ask, "Am I not thy brother's keeper?" Yes, we all are and whatever impressions we leave on our youth, we will be held responsible for it. Again, I applaud you; and am very proud to have you stand up for what you believe and to have your son take the stand with you. We all have done things that the Almighty wasn't proud of; but we have to make a change. Thank you for being the man the real Master called you to be. In your corner, Shayshay

Name: MOTHERSHIP
Comment: Iknowtheplans, tell it. P owns half of New Orleans and has invested in other ventures as well. I appreciate the fact that there is no stagnation in his game and I respect his gangsta. Hey, Oldsoul, my derrty!

Name: Mas90
Comment: Master P came out on top. Maturity is an adult thang. 50 now really looks like 50 cent. 50 acted just like a baskstabbing black man. P funded his tour in the south. DAMNN! Someone helps your asss out big time and u go stabbing them in the back. Typical. Who needs friends when you got enemies.

Name: YLawdY
Comment: This says it all: " I am not asking any other hip-hop or gangsta rap artist change what they do; that's how they make their money. Furthermore, I am not a preacher; I'm just telling the world what I'm doing and the changes that I am making because it's something I want to do."

Name: naturalsista
Comment: Interesting article. Kudos to owning up to past misdeeds and on moving forward in your thinking and development. Even though Percy could afford to send his son to college, I read where Romeo received a full atheletic scholarship to U.S.C.

Name: TesticAl
Comment: I have no problem with Master P. I just don't believe that he put up the money for 50's tour in the South. When 50 first came out in 99, Master P was still thick in the game with the No Limit Soldiers and he wasn't working with any outside artists except Montell Jordan. Now, LMAO at how all of the "OLDIES" here hate 50. You can go back to the archives on this board and check for any thread that 50 was in when he first came out and you will see these same old people on his dick.

Name: TesticAl
Comment: naturalsista, Romeo didn't get a full athletic scholly to USC. He is going to try to walk on to the basketball team. I'm not saying he didn't get a scholarship, but I know he didn't get a full athletic one.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: So the only thing a rapper needs to do is put out a press release that you agree with and he will miraculously turn intelligent? Not just intelligent, he would've always been intelligent and even some went to school w/him so they "really" know the deal. *Looking into my crystal ball* Hmmm...is this the same Master P who round this time last year was dissing bow wow and urging him to fight Romeo in a pay per view fight? Was he always so intelligent then? Now I'm all for what he wants to do..my issue is these glorious revelations going on in here. Kanye was king big brotha almighty up in here when he made that statement bout Bush. 2 months later...he was ignorant. 2 months before..we couldn't stand him. Now he's back to being ignorant. Just don't wait until someone speaks your language before you'll authenticate their intelligence. That means, hmmm..well maybe I dont' agree w/Russell's approach but it can make a difference. Oh wait! we can't do that...it's too late for him..he should've done that a long time ago when he was profiting off of this horrible music.

Comment: MOTHERSHIP> You know it's you, derty sista luv - we still on the same page of a Black book. Herbs> Co-sign with that...more real talk. It will always be the case as long as our folk get conrolled by everything outside the mind instead of what's [potentially] in it.

Name: TGen
Comment: PRDC: your whole post is a contradiction...and I felt deflated after reading it. If there are many others who think like you, i.e. "I don't like all that cursing and stuff but I'll still buy it," we will never get over the hump. I hope you reconsider supporting what you know to be detrimental to your community...despite the "tight beats." P.S. If the "tight beats" mean that much to you, write Dr. Dre who creates Curtis' beats and ask him to give the beats to an artists who'll do them real justice. Kay?

Name: Southernbelle
Comment: musb>Never did I imply that I know the "real" deal b/c I went to school with him. My point was simple. I can believe that P wrote or, at the very least, played a major role in the writing of the press release. I based this assumption on the fact that I've heard him speak when he was Percy Miller prior to becoming Master P. Heck, he attended a magnet high school, so I would expect that he could, at a least, put out an articulate press release. You're are correct, it was just recently that he tried to start a beef between Romeo and Bow Wow and that was tacky to the highest power. But, I still admire his current stance even if his only motivation is to set a better example for his children.

Name: TesticAl
Comment: I just noticed something, LMAO at people on here calling 50 "Curtis" all of sudden!LMMFAO! Most of you don't even know why people started calling him that. Comment: Fyuck Curtis!!!!

Name: TGen
Comment: Testic Al, I decided to use Curtis in my posts because I thought the effect of doing that in P's press release was right-on. It totally shrinks his "I'm 50 Cents, hear me roar" persona and provides an accurate picture of him as just a little guy trying to get paid like the next man...and he can get dealt with like the next man too. So here and henceforth, tis Curtis Jackson, lol. I luv it!

Name: TesticAl
Comment: Ok TGen, I'll take that. What I don't understand on here is, WHY DON'T PEOPLE Like 50 on here! LOL! People say "he disses everyone". Name: TesticAl
Comment: fuzzygoss, what up! I haven't seen you post in a minute. To answer your question, YOU CARE. If you didn't you wouldn't have responded to my post. You would have just kept it rollin'. You did make me laugh with the "Bling Blinging with Becky, Shaniqua, and Boniqua". The funny part is, I know a HUGE KNOCKERED broad name Shanika! LMAO!

Name: TesticAl
Comment: Nitabnpg, I disagree with your statement 100%. Knowledge and wisdom comes with "LEARNING", not age. I know I'm usually combative with people, but not this time, I just disagree with your statement.

Name: archcookies
Comment: I think Master P is moving in the right direction. It seems reasonable to me that 50 cent would shoot him down, he is so ingnorant and crass and he worships at the altar of the almighty dollar. Money is great but you have got to stand for something.

Comment: At the risk of being beat down, I like fiddy's music....the music part since I don't always know what he's saying and the few times I've actually heard him speak he was articulate. I just like making fun of his manimal looks.

Comment: Once again I take my hats off in respect to Mastr P for making a bold step forward to make a positive difference. He has always been an inspiration as an entrepreneur. But now he is proving to be a humanitatrian. May we all take the best that we have and do the most that we can to make a psitive change in the present, which will brighten our future. Comment: Master P reaction to 50 was mature POINT Blank! 50 took the easy way by making point that his past album has sold well but Master P has had album sale success as well. He doesn't pull it as he used too. Typical artist shelf life. Shiiiet Patti LaBelle doesn't sell either. But she is respected as an artist. 50 could've given Master P the same respect for still being in the game. Master P uses his cash to release his albums. 50 used record label finances. 50 is just causing a silly high school riff just "look" like a bigger man but he after P's response 50 looks like 5 cents now. Looks like P took him to the candy shop.

Comment: Testic and when they check the archives my posts on a Fiddy board will be the same. I don't knock the brother - won't cause there are too many others for folk to listen to to always come to a board with his name on it just to post ignant as.s negative comments which makes some no better than what they think of this man anyway. I guess we can't see it when it's us only when it's someone we claim to dislike. It's ridiculous knowing what we all know about rappers to expect them to be civic minded or to follow anything going mainstream or coming from mainstream. I thought the reason rap was so popular was because it pushed the envelope not because it followed along the primrose path. While I never liked any of the language I realized where it came from and you can not - if you consider yourself half way educated - blame this whole mess on rappers, any one rapper or just the generation. There are a whole lot of forces that came together to create this madness and until they are taken apart piece by piece to jump on anyone bandwagon I guess is an exercise in futility cause it took more than one to get here.

You speak on shyt that you're not apart of. I've seen you claim that you don't don't listen to rap/watch rap videos. With that said, when a post about a rapper/hip-hop related pops off, you're the first nun in here ranting and raving. I want him to be better and do better - and that is why he is taking the time to pursue a college degree..." Herbs that answers your statement "yes" he was the one doing that immature stuff egging on a fight..but can't a brother change their behavior? can't a brother look into their own crystal ball and see that the life styles that they once cultivated and adored was wrong behavior at that particular time whether it was just last year on in the days of NO LIMIT?..can't a brother speak on how they feel at that moment esp. when another brother thought that he punked him out?...I know you would retaliate whether like P or like PaC..the choice was P's and he choose to take the man-up stance and not bend over like 50....

Comment: Congrats to Percy for the intelligent response to Fifty's comments. Musb did you not understand when PM said he use to be part of the problem? Whatever beef(s) he had in past he just admitted it...now it is time to be mature and move higher. Also he did not contradict himself by saying rappers can do their thing and make their money; he's just saying...as for him and his house they are going to be more positive. The only control anyone has is over their domain. He can't make rappers positive no more the Fifty can make people think PM is irrelevant. Someones relevance does not come from popularity. I have no problem with 50;...however as my grandmother says...shyt sinks and hope floats. If only he used his powers for good and not evil. I have much respect for PM or anyone who makes a positive change with the way AAs are viewed in this industry.

Comment: I never like Master P. With that said, I dont understand how some here can pat him on the back for a job well done. He is a fake azz. I saw him on (of all things) Fox news over the weekend trying to talk all proper and everything. I was shocked...not that he would speak proper english, but that he didnt appear to have such a strong accent either. He is a media wh0re. Plain and simply and NO he shouldnt be applauded for his fake sincerity, and someone elses words. Mind you, this is the same man that was trying to make his son fight for money. Like a dog fight or something. This is also the man that performed on "Dancing with the Stars". It is apparent that he will jump on any bandwagon as long as he can get himself some press. But if yall want to fall for it, then more power to ya. He's a fool.

Comment: 1st off,'herb' I am neither a supafan of 50 or P, I listen to what ever is rocking on the radio at the time. But I do need to enlighten you on P's history. Before No Limit, or the Soldier-- he was a student at University of Houston after turning down a basketball scholarship at University of Kentucky. Neither school is a punk when it comes to their acdemic requirements.Even though he grew up in the projects of New Orleans, he still attended a private school in garde school. Tha brother is no dummy. You cannot make 500 mill and be stupid. Everyone else, while I don't doubt he wants the best for his kids,P is a business man, he saw an opportunity to make money and he's doing it. He does not have to break off most of his profits to a record company, so he doesnt have to hustle as hard as most of the artists out there today. Whether a record goes gold platinum or black-- he still profits. "If it don't make dollars, it don't make sense." By the same token, 50 is his own publicist, doesnt he have a record out/coming out? As long as his name is in the press, people will look at him, listen to his records. It's business. And lastly---- GROW UP!!!!! All of this crap means nothing. Rap is never gonna change. Not as long as the 'Whyt' record company conglomerates and distributors continue to make the billions that they do. Press is press, the more press, the more money (because of the heightened interest) the more money to be made. Its all run by the ones with the $$$$. Are you all really cant be naive enough to think any of these artists can individually make a decision to no longer use a certain kind of language? They Have No Power!!!!!!!! They will be sent back to the studio to rerecord faster than u can blink an eye. As for all of you baby boomers that keep complaining how rap/hip-hop is denegrating our culture,it is doing no more harm than the 'wild' days of the 60's and the following blaxploitation/drugs r us era of the 70's.

I just want you to really know that your opinions are just that and to let anything that is said to me or about me on a discussion board is akin to madness. I have a real life honey and trust me this ain't it. But let me say this about Master P he's got more balls, class and insight in his little finger than you have in your whole body. Delores Tucker tried back in the day to change the rappers and everybody was against her, now that a white man decided to be stupid and used it wrongly adn was fired, what happened when they didn't get caught, I didn't hear them going out saying it was wrong until now, now its wrong for everybody. Comment: I read a copy of a police report that says Curtis (50), didn't get shot 9 times, only 3. Is it true??? Inquiring minds want to know!

Name: iknowtheplans
Comment: I prefer calling him Curtis; 50 cent is a moniker that's not even originally his. That goes to my point. Hip hop publicly displays such a loss of originality that the "rappers" rely on "beefs" and BET for marketing. Free style, what do you think Curtis is cabable of? That's what I thought so WHY buy his stuff? There ARE DEFINITELY great rappers/artists still in the business; it's time for them to have their chance for our support. As you know better, you do better. And as Percy has demonstrated, ain't nothing wrong with growing up. I like wordplay and the the dominance of language that is demonstrated in hip hop so Curtis was NEVER on my list. Now we might not all agree with the motives of either of these rappers but I respect your right to your opinion.

Name: TesticAl
Comment: iknowtheplans, I can understand where you are coming from and I have no problem with your point/opinion. Can I point something out to you? You said 50 Cent is a moniker that's not originally his. That is true. Everyone knows he looked up to the robber/drug dealer 50 Cent. I understand that 100. With that said, are you going to call The Game by his real birth name "Jayceon"? The Game's moniker isn't originally his either. If you didn't know, there is a wrestler named Triple H, who called himself "The Game" YEARS before the game came out.

Name: SouthernYankee
Comment: Standing ovation to Percy. We all need to boycott 50 until he gets some real sense.

Name: CaramelDimples
Comment: KUDOS to Master P! You've "manned-up!" There are artists who like to talk like the responsible, but still take advantage of the people they exploit. Let's see Mr. Simmons admits he helped create the problem. The 'New York State of Mind' doesn't allow for confessions (pleas); 'you just have to learn to live with regrets.' There's also something to say that's real interesting when you've made a certain amount of $$$, then you grow a conscience. What's for real? WTF?!?!

Name: staszzi
Comment: #1 ---PRDC and MsFresno...BRAVO!!! You see it for what it is. Why most of yall are arguing and disrespecting each other , these two probably hanging out and laughing. This is another classic '50' beef. He creates them daily. Its publicity. It creates a buzz, which creates $$$$. #2, Once again-P loves to make money. If they come out with a hip/hop hula hooping trio tomorrow, you can bet one of the Miller clan will be doing rock/paper/scissors to see who gets the best costume. As long as it has a good b%*$ beat, i'm down with it. lol

Name: staszzi
Comment: Hey, didn't know the site would automatically censor words. I didn't curse (lol) I only put the words 'base beat '(take out the e, add an s on the b word). live and learn!!

Comment: Testic: I didn't know that about the name "the Game." Hmmm, based on these rappers skills and personas, what would you name them?

Name: TesticAl
Comment: iknowtheplans, we're cool. I just wanted to point out that your reason for calling 50 "Curtis" his real name was unfair. There are a lot of rappers that fall into the same category. Now, you asked me what would I name them? Hell, let me think! LOL! Which rapper do you want me to name? LOL!

Name: TesticAl
Comment: Let me get back to the lecture at hand for a quick second. This letter by Master P is some BULLSHYT! Note: Master P is cool in my book. P isn't relevant to the rap world anymore, no one will listen to him. You people must have forgot, The Ice Cream Man (PLEASE KNOW WHAT ICE CREAM IS) made his millions TALKING ABOUT THE SAME THINGS AS 50! Now that P can't sell anymore he wants to change. Ehhhh.

Comment: I agree 110%. I am a mother of two boys and my husband and I are making sure our boys grow up to be positive and that they have positive role models to shape them, and that starts with us first. Everyone knows what they see, the will be, and in 2007 when your skin is still your sin, we as a people have to do better. How can we do better if we ACT like we don't know better. 50 is childish, now I am all for free speech, but where do we draw the line, is money that important when the things we do and say are degrading. I guess as long as you can laugh all the way to the bank ........... why care about anything else. It is really sad to me.
