Comment: No special treatment for Isaiah Washington. NBC fired Imus for being insensitive, so ABC is justified in doing the same thing to Isaiah. Oh well - he should've kept his mouth shut!

Name: whatdat
Comment: This is sad. He didn't stand up for himself and he was still kicked to the curb. Not only was he fired, but the dirty rats referred back to 1997 to try to ruin his career. Hopefully, the brother has learned a lesson, that is, make amends but maintain strength of character. Mr. Washington would have been better off if he had. White America hates to see a Black man show strength, and he would've gotten fired if he had. But he got fired anyway after bending over backwards to please them, so he would have been better off personally if he had taken a stance.

Comment: black or white. people have to learn to think before speaking. well i think the show knew they were going to fire him before he did those promo's etc, and played him like a Stradivarius virtuoso.... i am sure he will get on somewhere else.... So lets see..the brotha on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES - GONE!..another brotha on GREY'S ANATOMY - GONE!...who's next? slowly one by one they fall from these shows.

Comment: No doubt Black men are scarce on the top shows, but in this case this isn't White against Black - this is Isaiah Washington publicly saying something stupid. If he had just said it on the set that would've been one thing -- but this genius said the same thing on national television. I don't think that 1997 incident had anything to with him getting fired. The gay lobby is as powerful as the female lobby -- and many of the gay organizations were upset and threatened to boycott the advertisers, just like Black folks did when Don Imus said something equally as insensitive and stupid.

Name: missgee
Comment: People have said worse and kept their jobs. Isaiah is a good actor and I hope he gets another job on a different network. Lets hope his replacement is another black actor.

Name: alexander1906
Comment: Isaiah reaped what he sowed. Maybe he will be humbled by the situation and not be a pompous AZZ. This is not a black and white issue! People kill me trying to make this a race issue when it is not. If this happened in the real world, he would have been fired immediately. Isaiah was a tumor and he needed to be removed before he became cancerous.

Name: McNasty
Comment: I knew it! After the gay mafia exacted their punishment they made sure the ax fell! They all but humiliated this man with all those inane apologies and then a psa ad, which thank God I've never seen.

Name: nycGYRL888
Comment: Well put Alexander1906! But this truly was something he should have expected. Just because its a #1 show does not mean you are not expendable. This really should teach him a lesson. Maybe he should try movies.

Comment: Goodbye Grey's!I hope this talenetd young man will be allowed to work in "politically correct" Hollywood. Can he work in a place ran by GLAAD activist etc.?What's the alternative at this point in Isaiah's career? These are the breaks.**sigh**

Name: BlkATLTop
Comment: McNasty- I am not sure if you work or where you work, but most people would be fired for saying what Isaiah said (at least in corporate America- and ABC fits that category).

Name: BlkATLTop
Comment: Mediatakeout reported this several weeks ago but Isaiah's camp denied it.

Name: Pamalicious
Comment: In addition to Isaiah's comments, he made to main players on the show uncomfortable, many have gone on record to say that they would not work with him.....

Comment: This is fucced up man....Ok, so he made a dumbazz comment...Hollyweird ain't the real world...Those words are tossed all over the place...He apologized went into rehab(?) Whateva the he11 that was...He even did some TV spots...The only thing he didn't do was give 'em his kidney...Personally, I liked his character...C'mon, how many strong Black dudes do ya see on the tube?...I'm probably gonna pass on Grey's next season...He11, they didn't even have a Black person in the new group of interns...It's gonna turn into the McDreamy and Grey show...What dude is gonna watch that?...I hope Ike finds a new gig...Make that call to Tyler Perry man...Hopefully Spike can put him inna joint...This is a bit different from Imus...Imus said his sh1t on a Nationally syndicated show...Ike spoke during filming...No one woulda heard 'bout this if somebody didn't rat him out....

Comment: i know people are going to get made when i say this but isaih getting fired is gay as hell. he got fired cause people are overly sensitive to those guys and im tired of them says they are just like us cause they are not. isaih should sue. point blank.

Name: whynotme
Comment: he did all that azz kissing for nothing and they still fired him.....he should have told them to suck his d*ck but then again some of those fairies would have took him up on that offer.

Name: butterpecanrican
Comment: NueNue: I'm a lil curious. You said that he got fired b/c peole are overly sensitive. So if someone on your job called you a N*gger or some other offensive term, you'd be ok with it and keep it moving?

Name: BlkATLTop
Comment: Nue-Nue: A lawsuit over what?

Name: poeticlyspkng
Comment: Oh, I am surprised. I don't think the show will be the same without him. I am mad as hell right with him!!!

Name: andryce76
Comment: he deserved it for being stupid. i don't care who is gay and who ain't as much money as that fool was making every week he should have kept his mouth closed. if he doesn't like gays that's fine you keep that sh-t to yourself you are on a national hit show and those producers are not having anybody mess that show up especially when you got alot of homosexuals watching the show. so he brought it on himself and then gonna say it again at the awards show how dumb could he be. if he ever get's the chance again i'll bet he keeps his mouth closed them people paying his azz to act not be stupid

Name: gingerg
Comment: This is too much today. The man practically begged and groveled to keep his job. Worse things have been said and done. This is just a power play by "the community." I'll never watch the show again. Apparently, Shonda isn't running things around there.

Name: TGen
Comment: Confession: Never seen one episode of "G-A." "House" was always my preference. But on the article, first off, what a poorly-written article. To just mention that Isaiah had issues since 97 and then NOT MENTION WHAT THE ISSUES WERE is soooo sorry, torture to a thorough reader. That would have done A LOT in the way of better understanding the firing, as in if this "insensitivity" thing is something he made into a habit, the firing would seem more justified, but I digress. I'm inclined to agree with NueNue and others who correctly call this what it is: another strike from the overly-powered gay "mafia." The gay agenda is one that tries to equate Blacks' plight with homosexuals'--a grave even insulting, highly flawed comparison. But it's clear those of the gay agenda have something a lot of others don't--POWER in the entertainment industry. No doubt they wielded their power here and again came up victorious. Disclaimer: not saying what Isaiah said wasn't STOOOPID, (moreso the REPEAT of the "slur" at the award show than the one at filming), but all the subsequent idiotic manuevers like becoming a spokesperson for gay groups, etc. is evident of homosexual power in Hollyweird. *Sigh* Ultimately though, I think his career will bounce back, at least with Black audiences...

Name: gingerg
Comment: This is doubly sad because of the scarcity of decent roles for black male actors and actresses. This opportunity won't come for Isaiah again. He was practically living out of his car before he landed Grey's Anatomy.

Name: sweetpea
Comment: Fair is fair. He should have been fired. There should be zero tolerence of this behavior no matter if your black, white, purple or green.

Name: letmein
Comment: Boot==you do know he did get on one of the awards show and said it again? Well, he cleaned it up by saying "I didn't call anyone a faggot" **faints at his stupidiness**

Name: golfebj
Comment: Great acting does not excuse poor character.

Name: Gurlfrand
Comment: It's his own fault. Why would you go mess up your gig - on purpose, where you get your paycheck, and not think there would be repercusions? What a dumb azz....sorry, IW.

Name: McNasty
Comment: BlkATL not sure why you come for me but I work for a university and have worked in corporate america and not everywhere would fire a person for what he said and especially in the context of the situation. Work environments are not as tight as.s as some make them out to be. In the heat of the moment a person is subject to say anything and the fact of the matter is had this situation not been given so much media attention - had it been left between those co workers where it belonged, this man would still be employed. So thank you for allowing me my very own opinion.

Name: QueenCityBee
Comment: Andryce76>Your post was probably exactly what his wife told him. I have to co-sign with you. But, who amoung us didn't see this coming. Ike say what he meant. However the man tried to make him not mean what he said and fired has black azz anyway. Fluck it move on.

Name: katgrrrl
Comment: That 1st line of the article says it all, "To almost no one's surprise...." 95% of H'wood's gay. You can't go around makin' slurs like that, H'wood or anywhere. If the tables were turned and someone called Isaiah a n*****, I'm sure he'd want 'em kicked to the curb. If that's how he feels about homosexuals, that's on him, but there's a time and a place. Sometimes, ya gotta bite your tongue. He shoulda kept that mess to himself.

Name: BlkATLTop
Comment: Okay McNasty- I have a bet... go call one of your co-workers at your University a fag and tell us all on Monday what happened to you.

Name: SpecialK
Comment: Too bad Isaiah. You should have stopped after the first "faggot" comment. But nooooooo, you had to go and repeat it again this time on national tv. Hard head makes a soft azz! By the way, T.R. Knight is such a gay-azz!! LOL!

Name: gingerg
Comment: Ok. Is Boris Kodjoe going to replace him or what?

Name: ImJustAsking
Comment: Is this really true?

Name: ImJustAsking
Comment: blakatl<I had the same convo with Mcnasty last time and she told me the same thing. Her work environment must be much more republican than ours b/c there is NO name calling allowed in the federal government. Mcnasty< y'all must not have an HR dept! Anyhow, I think it's kinda messed up that that they led him on like this for so long. At least they just went ahead and fired my boo Imus.

Name: MissBee
Comment: I think most of you are missing the real reason why he was fired. It wasn't because he said faggot twice. Isiah is a butthole. What about when he attacked Patrick Dempsey on set? What about all of his butthole actions before the faggot incident. And, he's been a butthole for years which is probably why we have scarcely seen him in anything until now. But, that is why he was fired. People were fed up with him acting like a man child. And a spoiled one at that! This has nothing to do with GLAAD even though he gave them fuel for the fire. If he had any redeeming qualities, Shonda would have kept him but he made everyone's life on set miserable. That's what he gets. Just because you are on a hit show run by a black woman doesn't mean you have carte blanche to act a fool. It reminds me of how black folk will ask for a discount in a black owned store but not in a white owned store. Talk about taking a big piece of humble pie!

Name: gingerg
Comment: I hear you, Ms Bee. He had an extensive pattern of misconduct and I'm sure ABC was investigating to determine their liability. He was creating what is called a hostile work environment. They had to weigh advantages of keeping him against the possibility of more bad behavior and continued staff tension. In the end, not worth it. I just hate to see this because he has blown millions because he couldn't keep his mouth shut. You don't have to say everything that comes to mind. You know the wife is hot as he11 about now.

Name: gingerg
Comment: No, that was just wishful thinking on my part. I still haven't gotten over the cancellation of Soul Food. In fact, I never will. Boris could pull it off and it would be a good opportunity for him. He could sure give the McSteamy and McDreamy a run for their money, too. Hot! Did you see the picture of him and his son, Nicolas, on the cover of Ebony? Too cute!

Name: Winn30344
Comment: What caused the blowup? Oh yeah..TR Knight was holding up productions with hizzy fits and temper tantrums and being late, etc...somehow that seems to be lost in all these ranting on Isaiah!!

Name: barnone
Comment: okay imma put my 2 cents n and then i'm gone. please someone correct me if i'm wrong. but did IW not get n an arguement with a co-worker and in the midst of that arguement tell said co-worker he was not his faggot like the gay n question? if this is n fact the case i'm having a bit of difficulty drawing the correlation 2 this and don imus going on nationally syndicated radio referring to some black women as nappy headed hoes. hmmmm. okay, next to all of those whom this applies PLEASE STOP COMPARING THE HOMO PLIGHT TO THE BLACK PLIGHT. apples and peanuts okay. and lastly for those who keep wondering why those are making this a blk/yt issue...CLUE in amerikkka 99% of the time even when it ain't it is.

Name: gingerg
Comment: Does anyone think there's a tad bit of racism on the part of GLAAD in all of this? Would they have gone after anyone else with such a vengeance?

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: C'mon how Black folks in here have been accused of creating a hostile invironment?....He11, you can go into work, do a fantastic job, mingle a bit and one fuccing day you don't say good morning or you decline a bagel with cream cheese...you'd rather have a fried egg on a hard-roll...Or God forbid you have difference of opinion..."No, I think Magic was better than Bird"...Yo Black azz could be accused of creating a hostile environment....This is utter BS

Comment: Boot- this N1gga choked one of his co-workers. That alone should have gotten him fired. This n1gga embarrassed the shows creater on national TV and said I didnt call him no f@ggot- with sarcasim and a smirk on his face. This creates problems on the set. He may as well kiss his hollywood career good bye and focus on local thearter.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: FK OUTTA HERE! This is straight up racist and you gay apologists can keep that shyt to yaself. Ann Coulter called John Kerry a FAGGOT some months back..what happened? Falwell said that gays and lesbians were responsible for 911 what happened? This is no comparison to what Imus said and if you think so..then why after IMUSGATE was no one fired or pubicly reprimanded for "repeating" the term NAPPY HEADED HO? Oprah said it. Every person dicussing the issue on TV said it. IW repeats a term and he a pompous, homophobic fool. FK OUTTA HERE!

Name: yunvme
Comment: herbs- no apologist here. But he has been repremended a couple of times for different things. I believe that is why he was fired. Not because of the "gay" incident.

Name: BlkATLTop
Comment: Yeah Boot- getting choked by a co-worker would seem to fit into the "hostile work environment" category, not if "you don't like all that mayonaise in potato salad or you don't like to just eat cheese with grapes or you don't like your steak bleeding you want that sh1t cooked"

Name: yunvme
Comment: Boot- heres what you do. Go to work and jump on one of your co-workers and start choking them. Wait a couple of days and chill. Assuming its maybe a first offense for you- so you wont be fired on the spot, maybe you will get a written up or a verbal warning. After a few days start calling one of your coworkers a b1tch/ or a f@aggot (its up to you) then log on to EUR and tell us if you still have a job.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: lol@BOOT! IW ain't bit mo been fired for choking his co-worker(which should be the case) than Paris being "reassigned" to home cuz of her medical condition. Fk outta here!

Name: ReginaBio1
Comment: I just don't understand why everyone has to bite their damn tongue all the time. Isaiah WAS known for being a jackazz, everyone knew that before the show even started. Even his character on the show was a jackazz at times! Gay folks definitely have an agenda in Hollyweird, and even though their behavior is what some might consider offensive, what goes on in their own bedrooms is their own business, none of us have heaven or hell to put them in, on the other hand, I don't think this can be compared to the firing of Imus for his dumbazz racial comments. GAY and BLACK are NOT synonymous! I wish people could get that throught their fat heads. However, if you will take notice, any opinion you have that differs from that of any homosexual, they consider homophobic. Rosie O'Donnell has issues anytime someone doesn't agree with her, and it could be about ANYTHING, but she insists it's because the other person is homophobic. It would seem that by now, black folks would have more power in HW by now, I guess we've been surpassed by a bunch of faggots! Yeah, I said it!!

Comment: @Brandon: Please, Please stop saying that Imus was fired b/c of insensitive comments. NBC fired Don Imus because major advertisers were pulling sponsorship dollars from the show. NBC originally punished Imus by giving him a two-week suspension. Imus had a history of saying insensitive things, but was never punished until money came into the picture. Even CBS took a minute to come to a decision. NBC nor CBS wanted to fired Imus, but they were under MONEY pressure and had to let him go. If Jackson and Sharpton hadn't brought the issue to the attention of the corporate sponsors...Don Imus would still be on the air!!! That said, I'm sure some advertisers were threatening to pull money from Grey's next season if Isaiah didn't go. They could have fired him in the beginning, but they didn't. I guess now Isaiah will learn to keep his mouth shut and deal with whatever "issues" he has.

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: Ike was sandbagged....McDreamy shoulda kept his mouth shut...I thought they were a family on the set....families have arguements all the time but it stays in-house...What's he gonna have to do?...Have gay sex?...So he choked the dude...Thespians are a tempermental breed...Maybe he was method acting...Who knows...Maybe he just didn't like TR....TR coulda purposely rubbed him in a sexual way..."Excuse me Isaiah, I just wanna reach behind you and grab that er, script, sorry man, I didn't mean to let me get my hand off your..." Who knows what really went down up in there?...

Comment: Well, this should not surprise any of us. Especially the way he was kissing azz to the gay community. Not too mention everyone says he thinks he can walk on water without boats on his feet. What bothers me the worse is, other white celebrities have done a helluva lot worse. I'm not a fan of the show but from the reviews I've seen, this might be a bad move on their part because a lot of people liked his character.

Comment: Isiah got what he deserved. The industry runs just like corporate America because all the studios are corporate companies, BOOT. Your ignorant. Moving on... You can't just say what you wanna unless your willing suffer the consequences. In this case Isiah wasn't the head person in charge so he had no clout. I'm sure he will find some work else where on the floor. If you think this was gay mafia oh well, you could say that but when you're apart of group that gets discriminated for ignorant reasons then you would stick together and fight the power too. So, don't play like you can't comprehend, make a mends to end this type of treatment. Give us all respect as long as no one is harming another human being.

Name: McNasty
Comment: BlkATL go play with someone else - rather than admit the truth you choose to play games. If in the heat of the argument I called someone here a fag (and there are plenty) I might be reprimanded but certainly I would not be fired.

Comment: one last thing then I'm out. It says that he was not invited back which sounds to me like he wasn't fired, but that his contract just wasn't renewed. There is a BIG difference. Also, no where does it say that he was "fired" for one (the gay thing) incident- so why do we keep harping on that one thing? Honestly I could care less about name calling, its the violence that is really whats cause for concern. Also, why is no one mad at Shondra? Its her show? Is it easier to blame white folks, or even easier to blame fags, then to blame the black woman for not standing by him?

Name: dede0320
Comment: <<<Boot they are not listening to you...!!!and I agree with you..some of them do not understand!!!!There is a double standard.!!! but at the same time, black people should be aware of that, and not let ourselves get caught up in that type of situation, Isaih should have known that as militant as he is, but we cannot do what they do, but when I heard him say that on TV live, I could not believe it myself, I was just shocked, he comes off as a really intelligent brother, but after seeing that I was just too shocked, but if I was him I would have laid low, no PSA's , nothing, my apology would have been enough, now he looks like a fool both ways, he has a right to his opinion, and believe me, Patrick Dempsey has a reputation as being an Azz**** also, but the black person will always pay more severely than the white ...and I believe that white boy, George is gone too, he has not heard about his status either....yet...I wish Mr. Washington all the luck, and I hope he gets another break, I'm not going to dog him out...and please stop equating the gay struggle to the black civil rights struggle, i do not recall of any gays being waterhosed down, or their homes bombed because they are gay, or dogs running after them because they are Gay...for those that equate the civil rights struggle with the gay struggle, if the KKK stopeed you with your gay white friends, who do you think they would lynch? The white gay person would deny he was gay, probably, (there goes his struggle out the window), or the KKK would not believe him and would probably take him to rehab or let him go, but your black %*$, becuase of the color of your skin would be shown no mercy...people please wake up, we are losing ground....You life means nothing to them...

Name: LazySusan
Comment: This is terrible considering all of the groveling Isaiah did. But this should be a lesson learned. Either keep your mouth shut or be prepared to go down like a soldier. He shouldn't have even bothered to apologize. What I find fascinating is this theory that runs among people, that gay people can't be racist or something. I know two gay men in positions of power that could put Don Imus to shame. And guess what??? They're both White men. And GLAAD isn't that well known for standing up for Black gay people in the first place. White male gays in positions of power can be just as dangerous as the straight ones. And as long as Mr. Washington has that pretty, BLACK wife, he's going to get my support 100%! Good luck to him and maybe he'll learn to keep his mouth shut....and his hands off of people's throats!

This is especially so when I never heard the mafia boycott themed shows such as "QUEER eye to the straight guy" and "QUEER azz folk." Maybe those aren't slurs. Imagine a show titled N1ggerville 90210. I bet you'll hear some mad protesting going on then. Either way, IW was wronged here..very wronged and I hope the brotha is able to bounce back from this. Comment: It's not like he's the only cat that feels that way or called somebody that. It's a dayum awful lifestyle and for hollywood and society to embrace it like it's no big deal is interesting to say the least. He wasted his time doing the therapy and the public service announcement.

Comment: Isaiah has nobody to blame but himself. He didn’t just call the man a “faggot”, he created a terrible working environment for the rest of the cast and crew afterwards and became a PR nightmare for the show. Even Katherine Heigel had to come out and say he really needs to shut the f*ck up about it if he really wants it to go away. Those commercials he filmed were laughable and did nothing to help the show. Now I'm a fan of the show and am p!ssed cause I wanted to see what would happen with him and Christina but he has no one to blame but himself. Moving on if they do keep the character I like the idea of Blair Underwood taking his spot. Time for some sexy McChocolate!

Comment: HERB...You just still did not get it. It's no different from black men calling each other ni@@a. Some do it, some don't. You are so falling for the stereotype. The friends I know don't like to be refer to as faggot, queer, etc. Gay is bad enough, LOL. Usually a gay person who refers to another as faggot or queer because they act like a woman. But anyway, I'm not a fan of Queer eyez for the str8 guys cause of the word queer and the feminine acting guys on the show. It's a turn off. The Showtime series "Queer for folks" was great written series but did not like the title. The series was real. I don't like Logo's series Noah's Arc cause they act so feminine. My friends are masculine, muscular and undectable. That's how some of us gays like to be 'cause your sex life is your business not everyones. So Herb understand just because you see it on tv doesn't mean it is the majority. I'm tired of seeing black guys portrayed as thugs. But it won't stop until people like the GAME, 50 cent, Tupac, Biggie Small, etc. stop acting like a thug. Master P grew up in a poor neighborhood but he doesn't act like a thug/hoodboy anymore. Maturity / education is the key.

Comment: They knew they were not going to renew his contract from the get go so why did they have him kissing the gay community azz in hopes of keeping his job? He said what he needed to say twice not once but they still kept him around long enough to make a fool out of him. The man entered homophobic treatment and did a couple of PSAs. Heck, he did everthing short of a "We are the World" song for the gay community and still got the boot. He should have issued on open apology and called it a day. At least they let Imus go with dignity. But no Isaiah had to used to make an example.

Comment: yunvme>Yeah, IMO they let Imus go with dignity. Sure, he issued a few apologies and met with Al, Jesse and the Rutgers basketball team. But, not less than a week after it brought to our attention both companies fired him and let him go with a nice package deal. They didn't make him grovel or go against his principles like they did with Isaiah. I'm still on the fence with what IW did to get himself to this point. Personally, I think he should have handled himself better than that. But, don't give the man false hope. All of this time he could have benn let go and moved on with everyone forgetting about this situation. But no, they choose to stick it to him with no vasaline then fire him and I think that sucks.

Name: katgrrrl
Comment: Southernbelle: Ain't that some stuff!? I ain't sure, but I'll bet that when Isaiah was jumpin' through all those hoops, he had in the back of his mind that he'd still have a job/that they's renew his contract. They ROYALLY played him.

Comment: First, know that I've been watching Grey's since DAY ONE. I'm a big fan. Second, know that I LOVED Dr. Preston Xavier Burke. He was my Dr. McChocolate. Third, it's very unfortunate that he's not going to be on anymore. Fourth, I'll still keep watching GA and here's why: I am NOT goingh to PUNISH the entire show for ONE person's LACK of SELF-CONTROL!!!!!Grey's Anatomy was created by a sistah Shonda Rhimes, a competent writer who has developed a wonderful, intelligent show. Yes, compared to Seasons 1-2, Season 3 was the worst of them, but to me, even a BAD GA is better than most of what's on TV these days. >>>More to say. Check next post<<<

Name: Dovelyone
Comment: For the record, I think it is more accurate to say that Isaiah got into trouble policy-wise because his behavior fostered a HOSTILE environment, not (only) because he used some derogatory language against homosexuals. That would be a better way to put it for people to relate because despite what many gays think, EVERYBODY on the planet AIN'T GAY but NOBODY wants to work in a hostile environment. And for the record, the f-word and N-word are on two totally different levels. Doesn't mean the f-word is not offensive, but there's a HUGE difference between discrimination on what somebody CHOOSES to do in their bedroom versus SELECTING the level of melanin in their complexion. I thought Isaiah was a little punkish for going into rehab and the I'm sorry tour. It would have been more, how can I say, honest, for him to own what he said and apologize for the offense it may have caused and move on...but to drag it out with the rehab and stuff was just ridiculous. As much as they pimped him, he allowed himself to be pimped. I hope he lands on his feet in a good way.

Comment: We need our own shyt. Our own movie studios, our own tv stations and some responsible people to run them. I am so fcking tired of us having to beg, plead white folks to give us stuff when WE’RE the ones with the talent. Isiah was the BEST actor on that dam show there is no excuse. And don’t tell me he made a mistake. Britney Spears shaves her head, Paris is in and out of jail and Lindsey Lohan is crashing cars and druggin but ALL of them will be welcomed back with open arms once they’ve made their apologies. They have a different set of standards for themselves than they do us. What if Britney, Paris and Lindsey were black women acting the way they do. PLEASE. The press would chew them to bits the same way they did Isiah. Hell. Paris used the word faggot a number of times in a public setting – it was reported on MSNBC and NOONE made a peep about it. She used the n word as well.

Comment: Mas90>>> Yes, sin is sin all day long until the Lord Jesus Christ returns but offensive is in the eye of the beholder, like sexual harrassment. Some of our eyes may very well agree enough that we jointly demand justice. But in another instance, one person might not think the f-word is as offensive as the N-word, esp. based on one's past experiences. It kind of makes you wonder for the African-American gay/lesbian, which word is more offensive? Can they be equally offensive at the same time? Or the BEST question of them all: which OFFENDING word gets more JUSTICE? It's not the N-word.... Hmmmm....

Name: MsFresno
Comment: Mas90 miss me with all your rhetoric, bottom line after Isiah said it he should have known they were not going to keep him. And I will defend who ever i please.

I understand your saying "is in the eye of the beholder" but this is a right or wrong not a "somewhat". Because of that you have to watch what you say to people. Faggot does not get more justice. Comment: Mas..at this point I'm not speaking to stereotypes. IF someone created a show called N1ggerville 90120. It would pulled the next day. Not because of the stereotype that black call each other n1ggas all the time. That reasoning would not fly. But, that a "majority" of blacks would object to it. So, the fact the homo power mafia (the same ones responsible for his ousting) didn't object to such themed shows means that there is some mass hypocrisy in this IW situation. After therapy, PS announcements, meetings etc..the mafia didn't feel the need to support his efforts and he was subsequently fired. All because he repeated a word. Sorry but that's some hyprocritical shyt right dere.

I do not advocate the use of EITHER word in my own vocabulary, my household, or in my life. Period. But if we were to count (proportionately) the number of court cases where people were convicted for harming homosexuals versus the number of court cases harming African Americans re. racial intimidation/discrimination, I think we might be a little surprised shocked at the imbalance. And you know why I think the imbalance might be that more cases harming homosexuals get more convictions is because some Black folk think using the N-word is ok, where probably VERY FEW homosexuals feel the f-word is acceptable. At least they would not admit that publicly.

Comment: >Mas90, gays have never been taken from their homeland, enslaved, raped and robbed of their language, religion, culture and heritage. Our people have been through hell and high water with discrimination and those stupid Jim Crow laws and gays have never experienced any of that. I'm an educated man but I'am going to make this real simple so pay close attention. Homosexuality is a choice, a choice plain and simple. All of this talk that people are born that way is a bunch of bullshyt. fail to see how a guy can be born wanting to get with another guy and I don't give a f'uck what the academics and doctors say. It just doesn't add up in the forum of common sense which is outside of the classroom and in the real world. Another thing is that the only way I would know a person is a homosexual is if they told me. I wouldn't have to tell anyone that I'am a black man because unless they're stupid as hell, they can pretty much look at me and tell. I was raised to call 'em as I see 'em and no one get's the kid glove treatment from me because I'm too old to be politically correct. The only reason some women love hanging out and being friends with gay men is that at the end of the day it's one less guy that they don't have to worry about wanting to f'uck them. Isiah calling homeboy a faggot wasn't a smart move but the way homeboy reacted was like the first time he's ever been called that which is what I was tripping off of and the ironic thing is that Isiah played a gay man in the Spike Lee joint "Get on the Bus" back in the mid 1990's. I don't have any hatred for anyone and I'm not a highly religious person. I just think that people should try to get along with each other because the less drama in your life makes it less complicated. In fact I'll go as far as to say that I have a few books in our office at home by James Baldwin and Richard Wright, men who happened to be gay men but wrote very great literature about the black experience which is still relevant today. TR Knight better "man up" because he's going to have a nervous breakdown everytime somebody calls him out of his name.

But yet one of the gay dudes that said it, said when he goes in for a job interview he looses the flaming gay ways. I said this before, Isaiah Washington should have never apologized anyway. He did not say that on air. No one would have known. I feel bad for him. I dont like the show anyway.

I'm not even saying one is greater than the other. I said, THEY BOTH ARE DISCRIMINATIONS. POINT BLANK. you are missing what I'm saying. All of you keep trying to place me in the same as bucket as every gay person you've seen, spoken to and see on tv. you are so missing what I've said. Read!

Name: Dovelyone
Comment: >>>Mas90.... wow.... like it was said... how would ANYBODY on a message board know your sexual orientation/preference without YOU DISCLOSING IT? People of color do not have that CHOICE. So your claim about lumping you in with "those gay people" is unfounded. And I concurred that BOTH terms are offensive. What I asked is that which offensive carries more PUNISHMENT in the eyes of SOCIETY and the LAW? I'm strongly CLAIMING that, despite the work of the civil rights movement, in which homosexuals climbed on the PROVERBIAL BACKS of BLACK FOLK to BENEFIT from, there's more restitution from homosexual claims than from racial claims.

I can still pull some sistahs right now if I wanted to but I love my wife deeply and I would never disrespect her. I'm just stating my opinion on the matter and I know a lot of ppl that feel the exact same way but you can't say jack about anything or anyone cause else somebody will get bent out of shape or sensitive which is one of the reasons why the presidential debates are a complete joke because none of them will say what they really feel about a particular subject matter.

Comment: YOu have feel you have to give it a degree if it is a 9, 10 or a 2. All I'm saying that it is wrong for Isaiah to put TK on front street about his own business. Using faggot was unnecessary. Isaiah even used it a second time receiving an award for the tv show. Just complete disregard. Isaiah has been in the business long enough to know how it operates. Plenty of actors, actresses get blacklisted he just might become one.

Name: Dovelyone
Comment: Where did I talking about giving term a rating above or below a number. What I asked you to do is to think about which offense gets more justice? And it is not racial/ethnic discriminatory cases. It's more likely homosexual cases because of the lower tolerance of offense that this society has for gays than Blacks/people of color. Train is saying it 100 times better than I am so please re-read his posts for further clarification on the legal side of this discussion.

He had a blow up with the Producers of SOul Food when he was on there and he threatened a Black woman producer, you ain't hear about that because that was not mainstream and we keep our %*$! no matter how disfunctional in the family. Shonda helped him keep his job the first time around, but what the hell is she supposed to do. He put her in a no win postion when he opened his mouth the second time around on national television at that. He has a history of drama and it cost him his job. Him being mad as hell is what got him in this postion in the first place. He will have to do small theater then his chance will come around again, because he is that talented. Hopefully when it comes back around he will have learned his lesson.

Comment: Now don't get sensitive on us like Knight did with Isiah. That brotha shouldn't have to apologize for anything after all of that shyt that he did to try to make amends...especially when he didn't have to. It seem like they were going to let him go anyway but they left him hanging for several months. He's a talented cat so with the exposure of the show he' be able to move on and get back to doing movies. It seems to me that in hollywood you can't say make an opinion about anyone because folks will get bent out of shape. No one should be embarassed to be gay but to compare it to the civil rights movement, that's not only bullyshyt and intellectually dishonest.

Name: Mas90

Comment: I saw it on CNN a few years ago when this white dude compared the gay plight to the movement. Just last year when all of those illegals were marching in LA state senator, Gil Cideo stated the exact same thing on the Larry Elder radio show. That's what get's most ppl riled up when the comparisons are made and nothing could be further from the truth.

Name: Dovelyone
Comment: Mas90: According to the story, Isaiah didn't put TK on blast. Isaiah was talking to Patrick when he said it. TK didn't have to even acknowledge the situation occurred because he wasn't there. Like the phrase says, it's not what you're called but what you answer to (good, bad or otherwise). Did Don Imus put ME on blast when he called the Rutgers B-Ball team "nappy headed hoes"? (P.S.: I grew out my relaxer last year) Nope. So I don't answer to that and at the same time, since I don't like what he said, he must be held accountable for his words, which he was, same as Isaiah, esp. because of the Hollywood climate (and the U.S. LEGAL SYSTEM) which is MUCH MORE SENSITIVE TO GAYS than to people of color.... Again, what TRAIN said about comparing it to the civil rights movement, that's not only BS, but dishonest and UNETHICAL on so many levels.

Comment: All I can say is that because of this, we won't be seeing the incomperable Diahann Caroll on Grey's anymore -- unless Shondra keeps the storylines interesting. I agree with most the Isaiah brough this on himself and it has nothing to dow ith race, it had to do with ignorance and not knowing when to shut up. To make a comment like that at the Foreign Press Awards was stupid. And as much as I liked him as Dr. Burke, I an't mad at Shondra. She just got a second show greenlit, and is not about to lose what looks like a promising career over no man who can't shut up!!!

Comment: Actually T.R. Knight never said anything about the situation. He didn't run to the media to tell them that Isaiah called him a "faggot". Katherine Heigl is the one who told the press... she's the one who brought the whole thing out in the open, because she said T.R. Knight is one of her best friends. Then Isaiah made the problem worse a few months later at the Golden Globe Awards. T.R. Knight never acknowledged he was gay until after Isaiah's statement became public, probably because if he had denied it, some guy would've come forward with evidence.

I remember at that award show when the mike was in front of her - I believe SHE was speaking or about to - and he just stuck his big head in front of her and said that he did not call the guy a f*gg*t. Now to me, that was just rude and disrespectful. No "excuse me" or anything. On the other hand, maybe she did try to keep him there. Really, I don't think any of us knows the story, so... But, I ain't mad at her.

Who can co-sign and support that? How can you get advertisers to support that? Impossible.

Comment: DOVE... u don't have to be there for someone to put you on blast. Dove how do you know TK didn't have to acknowledge it? TK did what the industry usually forces you to do. Acknowledge that you are so that there isn't a back and forth issue of are you gay or not. Or the industry saids will get you a girlfriend if you want to cover it which a few actors do. Anyway so you're not correct Dove. TRAIN... As I stated before you are taking what one person said (from CNN)and think all gays think the same. ANGEL... I'm still laughing at Train's response to if he was gay or not. It was drawn out. No would've been suffice. But we got... "HELL NO, I'm not gay. I played baseball, basketball, became the president of the players club (as if gays can't be playas), coached a wrestling team, spoke at str8 men's conference, put together super bowls parties, watch football regular season and arena football, can fart continously without breathing, forget my marriage anniverisary and leave the toilet seat down all year! LOL Thank you str8 Train.

Comment: MAS90>>> Please, please get your facts together (notice I didn't say "straight" to avoid offending you). TK must have some personal security issues about his homosexuality if he needed to disclose to preserve his reputation. So again, there is still no direct link between what Isaiah said and TK's subsequent disclosure. He could have gone on with his life. But he's positioned himself as the victim, which is strange seeing as Hollywood supports gays overwhelmingly more than people of color. Let's be very clear on this: gays need to stop crying out discrimination BY COMPARING THEIR PLIGHT TO THAT OF BLACK FOLK, esp. when what's done in the bedroom is a CHOICE (hetero or homo).

So this fool felt "threatened" by TR KNIGHT???? So much that he torpedoed his career with a careless comment. Hollywood is a gay sensitive place and a lot of the players are gay. Let's not forget that Hollywood has a double standard when it comes to people of color. What was this stupid negro thinking??? He was untouchable??? Mel Gibson who made anti-Jewish remarks is gonna work again and is paid on top of that. Mel gets a pass. A part of taking a stand about something is knowing when to pick/choose your battles and this was one Isiah just wasn't gonna win. Sounds like Isiah give TR his power-to the point of sacrificing his Hollywood career(and also doing indie films ain't gonna pay the bills). Whenever you give somebody your power, you are weak-therefore a b****-how ironic? Take your %*$ to Sierra Leone Isiah and watch your spending-cash won't be coming in like it used to. As another poster previously mentioned, there's definitely a double standard goin' on in H'wood. Oh and how can I forget KATE MOSS! There were photos of her on the cover of the newspapers doin' lines of coke. She lost a couple of contracts. But a few months later, came back with multiple contracts. I see her a lot more than before AFTER her drugs scandal. Well, all I can say is I hope Isaiah can still make a living as an actor after this mess. i was never a fan of his, but since they let all those white folks get away with it, I hope he gets another chance.

Comment: DOVE... I don't give a damn. I told peeps on hear I was gay long time ago. You're so tired. Also as far TK insecurities you don't know what you're talking about. You don't know the business.

Comment: Katgrrl.... You think he means no harm? Hmmm... I can make a serious point wiht laughter too.

Comment: Mas90>>>no need for the profanity...so you can't hang because you're so immersed in the cultural and policical indoctrination of your sexual orientation/preference. It is what it is.... Thank the Lord Jesus Christ I don't know that business but you know what? Based on your response, I think I discerned TK's target. And here's another thing you might not want to deal with: very similar to the (White) feminist movement that rejected many of the issues brought up by Black women and so many Black women did not participate in that movement and began their own (womanist, Black feminist thought--Patricia Hill Collins). So I'm thinking that White gays ain't feeling the intersection of race, gender, and class that Black gays bring to the party.... That is if you're BLACK, male, and gay...or black, MALE, and gay...or black, male, GAY.... Now watch and learn: I responded to you WITHOUT HAVING TO USE PROFANITY!!!!! Peace....

Comment: Hi Mas: Yes, I honestly think BOOTS means no harm. I'm aware that some serious stuff can be mixed in WITH humor, but personally, BOOTS has never said anything that's ever offended me. Maybe something's been said that has offended you. On that note, I'm just gonna politely back my way outta y'alls business, lol. Peace!

Comment: I thought u were leaving? You're the one crying over the word, damn. Internal??? girl its you not me. Comment: Brandon..the situations are somewhat similar but should be handled totally differently. If Imus had said (off-air) to McGuirk(sp) "them nappy-headed ho's" and subsequently repeated on-air "I didn't call them nappy-headed ho's," I don't think he should've been fired. That's not what he did. But, that is what (in essence) what IW did. He made the "offensive" remark off-air statement and repeated the word on-air. One was w/malice..the other was not. MAS..I can azzure you if D Chappelle's was titled "Chappelle's N1gger Hour" it would NEVER air because of the backlash from blacks who would find it offensive even though blacks the ones who use the term the most. Blacks have issues w/the lyrics in songs and have voiced their protest. This latest round w/Imus proved that. That is not something that happened w/homos and the "queer" shows. There was no outrage. There were no protests. No one had to go to counseling. You don't see people (as w/Master P) "maturing" to the point that they find utterance (in any context) of the word unacceptable. So apparently the term "queer" must not be that offensive to gays. Got me?

Name: Mas90
Comment: Katgrrl... me and BOOT just disagree on things. No biggie. That's life. Can't please everyone or agree.

Name: Dovelyone
Comment: Mas90: LOL! If anything, you're entertaining! (Wink!) I am not crying over the word. I pity your repeated use of it.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: *trying to respond to all these damn posts* Mas..IW didn't put his business on front street. The gump who decided to expose the "confrontation" 'tween he and the other dude is the one who put it out there. From what I'm gathering, it was no secret on the set that this dude was a homo. So again, blame the one who spilled it to the media...NOT IW.

Name: Mas90
Comment: Herbs... As far as "queer" I stated "I" did not like the word. I didn't say "the show and it's workers". Re: Chappelle you make a correct point but I also made a correct point. A show titled with that would not fly but Dave Chappelle himself changed cause he realize it wasn't right too.

Name: Mas90
Comment: DOVE.... I never asked for your pity. If I was so entertaining you would not have stated you were offended by profanity which I don't agree damn is offensive. So shut up, you crazy religious hypocrit. You just trying to back pedal now after you were SO offended by damn.

Comment: TR Knight is still a little punk bytch but he's a employed punk bytch!

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Mas..YOU didn't like it. However, the same mafia who's after IW's head (pun intended) didn't have a problem w/it. So again, the hypocrisy exists. Do you know any of your masculine, muscular, undectable (as if that makes you less of a homo) friends who protested those shows? On the flip, I know hoards who protest the use of the term n1gger. I'm sorry, what's the comparison again? Dave changed it because he elevated himself to the level that using that word was beneath him. That was his personal decision..not that of his network.

Name: Dovelyone
Comment: Mas90: Nope! No backpedaling! Completely stand by what I said. And sometimes people don't realize they need pity. And my mention of your use of profanity didn't come from a place of offense. It came from a place of expecting a person to participate in a discussion without having to resort to profanity because it reduces their credibility. And let's explore what you said: You said you "don't give a DAMN" (direct quote). Sounds like you do care. So your contradiction is not helping you, either.... And how about this? This thread has probably close to 200 posts from A LOT of people but yet you keep coming back at me.... I mean, I know I'm UNFORGETTABLE but come on! Hahahahahaahahah!!!!

Comment: Herbs... Gay mafia... is it the same. I doubt it. Not everyone who is gay think the same. Just like hetero. As I sated before Queer as Folks was "real". It had great writing. I could relate but I just didn't care for the title. Did you get that this 2nd time??? NEXT... as far my friends protesting those shows, my friends agree that Noah's Arc is way too feminine, Queer As Folks is a good show and Queer Eyez is for woman which is not appealing to masculine gay guys. Re: Dave Chapelle, did you protest of ni@@a used on Dave Chappelle? DOVE... My responding to you is no different me responding to Herbs, Train, or you. That's what you do on blog. It's called a conversation in person. You're excused to get on short yellow bus to go home. LOL KATGRRL.... Yes we do have our disagreements here in the dysfunctional world. Some just can't let it go and fly away like a bird.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Mas..I don't think everyone thinks the same but I do know that different people are offended by different things. Gays just didn't find the word title offensive enough to protest. Apparently, they did w/Isaiah. If I think it's hypocritical..that's just what I think. If you don't..then you don't.

Comment: Quickly on Mel Gibson's jew comments. Firstly, Mel is damn near a billionaire and doesn't have to ask anyone for a paycheck. He writes paychecks for others. So when you are the man, you can do the usual reparation apology crap (even though everyone knows it's not sincere) and call it a day. Isiah had no clout, no money, and depended on someone else to write him a check to live off of. You just can go around choking people and making everyone feel uncomfortable on set and expect people to be in your corner. Heigl outed the faggot incident because she was tired of Isiah's azz. And, it worked. Why? Because he couldn't leave things alone. Patrick Dempsey is also an a-hole which is why he also was barely working until Grey's. But, he recognized that he better keep himself in check which is why we don't hear about him acting like the Diva that he usually is. Same personality those two but different approaches. You just can't compare everyone as if they are the same. With Hollywood, you have to factor in money, influence, familial connections, etc. Just like in LA, anyone of any level of fame gets better breaks with the law than any of us will committing the same offense. That is how the cookie crumbles. And, how are black folk going to be mad at GLAAD for not championing black gay causes when they aren't even part of the organization? You have to actually join and participate in something to expect it to participate and work on your behalf. I'm not part of the Arbor Society and I certainly don't expect them to picket for me if the city and I have issues over what trees I want to plant. Now, how are we going to make judgments on what is offensive to others? There are plenty of black folk who use the "n" word and think nothing of it. Then there are those, myself included, who don't differentiate between blacks or whites using the word. That is a very personal call. It reminds me of that show, Black/White, where the white mom called the black folk at the poetry set "beautiful creatures or beasts" (which Barbara Walters did the same thing to Monique about her kids) and people scattered like the klan was coming. Neither one of those are offensive to me because I understood what she was saying, however oddly she phrased it. My cousin was highly offended and %*$!ed about the situation when she said it on tv. I guess I just can't get over all this whining about inequality. A black and white man each respectively go out and shoot someone. White gets 15 years and Black gets 25 to life for same identical crime. Most of y'all would whine and cry about the difference in sentences. Everyone knows that this society is not equal. It shouldn't be a newsflash for anyone. So instead of whining about how White got a lighter sentence, answer, why Black was out there shooting someone in the first place? If Black hadn't done the crime, there wouldn't be any discrepancy to talk about!

Comment: WHITE GAY AMERICA is very powerful and to speak out negatively against them can cause problems. For the black gays making comments like BlkATLTOP, I am assuming, you are a gay man. What heterosexual would call themselve a top? I am so tired of homosexuals comparing their sexually with skin color. The white gay community is very racist if not more than mainstream America against black gay and lesbians. On the issue of Issaih Washington, who cares? There are other serious problems going on in this country. Most of Hollywood is gay or bi-sexual. Living in today's world, it's best to get your mouth closed. We are truly living in the last days.

Name: bullcity73
Comment: White people whether they are Democrat, Republican, straight, gay, liberal or conservative were raise from the racist stock in America. By saying this, whites feel they are superior to blacks, and liberalism will be the destruction of this country. The worst friend a black can have is a white liberal. These so called liberal whites will call you a %*$!(@ if you make them mad. I spelled the word out, because it's just like any other word.

Name: bullcity73
Comment: This is sad, when the so called N word can not be said or written on blogs without being deleted. Are we really living in a Democratic society? There's no freedom of speech in the United States.
