Comment: Wasn't funny the first time around and still I didn't find it to funny, anybody else? I give him credit for trying but its just not funny.

Name: Selah
Comment: It had a few funny moments, just too few.

Name: nightshift
Comment: Kill it before it spreads!! This has got to stop. He's needs to find a new cast possibly some veterans that "we" actually know. I nominate Gary Coleman, and work you way up from there. I hope this gets better, I'm beginning to doubt if he is all that talented, or was he just in the right place at the right time 'cause we were in need of something fresh?

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: ...Just believe folks... You're young and you're in a hurry You're eager for laughs but don't you worry We all want to LMBAO But these things don't come overnight Don't give up 'cause the show seems slow. He11, if it fails at least Tyler got the dough Give it just a little more time And the laughs love will surely grow...brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Baby please baby Baby please baby

Name: ChocolateBrownGal
Comment: Nightshift-->>you can ONLY work your way up from Gary Coleman! Literally! LOL Seriously though...I have a hard time with chitlin' circuit shows/plays. I don't find any of this stuff amusing.

Name: ebonetyee
Comment: He needs better writers or he needs to write these scripts himself. If you notice the credit's he's directing, but not writing these shows.

Name: McNasty
Comment: I think just like he hand picked the actors he needs to hand pick the writers - too many out there for this show to languish and then die.

Name: nightshift
Comment: He needs to have a conference call with Bill Cosby......NOW!!

Name: DUCHESS40
Comment: I did not laugh at all.... that show is horrible. If Perry does not correct this soon it will definitely tarnish is reputation.

Name: BlkATLTop
Comment: people probably turned out in droves thinking it was going to be funny. unfortunately, i have to agree with the critics- it was not good. without the madea character, it's awful. i can't put my finger on it, but something is off key. maybe it's the actors lack of comedic timing when delivering their lines

Name: nycGYRL888
Comment: That show is horrible!! I am not impressed at all. I love TP I just want more...more...more substance than what he is delivering. I Tivo'd the shows and fell asleep on both. From what they introduced in the pilots, things have changed and I simply don't like either version. I guess I am expecting something funny along the lines of Cosby or something fresh. This show so far is a big disappointment!!

Name: Keverix
Comment: Even still, Perry CONTINUES to crack the racist Hollywood safe that is determined to see him fail. Those racist white studio heads can't STAND him because he is the FIRST black to PROVE that they have been lying to the American public all along: "All successful Black feature films MUST have both a black and a white lead characters." I have a lot more respect for him than I do an actor with multi millions like Eddie Murphy. I was disgusted when I saw the extras in Norbit and discovered there was a white director AND a white producer both who claim working with Eddie was very easy... OF COURSE IT WAS, they didn't do sheyat. Eddie should have DEMANDED a Black producer and director for that film but he is a wimp just like Will Smith, Denzel, Oprah and the rest of the "top" blacks in Hollywood who continue to suck white booty. I don't care if the show isn't funny. I'm going to watch it just because Perry does it. This man went from homeless to Hollywood historian and I have more respect for what he's done than ANY black person in show business right now.

Name: anreb41
Comment: It is not funny at all!! I really don't know what is wrong because Tyler is vey funny. Please get new writers. I am only looking at the show because there ae very few shows on TV with blacks. I will continue to watch it in hopes that it will improve.

Name: PRDC
Comment: Funny or not...the brotha got a rating like no other and that's good enough for me. So more power to him. Don't have the time to put in a negative comment. Just be proud of the brotha....

Name: NueNue
Comment: ok last time i gave all of yall a hard time and i want to apologize cause THAT SHOW WAS HORRIBLE! my god i mean really. i can count the times i laughed in a whole hour on one hand. here is my theory about the show. the show is more play format then show format. they need new actors and actresses and better writers for this show to work. because the whole time i was like this is just the pilot and the second will be better but alas.. no such luck. Now i have much faith in mr. tyler perry BUT you cant write a show like a play. i dont know if anyone else noticed it but the acotrs kept laughing and the story line was jumbled and they kept throwing in stall jokes. oh lord i feel bad for saying all this but the show was terrible.

Name: star
Comment: Tyler is into helping people therefore he hand picked the cast. I don't like any of them especially the kids(I'm wrong, lol). He needs real writers and real actors. I don't like the look of the show, the digital camera look, washed out colors, like the soap All My Children. Maybe people should send in their resumes so that he can revamp this show.

Name: prettieyez
Comment: I watched both shows but I didn't find myself laughing much. He said, on the TJMS it was going to get better and not to give up on it yet. So, that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to wait and see.

Name: infofan1960
Comment: I tried to give it a shot, because I like to support OUR stuff. Honestly, it just wasn't funny. Perry tried too hard to fill the show with a lot of country southern sayings, that some people just didn't get. Not only that, it was depressing to see the characters play the stereotypical roles. You know, loud mouthed, angry, smart mouthed kid, etc. I'm afraid a lot of people believe that all of US are like that. I never had a MADEA in my family. Not hating, just making an observation. I hope he gets some better writers and I hope he stops trying to throw in all that unfunny country stuff. Why can't we have other shows where we are portrayed as very educated AND articulate? What's wrong with that? It's as if we don't see ourselves doing any better that this. I am happy for him though. I just want him to do better.

Name: CrazzeeGyrl
Comment: It wasn't that funny but I will still support him no matter what. Keep on doing what you're doing Tyler!

Name: gingerg
Comment: I liked the scenes involving Brown. He just tickles me. I have plenty of country relatives who are just like him. I got the part when he talked about making a pallet and spending the night because some country folks will do just that; come to your house and act like they live there. I developed more respect for Allen Payne's acting skills after watching Michael Baisden's Men Cry In The Dark on dvd over the weekend. Frankly, I don't usually do stage plays, but this one had a little depth and balance. Tyler just needs to switch up his formula. The stage plays/themes drew people in, but they are looking for more in a sitcom. My hope is that this project will be successful and that he will one day be able to produce a serious drama like Soul Food. I will keep watching House of Payne.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: I'm with CHOCOLATEBROWN'S comments. i'm tired of the "Chitlin Circuit" shows/plays too. i saw this show and what i saw i did not like it (Sorry Cassi sweetie, i like you better singing than acting) and sad to say that is what this program is, a chitlin show. there is no depth, no substance, the jokes are tired and lame and if it don't catch me on the first epidsode, i'm done with it. no wonder i don't watch too many sitcoms.

Name: BigSexy
Comment: I didn't laugh too much either. But the next show seems to be interesting. I will support Tyler though. He has blown yt Hollywood's racist minds so I will continue to support him. Even if I choose to watch another show, my bedroom TV will have his show on...

Name: lilwyde
Comment: I feel asleep too nycGYRL888. I rewound it twice and kept falling asleep. I'm not sure if they are trying TOO hard or what but it just doesn't flow.

Name: gingerg
Comment: One more thing, Tyler needs to trust and delegate more work. It must be incredibly hard to be finishing one movie "Why Did I Get Married?", working on House of Payne and then preparing to direct/star in Meet The Browns.

Name: oldschoolbrother
Comment: I will give it time, thank goodness for Tivo, you can fast foward through much of it. Just get better writers, hopefully one day, soon, we will see a black drama with black writers and producers as well.

Name: Fran
Comment: I liked that episode better than the pilots. Brown was funny and Madea. But I think they will need to make regular appearances to keep the show afloat. But it is not much competition for black entertainment out there. I will tune in. But I dont know when another "Cosby and Different World" will ever reappear and last on the networks. I find myself watching the episodes and missing educated and wealthy blacks. It is like I cant watch black pictures without thinking of being broke and uneducated. It is funny but a depressing type of funny.

Name: jfergy5
Comment: As much as I love TP, the show was horrible. For those of us that watched the initial episodes a while back, it was even more confusing to realize he was "starting over" and re-vamped the characters (Payne now being the nephew, not the son, as well as introducing a new son). The jokes are not funny, the characters don't seem to mesh well, and it just doesn't seem believable. Had Brown did all that mess at a REAL person's house, it would have been on!!!!

Name: golfebj
Comment: I like the changes that he made from the original pilot. Instead of it being his father, being his uncle. I'm glad the wife is no longer on drugs because that was too extreme too quick for TV.

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: ....WTF, WTF?...This man is a chitlin circuit genius, thats what he is and, and some of you people have the audacity to suggest that he hire other people to write his sh1t...I can't believe some of the posts up in here...Would you have him hire some kid outta the Ivy Leauge to write scripts?...Would you have him hire more classically trained thespians?...Would you have him trash the entire cast and hire a more "attractive looking" cast(?)...What do you people want?...What is a real actor or writer?...Perry is doing the best he can, bless his heart...Some of ya'll sound like ya want him to do Seinfield in Black face...Yes, that's what ya sound like....Ya wanna cut him off before ya give the Blackman a chance...but if it was Clooney or Larry David you'd give them time to get in the groove...Yes, you'd support them but ya wanna, ya wanna dump the Blackman...Please, allow him to find his audience....Allow him to find his groove...Give him the time and respect that you would give The cast of Friends...So what if he's country some of ya'll watch my Name is Earl...Ya can't get no more country than that...There's a whole lotta country on that show...Now, I haven't watched the show as of yet...but I intend to...Man, I'll just tune all the TV's in my home to TBS just to give the impression that I'm watching this well-acted, well-written comedy...It is on TBS right?....

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: ...I hope it's not on FOX

Name: gingerg
Comment: Golf, the wife is still on drugs. They are just going to reveal that more slowly. I think he's trying to show that a person can be a functioning addict. All crack heads aren't out on the street. There are plenty of professional looking folks who are strung out on cocaine, meth and other stuff, but are able to keep it moving for the most part. Remember the part where the wife claimed that she wasn't given the money to get the birthday cake? Mama found it odd that she could have asked her to pick up the cake, but forgot to give her the money, but she blew it off. She would have to come up with my $50 or I would beat her azz.

Name: detroitgee
Comment: I was embarrased to see this stuff on TV. This kind of slap stick works on a stage but not on TV. Do you think Hollywood of TV folks are setting him up to fail? Give him enough water to sink his ship?

Name: gingerg
Comment: Boot, I'm glad you brought up Friends. That mess was nowhere near funny and look at all the money they paid that sorry cast and how everyone boo hooed when it was finally canceled.

Name: TGen
Comment: Wow, it's rare that you get this many people with a concensus. NO ONE liked the show. I only saw like five minutes and that was enough to know that it was very, very weak. Unlike some others though, I didn't expect much else. I'm just trying to figure out how his agent negotiated a guaranteed 100 episode deal. That's unheard of and I think most would agree unwarranted. I don't have any advice for the show expect to say that it's hard for sitcoms to make it period, it's hard to find a unique niche that also makes people laugh. With that in mind, maybe Perry would better off just scratchin the whole sitcom thing, starting from scratch and creating a drama instead. Just a thought...

Name: katgrrrl
Comment: Was it THAT bad!? I was sorry I missed it until I read what y'all had to say, lol. Unfortunately, it was on during the season premier of "Footballers' Wife$." That's my show and I ain't missin' that for nothin' and nobody! According to TV Guide, House of Payne'll be on Friday nites also. I'll just hafta catch it then.

Name: gingerg
Comment: Hollywood would like nothing better than to see Tyler fail. Look how they clowned when the numbers for Daddy's Little Girls weren't as high as Diary and Madea's Family Reunion. They have decided that they know what we like and are capable of understanding and anything that deviates from that theme is unacceptable. And they can't stand the fact that Tyler had the courage and money to get this thing rolling. After all, they are the only ones who are supposed to be smart and have any business savvy.

Name: crazilyz
Comment: Brown was just a mess but then again what else would you expect from him? I did find it rather disconcerting that Allen Payne's role was switched from nephew to son and from single dad to married dad. I guess a lot of things will be developing as they go along.

Name: archcookies
Comment: I just don't understand Black Americas appetite for this kind of comedy, it is basically the characters attacking each other with unfunny insults and barbs. We have another minstrel show in the making.

Name: Bad_Kitty
Comment: This show is terrible. Even the "laugh track" had a hard time laughing at it. And I do not like the little girl character. She IMO is too, "grown and fast!" Not precocious and cute as they are trying to make her out to be.

Name: DOne
Comment: I believe I read that Tyler was able to get the 100 shows deal because he basically paid for filming out of his own pocket therefore if TBS cancels it at anypoint, the network doesn't loose a lot a money other than the cost of promoting the show.

Name: Southernbelle
Comment: I would like to reiterate everyone else. The show was just horrible. I really had high hopes for TP.s new venture but I'll only give it a couple more episodes before I jump ship. I believe in supporting our own. But I cannot back something that I don't truely believe in.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: BOOT>i didn't like Seinfeid either.

Name: B00TANEB00TUS
Comment: This man is responsible for all the Medea comedies...He has a proven track record for giving Black folks what they want and like...Aw fucc it, this show was highly anticipated and given a lot of press...Hopefully, it'll live up to the expectations...

Name: Bumpa_Stank
Comment: when the smoke clears and the dust settles, the show was not funny... and it was a bit confusing... he changed everything around with no warning and started over again with the plot... i thought the crackhead wife burned the house down last summer... (((sigh))) i love TP... he is making the cheese, but this one... sucks, im sorry... forget about the jobs he is giving blacks and the white vs. black tv and yadda yadda yadda... the show just sucks...

Name: archcookies
Comment: > infofan1960 First of all if a show was created with an intelligent cast and serious plot line that doesn't involve, car chases, shooting scenes, pimp, h.os, drug smokers, drug dealers, hustlers, our people are not interested in it. The Tyler Perry plays have played out to sold out crowds for years here in St. Louis, a play like "Aida" which happened to be about a black princess and was full of afrocentric scenery was largely ignored by black audiences. Incidentally that is the play that gave Heather Headley her enormous fame. Oprah Winfrey tried it with Beloved, blacks didn't understand it an didn't support it. I am sorry I just don't watch something on tv because there are black people in it, Tyler Perry's play border on the ridiculous at their best, I like another reader did not have a Madea for a grandmother and thank God for that. I admire his pluck but the only reason white America embraces TP right now is because he is viewed as a hot commodity that can deliever the black audience. I am sorry I don't find a lot of the white comedies funny I sure as he11 am not going to watch this just because it is produced by a black. The masses love mediocrity.

Name: HoneyMack
Comment: WHAT!!??? Man please. As much as I believe in supporting "our" folks, that ish was horrible straight garbage. The 2nd episode was only better than the 1st cause Brown was in that one. Him and the little girl were the only saving grace. The timing was off and the acting was very amateurish. I'm sure in the next few episodes the viewership will decline. SMH, I am so disappointed. Tyler needs to stick to stage plays and movies.

Name: dakoolestkat
Comment: Sorry Tyler..as much as I support your other work I was very disappointed with these 2 episodes. I was high as a kite when I watched them and I still didn't laugh...now that's bad! LOL

Name: gingerg
Comment: Arch, consider that BET's American Gangster series, which was produced by a black man, is their top rated show! And if I'm not mistaken, the talented Ving Rhames is the narrator.

Name: archcookies
Comment: >Boot honestly if it's trash it's trash black or white. Why should we accept something inferior or not well thought out just because it is produced by a black man ? TP is making a lot of money if this show tanks, which it will, he will still be viable in Hollywood, If a person doesn't like something that is produced by a black person that doesn't mean, he is am jealous, or have crab mentality it just means he doesn't like it. We can hate something produced by a white man and that's cool, but let us not accept something that is banal, stupid and coonish that is written by a black man and instantly a person is branded as an uncle tom, just because it's black produced doesn't automatically get a pass from me. I tired of the Madea plays and I was a fan at one time because in almost every play there was the same outlandish behavior in one form or the other. I don't want white people to think that all of our grandmothers are ex cons, steal and smoke dope. The plays wore thin, I give him credit with his movies but I think he's stretching himself too thin. He doesn't try to be the triple threat that he thinks he is.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Boot..Amen to that..lol I'm not sure why people are expecting more from Tyler simply because he made a lot of popular less than stellar stage productions and subsequently brought them to the big screen (which fared well). I saw this crap and no the humor is no different than all of these other non-black shows which remain on-air for years. Our problems is that we're always expecting the "next great black hope" (MLK, Malcolm, Cosby Show, Public Enemy etc). That will always be something quite difficult to own up to. That's not suggesting that we need to lower our standard by any means but good greif...his stage productions were straight up trash from the jump! Why expect a Maybach when u been in a Ford Escort all this time?

Name: gingerg
Comment: Arch, you are saying something this morning. I had the pleasure of seeing Heather Headley perform as Aida in New York several years go. She was amazing and she has a beautiful voice. You're also right about Beloved. Toni Morrison is deep, but having read the book, I followed right along. Much is made of Kimberly Elise's performance, but Thandie Newton was the one in Beloved. She had real acting chops, too!

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: And I never thought any of the plays were "coonish." Hmmm..."COON: another word we have no problems spitting out when criticizing some other black folk...but lawd behold if you say N1GGER..the world will come to an end. Hyprocrisy rules.

Name: 4mybabygirl
Comment: I didn't see the show, because I was at bible study. But, a girlfriend of mine said it was terrible and she is a huge fan. She said girl you did not miss anything. I was not surprised. Tyler Perry never rubbed me the right way. I loved his movies, but the plays "I can do with or without. But, the movies I have to say are awesome!! Plus, something about him comes across as gay. I heard him and Donnie McClurkin might have hook up. (lol)

Name: gingerg
Comment: Babygirl, did you just say that you were at bible study and then have the nerve to promote a rumor about two Christian men in the same paragraph?

Name: Babygurl
Comment: Just because 5 million people watched it doesn't mean that it was good. Let's see what happens next. I love TP but I don't know if half hour sitcoms are his thing.

Name: lovelace
Comment: I must say I was disappointed. My 11 year old son watched the first five minutes and bounced. I kept telling him to come back and watch the show w/ me and he was like, "this show sucks!" I called him when Madea made her appearance and he came in my room, watched a minute or two and said, "Mom, its NOT funny!" Unfortunately, he was right b/c I couldn't even stomach the second show. I turned to LMN. Next!

Name: BigDog
Comment: -->>gingerg...Yep, that's what she did.

Name: infofan1960
Comment: Thanks Arch, good point. A lot of our people don't want to see anything unless it has the afore mentioned situations in it. That's so sad. But anyway, I thought I'd give the show a try since none of Perry's plays ever interested me enough to go see them. YES THAT'S RIGHT, I'VE NEVER SEEN A TYLER PERRY PLAY! LOL I wanted to have an open mind. To me, comedy is comedy, regardless of who's telling the jokes. Thus, I found Seinfeld funny and a lot of other sitcoms watched by mostly white people. However, this show really let me down. Still, I am proud of Perry for this success. Basically, if there wasn't an audience out there who liked his kind of stuff, he wouldn't be where he is. I'm just not one of his fans. More power to him though.

Name: CARLAWITHAC
Comment: "Although Perry made an appearance in Wednesday’s premiere episode as his alter ego Madea, the filmmaker says the character’s appearance on future episodes will be few and far between." THANKS!

Name: archcookies
Comment: >nfofan1960 I wasn't really a Seinfeld fan, but there are a few episodes that are quite funny, I watch Friends for a hot minute and couldn't relate to the white people and their humor. I don't really watch that much comedy because for the most part a lot of the shows black or white are just not funny. I have gone to the Madea plays at least two times, saw most of the videos and saw some a couple of the movies. By far the movies show more polish than the rest of the genres, and as for the Browns, (they are making a movie) when that movie comes out I will pass on it because I think the actors from the Browns show act on the level of fourth graders, just being stupid for the sake of being stupid. Don't keep insulting me with the stereotypes I for one am not interested.

Name: HAHA
Comment: I loved Friends :( "Even the laugh track had a hard to finding it funny" LOL!!!

Name: infofan1960
Comment: Very well put Arch. Unfortunately, when we say we don't go for stereotypes, those who do go for them call us bourgeois. However, that is not the case at all. I just personally don't know any families who have members like the ones Tyler Perry continuously have in his material. Not all African American families live the same. THAT'S why a lot of us were so proud of the Cosby's and want to see more shows like that. But again, congrats to Perry. We CAN have differences of opinion without it being hate, as so many people like to label it. God bless them.

Name: oldschoolbrother
Comment: Okay let me read some of the comments correctly, just becaus it has a all black cast, we should watch it? First of all, I am not a Seinfield or Larry David fan. My favorite comedy shows were back in the day, Jeffersons, Whats Happening, Sanford and Son, and Good Times but only when James Amos was on the show. I have neve cared for or watch Tyler Perry's plays. To each his or her own. Granted it is true it plays to sold out audiences but that is a certain crowd. The Color Purple is almost entirely black cast and making money. But there are still some blacks who wont watch it due to the subject matter. With that being said, some people would say I should go to the corner restaurant even though I can get food poisoning and terrible service (which is true).

Name: archcookies
Comment: >infofan1960 I am like you, I can't relate to the families in his productions especially the plays but here's what I think the hook was at least for me, the singing would be off the hook most times, they had some great voices in Tamara Mann and Judy Peterson for example, but in every play there is a crack head, somebody cheating, and on and on and on. Then Tyler would work in the old R&B aongs and would get the audience going that way. In the end, the (Christian)message was muddled and was thrown in to capture to church going audience. From the beginning the plays were miss named "church plays" because the only thing related to a church theme was the music.

Comment: Its a comedy so the bottom line for many is "is it funny". I've seen a couple of the plays on video and although I don't have that type of Madea in my family and didn't relate to many of the characters, I still found them to be somewhat funny. You don't have to relate to the characters to find them funny; you only need well written, funny material. I thought Seinfield,Frasier, and Martin was allfunny, do I know anyone who behaved like those characters, no. The show simply wasn't well written and produced. However, I will give it another shot because sometimes shows get better. Remember A Different World, I hated that first seaons, but when they brought in a new producer and writers the show really took off.

Name: gingerg
Comment: Babygirl, what's up? Your behavior reminds me of that spiritual that says "Everybody talking about heaven ain't going there." Also, one from Barry White - "Practice What You Preach."

Comment: I recorded both shows, but could only stomach one of them. I'll try to get through the other one tonight so I can delete it off my DVR!(LOL) I too had never seen a Madea play until my girlfriend got free tickets to see "Madea Goes to Jail". The best part about the play was the spontaneous moments when they veered from the written script. Tyler is actually a very funny dude. I concur that he either needs to find good, FUNNY writers, or find the time to write the show himself; otherwise the show will probably fail. I don't like white sitcoms, however, there's been a few gems in the bunch. "Will and Grace", "Cheers", "Golden Girls" and "Frasier", to name a few. But "Rosanne" was a show that I actually rushed home for. That whole cast was great. Remember "Soap"? I used to sneak and turn the TV on and watch it because I wasn't allowed to. For those of you that don't remember, (or are too young), Billy Crystal's character was gay, which was very taboo on TV in the 70s. Best black comedies: Good Times, Jeffersons, What's Happening, Cosby, A Different World, Amen, 227, Martin.

Comment: I am a great fan of Tyler Perry's Plays and the one movie that I did see. I also fail to see any redeeming social value in it. This show is not funny! I will repeat once more: This show is not funny! I speak only for myself but this is not the good humor that has made Perry famous. Perhaps, as the series goes on things will change but it was truly a chore just sitting through the first episode(s).

Comment: I'm a fan of Tyler Perry's work but this series should be renamed, "House of Pain" because that's what I felt looking at it. My wife walked out on it after the first ten minutes.

Comment: I didn't say it was true. I just said that is what I heard. If you wasn't down for hot gossip you wouldn't be on this site. This is like the pot calling the kettle hot. I know where I'm going you better check yourself. Especially, SOME of the racist comments and cursing SOME of you guys be saying on this site. I don't know if he is gay or not. Nor, do I really care. He is the one that would have to answer for that. But, make sure you check your eye before you look at mine!!! That is right I said bible study. The last I checked no one is perfect.

Comment: I will try to keep watching this show because many shows started off terrible and then ended up good after all. But the dry writing, the unforgettable characters, and the old school fat jokes and "get out of my house" routines are really hard to get through. They need to do one more revamp, and let give Allen Payne's character more to do. He is actually a very good comedic actor with great timing with the right material.

Comment: I meant "forgettable" characters.

Comment: I don't know about all the cussing or Tyler's sexuality because that's his business anyway. I enjoy his work and his last movie, "Daddy's Little Girls" was a great flick. I saw it as a Valentines Day tribute to my Pop who showed me through his example how to be a husband to my wife and to love black women....well the good ones anyway. My Pop is to me still my hero and the greatest dad in the whole wide world. A man who taught me the value of hard work and being a part of the solution for our people. A man who taught me to have visions in order to reach for my dreams. A man who gave me and my brother the greatest gift of all....by loving my Mama. As far as I'am concerned everyday is Mothers Day and Fathers Day. I know I'm off the subject but that movie was great and everybody should've came out to see it and support my brotha Tyler. We complain that there aren't any movies out there of quality but as soon as one comes out no one comes out to support it.

Comment: Babygirl, you are a hypocrite. I am well aware of the purpose of this site. I just felt compelled to point out how harmful such rumors can be, especially when they come from "church folks" who should know better. It is mean spirited and inconsistent with the word of God. If you are going to go to bible study and come out and engage in the same type of behavior (then have the audacity to get mad) when someone points it out to you in sisterly love), you might as well stay home.

Comment: By the way, I do like a little gossip every now and then, but I really prefer that it is ACCURATE, not just the common "I heard."

Comment: That's beautiful, Train.

Comment: Cornbread, you know n....erish is not even a word. Where do we come up with this stuff?

Comment: Babygirl, the bible says, in part "Be not deceived, God is not mocked." And as the old folks used to say, "God is not a play thing."

Comment: Ricki: I used to LOVE Soap! That's when I became a fan of the beautiful Lynne Moody. All the "Best Black comedies" that you mentioned, we used to sit around as a family and enjoy them. TRAIN: LMAOOOO! SEXEE: They appeared to be overacting cos they were stage acting on tv. Gotta tone it down for the small screen. Gotta tone it down ever more for the big screen...unless it's comedy.

Comment: I going to respond by saying first and foremost Gingeng-who said that God was a play thing? Obivously you took my first comment a little too serious! So let me start by appologizing..to anyone who found what I said offensive!

Comment: I like Tyler Perry but it's hard for him to go outside of his type of humor because this is where he came from. I think he grew up in a dyfunctional and ignorant environment so this is all he knows. I'm not saying that he is ignorant because he's not, but this type of humor and behavior is embedded in him and he turned it into a goldmind. Unfortunately it's not a good representation of african americans.
