Comment: He still doesn't get it. He says, "How was I to know she was underage/in a 21-and-older club they say.” He's not apologizing for what he did, he's just sorry the girl was underaged when he did it. So save it.

Name: SheriBeri
Comment: AND to add insult to injury, instead of giving her a kiss and a hug and escorting her off stage, he just left her lying on the floor like so much trash and ran off stage. Just DISREPECTFUL!

Name: BigSexy
Comment: The song will still be in that whiney monotone voice of his so I'M STILL NOT INTERESTED.

Name: dcdouglass01
Comment: Here's the lyric he left out concerning the young man he tossed into the crowd: "And yes, I flung a boy into the air/and now my heart is filled with despair...."

Name: DCGG
Comment: I'm sick of his annoyin azz voice and face...just go the fuvk away...

Name: YLawdY
Comment: She WAS so much trash. Why on earth would he have hugged and kissed someone that allowed themselves to be objectified like that grinning all the while? He needs to STFU now.

Name: arkansasgirl
Comment: I'm with YlawdY. Why would he hug or escort her off stage? She allowed herself to be tossed and dry humped on stage. You can't expect to much when you allow yourself to be (as Ylawdy put it) objectified like that. But he could have kept that song to himself tho.

Name: mandingoteck
Comment: SheriBeri, why should he apologize for dry humping her if he thought she was of age? If she wasn't underage, then there wouldn't be any problem. Like he said, how was he suppose to know that she was underage at a 21 and over club, especially the way she was dressed. He didn't force himself on her, so if she was of age he shouldn' thave to apologize.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: I heard pieces of that song on tv and it's crap just like his apology.

Name: iamda1
Comment: I don't understand why there is this much outrage over him even giving an apology. There are things that happen AFTER THE FACT that may make us regret our actions. Should he feel bad for dry humping one of his fans? Of course not. They are his fans. They are there to see him. They entered a contest where the winner got to dance WITH him. He is the star so the women COMPETING for the chance to dance WITH him will have to follow the stars lead... whatever that may be... or decline. IF and when finding out she was underage, a simple "I was unaware that she was a minor. My shows are intended to be enjoyed, viewed and attended by ADULTS... however it is not my responsibility, nor do I have the time to check every persons ID card at the venue." should have sufficed. What happened to personal accountability. People act like he knowingly did that to a minor. If snuck into a club with male strippers, is it the strippers fault for not knowing she's not old enough to be there when they start grinding on her? People always want to blame someone else for their... or their families ignorance. (I didn't know the coffee was hot... sue! I didn't know fast food makes you fat... sue!) He did everything reasonably expected of him to ensure NO minors were involved and that was hold his show at a venue labeled, intended and supposedly enforcing no minors. Why is he apologizing. If ya'll are disguisted at what he did... that's one thing. If your disguist is because it was a minor, knowing FULL WELL he didn't know... that's bullsh!t. This isn't R. Kelly's situation we're talking about where he has a tendancy, history and preference for young girls. And I don't even like this cornball or his music and ya'll got me defending him.

Name: SheriBeri
Comment: YLawdyY, she WASN'T trash. She was a young lady. What people don't seem to get is that he shouldn't have done that mess in the first place.

Name: SheriBeri
Comment: Mandigo, he should apologize for doing it PERIOD.

Name: iamda1
Comment: SheriBeri, you offer no reason he should apologize for doing that to a grown woman. (I'm basing that on the venue and him obviously not knowing since he had no previous interaction or connection with her) People gyrate, hump, grind and act out sex scenes on stage all the time... and have since the beginning of stage performances. If you are disguisted or disturbed because you feel his actions were "nasty"... then no one has a right to debate what your definition of "nasty" or wholesome is. You are entitled to think it's nasty just like I'm entitled to think it's a show... and what goes on at a show is of little relevence. But if you are talking about he shouldn't have because she's underage or because she's a woman... that's bullsh!t.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: iamda1 > Yes, he should feel bad. Just because he's an artist doesn't give him the right to touch or in this case hump.

Name: iamda1
Comment: ladybyrd you are right, him being an artist does NOT give him the right to touch or hump a female. However, him holding a contest where women COMPETE (they had to dance to see who would be deserving enough) for the OPPORTUNITY (they knew the "prize" was dancing with him) does give him the right to touch and/or hump her because he has been known and reported to dance like that at numerous shows. Her willingness in the competition gave him the right to dance with her the way he saw fit. He didn't attempt to undress her, fondle her genitals, touch her breasts etc... he simulated missionary position sex and standing sex... which have LONG been "dance" moves used by men to be sexually provacative. His music is about sex and sexual topics. Men are not considered dancing in a sexually charged way by rubbing on themselves, licking their fingers or smacking their @ss which women have the luxury of doing. Men have to hump something. Whether it's the ground, an empty bed (R Kelly, Prince) or someone. She gave him the right by not only competing... but by also not attempting to stop it or let him know she was offended and wnated it to stop. SHE admittedly said it all happened so fast she was caught up in the moment... but NOW that she looks back on it, it was wrong. That's bullsh!t.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: iamda1 > I strongly disagree.

Name: SheriBeri
Comment: iamda1, he should apologize because

Name: SheriBeri
Comment: imadi1, I said he should apologize because IT WAS DISRESPECTFUL! The point is not the age of the female, but that he did it in the first place. And don't give me that crap about "everybody does it"; it still doesn't make it right. If you think its okay for men to treat women like that, well, that's just you.

Name: oldsoul
Comment: Whether it was real or a PR ploy it was an apology, one that he was not obligated to give publicly, again, in a song. Lighten-up people!

Name: iamda1
Comment: SheriBeri, just because YOU view it as disrespectful does not make that the "official" world view of things. That is your point of view. Some would view that as entertainment and I can promise you that at least one female on this message board would have traded places with her in a minute. I think it's okay to treat a woman how SHE WANTS to be treated. Not every female is prudish and/or uptight. If a female wanted him to do that to her would he still be disrespecting her? That young lady WANTED to dance with him in whatever way he wanted. you know how I know... because she competed with other females for the chance to do it.

Name: SheriBeri
Comment: iamda1, who said anything about being prudish and uptight? My ex used fling me around like that sometimes and I LOVED it. You do stuff like that IN PRIVATE. She danced on stage to win a prize, not to be dry-humped. She was yelling Omigod and screaming. Hell, even the security guard was trying to get him off her. My problem is it was just PLAIN DISREPECTFUL. I didn't like it when 2 Live Crew did it and I don't like it now. And I think its a shame that people see so much disrepectful behavior, they think its OK. And if any woman in here would like to be in her shoes, please raise your hand.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: iamda1 > Yes, the young lady competed for a chance to be on stage with Akon, NOT dry hump by Akon. I think this is why men and women view rap differently. Men always think that she wanted it, she was coming on to me, she was having a good time etc. Twisted....
