Comment: I am so proud of this girl. I remember when EURWEB announced that she was taking over this role, the reading jokes were nonstop and there were a bunch of posts predicting her failure, I guess they were mistaken.
Stay humble Fantasia and you will continue to be blessed, I'll be heading to New York in August, I can't wait to see this.

Comment: With Radio Golf closing Sunday...this was a very smart marketing move to boost sales. I'm sure her run will be extended.

Comment: I was a little worried only because Fantasia likes to add a little screaming to her singing, but she has done well. A friend of mine who was not into her OR the play came away from her performance a new fan. I am very happy for her!

Comment: I love reading how well this Play is doing since Fantasia has joined the cast. I'm so very proud of her. She won me over when she sang "Summertime" on AI. From then on, I've been a true fan and have both of her CD's. Now I just need to make it up to NY to see this play. Continued success to you Tasia!!!

Comment: When I think of all that Fantasia has overcome to reach success, I am glad.
Her God-given, raw talent has given her the life that she so richly deserves.
And it was good to read about the mothers of the church coming out to support her. The prayers of the righteous availeth much.

Comment: Folks put Fantasia down. They said she was too dark, wasn't pretty enough
and she had a baby in her teens. Just look, now! She's doing much, much better than most and has remained humble. Her star is on the rise.
I'm sad to see that Radio Golf's run won't be longer. I had planned to see it on my birthday in August. I guess I'll have to wait for the full run of all August Wilson plays at the Kennedy Center next spring.

Comment: Interesting, her EURcritics and theater experts had plenty say prior to the show's opening. Guess she proved them wrong.

Comment: Correct me if I'm wrong. I thought they were traveling with Color Purple now. I know some people went to Chicago last weekend to see the Color Purple. So, is the show traveling using other actors/actress and Fantasia working in NY with the play?

Comment: Musb - I definitely was skeptical because that movie she did was horrible. I always planned to go see TCP regardless, though. I'm happy that she's doing well. I guess the folks that did that movie were more concerned about capitalizing on her AI win, instead of giving her time to work extensively with an acting coach to get some skills.

Comment: Fantasia, you go, Homegirl!!! I have been a fan since AI, and have prayed for her success and to stay grounded. I'm from a city near High Point and can relate to the circumstances in which Fantasia grew up. I guess that's why I did enjoy the Lifetime movie; it was realistic to me. Even the projects looked familiar.:)

Comment: Fantasia is the sweetest girl. She loves everybody and I am so glad she is doing so good right now and I hope and pray it continues. I have read nothing but good comments on her Celie role in the Color Purple. I hope and pray God continues to bless this girl, she has been through so much, that's why it is not wise to mistreat any of Gods children, you never know who you are hurting or abusing. But the Lord has elevated her now and she never cease to praise His name. She will go farther.

Comment: I saw la Tasia on April 17th, exactly one week after she took over the role on April 10th. I enjoyed her on American Idol and was glad for her win, but I never went out and purchased her CD's and really didn't think her being placed in this role was going to do much for the shows credibility. Honey, I'm here to tell you all not only did Fantasia prove me wrong, sista blew my wig BACK!!!! When I tell you she was born to play this role and she brings every ounce of her truth to that performance you know what I say is GOSPEL. I don't know if any of you saw the NY Times review she got a few weeks back, but the reviewer, who hates everything, said Fantasia was a better Celie than LaChanze who won the Tony.

Comment: I saw Purple this past Sunday . . . I was a little anxious because the number "Mysterious Ways" seemed to be calling down the Spirit with people in the audience ready to get up and do a shout . . . when 'Tasia danced in the Africa number, the audience roared its approval . . . the "And I'm Here" number passed through awesome to an entirely different level - it was deeply touching on so many levels . . . if you can go see the play, do so because it's worth the trip, the time, and the money
