Comment: this article needs to be required reading for this year's incoming college and high school students . . . I am mindful that the people who are most likely to riot think that their lives don't matter and that they continue to experience some of the situations that brought us to the riots of the 1960s beyond that have not been resolved, however, they are better positioned to take care of some of the circumstances that ail them . . . our communities have to take responsibility for the firearm murders and drug dealing in our communities because we are senselessly killing us and the bureacracy won't stop the guns or drugs from getting into our communities . . . we need to understand why we want the bling more than we want to be educated . . . we are ambushed and blind-sided by politicians, so, we need to vote AND then remain vigilant about what our elected officials are doing by making those politicians accountable to us (it is do-able) . . . we need to join the PTA AND be active which means going to the school on a frequent basis and making certain that Tayron's and Unika's teachers know who you are . . . finally, I am mindful that rioting is not an option because today's policing procedures contain riot violence to the community of riot origin which makes the riot activity impact the rioters, only, while life goes on for others, the riot-torn community must fend for itself, so, there is no advantage to burning down where you live or shop
