Comment: Angie, U my girl and all, but i see you back to your ole "woe is me" story....
Girl you are so talented and beautiful. Get over yourself. Stop hating yourself. Stop running after D'angelo in all your articles and telling the world how you been screwed.
Angie is one of the most talented persons i have ever met! She is a genius and should be given credit for not only establishing the first female rap group, Sequence, and the NeoSoul movement, but also bringing back real soul music.
Angie is truly a pioneer! However, life is a circle Angie and you get back what you give out. I know the music industry is a business and you have become jaded because of that.
I read the article earlier this week and the one published by Essence. I was not impressed. In one breath you say you had little to do with D'angelo's success and his first album, but in the same breathe you claim to be his muse.
Everyone knows the only thing D'angelo loves is his music his boys and his next high.... stop trippin. The story that Calvin Richardson told about you a few years ago to Eurweb is so true. You live in your own world and believe what you want to believe. Calvin wrote and sung a duet with you on your last cd and is the cousin to KC and JOJO, for those of you that are not familiar with him. He is also from near her home town.
I hope your new fiance is listening to you as you sing and do these interviews cause you are not singing to him.
What you say about Clive and Alicia is true. He treats her like he used to treat Whitney. But that's not her fault, its his. You two hate each other and that's why she started her world tour in your home town to embarrass you knowiing that just a few months earlier you didn't come close to selling out in your own home town when she sold out in two hours.
Angie, you have lied to the people in your hometown for years about how you were gonna help and bring the talent out of SC. There is lots' of it. I can't sing or dance so it wouldn't help me, but you get respect when you give it. Why are you trippin, Stone Love cd was the best effort til date. That cd was killer, except for that wack song with Snoop that didn't fit anything.
Your biggest hit to date, Brotha was the best advice you have ever taken when Raphael Saddiq talked you into re doing that original track for it. Open your mind and stop complaining.
You are good friends with Betty Wright another genuis who used to be Michael Jackson's voice teacher and also another person who has never gotten her due.
Its a shame that you don't see your own role in your lack of success, you can't fool life, its real and until you start being real with yourself you will never have it. You can give great interviews in the magazines but when people in your home town read it, they know its not the same nasty person they see twice a year when you come home.
lighten up and just try to be a little more honest with yourself and others.

Comment: recognizelife...wow...time for Ms. Stone to let go of the past but sometimes an Artist best work came thru the heartbreak...except for Earth, Wind, and Fire. Their best work included the pain and the Positive outlook on Life...I was hoping Calvin would get his career off the ground.

Comment: Recognize, whaddup, playa? Hope ya been good. Calvin Richardson is also related to Sam Cooke as well. Brother is another force to be reckoned with. Angie will do much better at Stax. It's rooted in tradition and histoy and she's a rooted, spiritual sista as well. See, like myself, Angie's in the world, not of it and sometimes dealing lesser folks who don't quite get it makes a means for disappointment and that brings out the nastiness in one. But she should rock now becuase I feel the tradewinds and they are a blowin', thank God.

Comment: Dang Recognize, tell it like it is.........I wonder what the beef is between her and Alicia too. I vaguely remember when they performed together on one of Angie song's (I think it was Brother) and I swear Angie was rolling her eyes at Alicia the entire time.......I thought I was tripping when I saw it but now reading what you just wrote, I did see some resentment.

Comment: Angie beef with Clive is no surprise. They did her wrong. The market her short and quick and we get stuck with only 2 singles. Angie's best songs are "I wish I Didn't Miss You" and when she was with Vertical Hold, the song "Crash Course To Heartbreak". RECONZIE.... Angie may have promised to discover talent in SC but it's not always possible to start when you got your own beef with a record label. Maybe she didn't want bring someone into what she was going through. To me Angie's album did not get promoted well enough after her first effort. Just my opinion.

Comment: The name was bought by Concord Records in 2004 and Angie Stone recently confirmed she would release a Stax album in 2007. In September, Justin Timberlake was linked to the resurrection of Stax in unconfirmed reports. That's what I found. He is interested in reviving Memphis but Justin has already launch his own record label this summer called JayTee Records. If he launch his own why buy another when you can placed your own artist on the one you bought. But this negro with a pass has bank and could stick his money in a number of anybody's azz these days.

Comment: I read her Essence interview and she sounds like she is trying to convince herself of certain things. She sounds very insecure w/herself. "I'm so beautiful"..."I am a beautiful person"..."I had the baddest body back in school"...it sounds like she has no self esteem and is faking it and trying to convince herself that she is worthy of love/respect/fame/fortune. And that is a shame because she IS beautiful physically w/beautiful skin and a pretty face. And she has the pipes and the writing/producing ability too. It is a shame to see someone w/so much who truly doesn't realize how awesome she really is. Artists are usually insecure, though and that's a shame. I love her music and will probably buy this and her last project.

Comment: Nobody loves Angie's music more than me, but i have to tell it like it is people. She is soooooo Brilliant....but damn she needs to let that ole life go!
The beef Angie has with Alicia is in her own head, she's conflicted about her own, Brown Skin and of course the fact that she is not the sexy dark skinned thin woman of years ago.
She not only has beef with Alicia, he can't stand Mary J. she wrote a song for Mary's 3rd or 4th album and Mary didn't like it and it didn't make the cd. The song was just not Mary's style. Angie put it on her first cd, its the track called "EVeryday", actually D'angelo wrote it and she did the vocal arrangement with him and ever since then she has been %*$!ed with her too. This was back in the day when Mary was still toot tooting. She said Mary just couldn't sing.
We were talking one day, and i brought up that i thought it was kool that Keys was doing so much charity work for Aids and other charities and she went off...i have only seen her a couple times since then, cause its just too much hate there. The vibe was not cool.
She just has beef with anyone who is not Angie. How some one so talented can be so narrow minded is beyond me...but you can't take one thing from her, and that's her talent...
this new cd is gonna be fire! i know cause she now feels like the queen bee of the label...i am happy for her and i will definately buy it. Art is Art.

Comment: Mas90...as far as Angie helping talent, she has her own production deal. She can pick up the phone and u will have a deal in minutes....don't be naive. She had a chance at signing Sean Garrett, he wrote two beautiful songs for her, now Beyonce, Jamie, Brittney and everyone else but her gets his attention...he's also from Columbia, SC...she dissed him and look what it cost her...millions.
