Comment: Awe- he found Jesus. That's great Vick. Come on back to Atlanta where you'll be received with open arms in one of the many black megachurches here.

Name: TMan
Comment: Good words but only God knows if he really means them from the heart or not. Something tells me had he not been caught, the party woulda been on as usual this weekend at the mansion.

Name: TMan
Comment: BlkATLTop, u got it. "He found Jesus? OK, he's clear." That unfortunately be the reaction of a lot of Holy Roller folks in ATL. So sad but true.

Name: MrMan
Comment: He found God because "I think that's the right thing to do as of right now."

Name: Rahwaykid1
Comment: I cringed just a little when Vick said he "found Jesus" cause I guess I expected him to say that. Was He lost? I agree with the statement above. If he hadn't been caught, it would have been business as usual. Only time will tell if his words have any validity or not. As far has his right to work and play football before he was found guilty, the NFL union dropped the ball, so to speak, on that. Isn't the Players Union supposed to protect the players? He had a legal right to work. However, the Falcons are serious about getting their cash back. Done deal.

Comment: Very Well Done Michael Vick. When you don't know what to say, speak straight from your heart. Very well done. On the "Jesus" thing, I can understand why that can make some people's skin crawl...it's been used so much it's become cliche. That said, why shouldn't it be? Is that not when all try to get closer to God, when their backs are against the wall, when they don't know where else to turn, when they've done all they can do with their human knowledge. When you've endured all you can take in the flesh, it's only natural to try to find something bigger than you to protect you, to be the shoulder that no other human on earth can be. When our bodies become weak, I would venture to say most turn to the Spirit, be it whatever religion or even non-relgion. People have an innate desire to redeem their spirits when they become weary. So while mentioning God may be cliche, it should not be dismissed... That said, did anyone read that Bishop "pyscho" Weeks is blaming the beatdown he gave his wife on "the devil?" lol Not THAT'S a cliche I'll challenge! :)

Comment: Great, Mike - didn't know Jesus was lost, but, glad you two met, nonetheless.

Comment: Got Jesus? That's a nice statement. Actions speak louder than church words. Donate some of the millions that you got left in your hefty bank account to the Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals so they can find good homes before the front office "puts them to sleep" because of overcrowding. The SPCA should "put Bush to sleep" for taking up too much room in the oval office. LOL!!!

Comment: He gave a good speech. The Jesus part was disappointing. He did not need to add that part. Im like you are black and you just found Jesus...no easter speech or christmas plays! I support my boy but that part was not good.

Comment: >Rahway and Gurlfrand- That really irks me when people say they "found" Jesus. Like you said, HE has never been lost. Anywho.... I watched the press conference and I think Vick was sincere. For a minute I thought brother man was going to cry. He's had alot of time to think about what he's done, and I beleive he's truly sorry for what he did, moreso than just sorry he got caught. He realizes that by his own stupidity he has thrown away a golden opportunity and his golden boy status. I'm going to listen to the Tom Joyner show tomorrow, they will have an exclusive interview with Vick. When it's all said and done, I feel that once he serves his jail time (which he does deserve and will most likely get) and proves by his actions that he is truly repentant (sp?) he should be allowed to play football again. I honestly hope that he gets his life together, he's still young and can move on and become a better person. Meanwhile, he sure looked GOOD at the press conference! All fine and chocolately and everything. LOL!!!! That's the best I've ever seen him look. Umph, umph, umph....

Comment: FANKEEP>you know that is a good idea. but you know, if these new hot celebrities and well known athletes just think for a minute about their poisiton in the public eye. no matter what they do, the media hounds will be watching and waiting on you to screw up so the thing is don't give them nothing to write about. if it was me, i'd do a "Garbo" and not come out untill i have to do something. i won't hang out at no bars becuase i've been there and done that ain't nothing new. i would have a SMALL and i mean SMALL circle of friends that i will associate with. if i want to party i will have it in the comfort of my own home. if i have to do an interview, i'll do it and take my azz home. my hanging out days are done. i'll be a celebrity homebody.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: CLOSETNERDGIRLIE>how much time did they give him?

Name: YLawdY
Comment: "...situation I found Jesus and asked him for forgiveness and I just turned my life over to God." God spends so much time in jail and on the court house steps, it's a wonder he has time for the rest of us.

Name: Closet_Nerd_Girl
Comment: >bigchassie- He doesn't get sentenced until December 10. But the "legal talking heads" estimate that he will get 12-18 months.

Name: realuvbaby
Comment: I found Jesus, too. When my world bottomed out. Then I found that it bottomed out, just SO I can find him. If MV is truly repentant and turns away from his ways and walks "in the light", he can be restored. Matter of fact, he can get double for his trouble, if he plays his heart right.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: CLOSETNERD>oh okay. well shoot, that won't be too bad then. i feel like this. none of us is perfect. we sometimes do some of the stupidest, dumbazz things, and yeah, we should be reprimended for it. but in time (and with God's help who really do loves us) we got to forgive ourselves. screw what everybody else says, just as long as you forgive yourself. because nobody is responsible for your own actions but you.

Name: realuvbaby
Comment: And I can say "I found him" because I made a conscious decision to abandon my faith and place the world in it's place. Yes, when I turned to the world, I lost Jesus and lost everything else, and found idolatry. When the idols lost their luster, yup, I turned away from the idols and found him again. Funny thing is, he really was there all the time. He didn't change. I did.

Name: Train
Comment: Now he knows who his real friends are and it sure as hell not his co-defendents or his triffling azz father who threw him under the bus in an interview in the AJC on friday.

Name: Exmun
Comment: First things first... quit referring to yourself in the THIRD person. Acknowledge the "me" and that "I" did .... Nonetheless, I applaud what seemed to be a very contrite and responsible conference. I wish for your success Mike V.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: TRAIN>I know that's right. his father needs to go jump somewhere.

Name: Closet_Nerd_Girl
Comment: >realluvababy- "Funny thing is, he really was there all the time. He didn't change. I did." That's exactly my point when I say Jesus never was lost. If anything, we find our WAY to Him, or we find that we need Him. You have a wonderful testimony and I appreciate you sharing it. That, I beleive, is the most effective way to tell people about the goodness of the Lord. Just show them how He changed your life by the example you live, and by sharing your story someone else may decide to find their way to Him too. Also, I didn;t clarify in my first post, I don't doubt that Vick has turned to the Lord. Right now, Jesus is the best friend and help he can have.

Name: Train
Comment: Hopefully this will be a lesson to all of these young brothas out there, especially athletes that they have such much to lose if they engage in bullshyt and can't leave the hood mentality behind.

Name: cornbread
Comment: WHY DO PEOPLE ALWAYS SAY I FOUND JESUS? LIKE JESUS IS HIDING OUT SOMEWHERE AND YOU FOUND HIM UNDER A ROCK. YOU DIDN'T FIND JESUS. JESUS FOUND YOU AND HE SPOKE TO YOU. SOMETIMES THIS IS WHAT JESUS HAS TO DO TO OUR ATTENTION. CAN I GET AN AMEN?

Name: Train
Comment: All of these holyrollers talking about we can't judge Vick are full of shyt. The man confessed to the charges in a court of law. This morning Monique was saying the same b.s. about not judging that preacher that beat his wife, Juanita and that we should pray for him. Monique is cool sometimes but she was a real idiot this morning.

Name: adifferentpath
Comment: people say they found Jesus because while Jesus was NOT lost and has prolly been sitting up under your nose all along, YOU were. YOU were lost...so you found HIM. God Bless.

Name: SweetieDarlin
Comment: Well if he was sincere at least his apology owned up to what he did unlike a lot of people who say 'if I offended anyone'... as if the offense is on your part but I will acknowlege you might be offended even if I don't agree. Okay everyone is cracking on the term I found Jesus but y'all know what he meant, he found Jesus in HIS life, and if he means it, good for him, he'll do better in the future.

Name: realuvbaby
Comment: Closet_Nerd_Girl: I hear you, for real. Jesus is the best friend ANY of us can have. But all in all it's too bad and too sad that this had to happen. It's hard not to judge but right is right and wrong is wrong no matter WHO is doing it. And again, it's NEVER cool to lie because the truth ALWAYS comes out.

Name: Train
Comment: How come m.f.'s suddenly find Jesus when their azzes are in trouble??

Name: fanteeking
Comment: >yLawdY. Your post got my sides splittin'! LOL!!! You stop that, hear me! LOL!!!

Name: Closet_Nerd_Girl
Comment: >realluvbaby- It's all good, and you are correct- what's done in the dark always comes to the light.

Name: Closet_Nerd_Girl
Comment: >Train- I know it sounds cliche but it's the truth, some folks have to get into some deep doo-doo in order for them to realize that they need Jesus. Like cornbread said, sometimes that's what it takes to get a person's attention.

Name: HarrisThomas
Comment: God, in the name of Jesus, is with us when we pray as well as when we don't pray . . . it's not on us to judge Vick's new relationship with Jesus but we will definitely know something of that relationship with God by how he behaves from this time, forward

Name: Southernbelle
Comment: Train>He had to find someone because his friends hauled azz.

Name: reflection
Comment: I would agree that the wording of 'finding Jesus' was unfortunate, since the Lord has never been lost. I assume he meant that he has been saved, which is wonderful and I hope that he stays on the right path from here on out. I don't see how he can't make a change when others are allowed to make mistakes and then be forgiven all the time. It's amazing how cynical and judgemental Americans can be then claim to be Christians, with "in God we trust" on our money. smh.............

Name: RealityCheck
Comment: The real thing here is not that he found Jesus, which he only found because he himself was lost. But the fact that he has been treated like he has committed the worst crime in the world. I owned Dogs and consider myself a dog lover, However it is not a person. Kobe was connected with Rape, Mike Jackson connected with Child Molestation, RKelly is on video with a minor....Not enough... Scooter Libby gave up a CIA undercover, she could be pushing up daisies now if she is not hiding right. Bush has gotten thousands Killed. Back to Football, Ray Lewis is said to have killed someone, although he got off. Bottom line, Vick has been treated like he has done worse than all of them put together. My stomach was upset when I looked on ESPN and saw them recapping his life like he died. Something is wrong with the world. A PIT BULL will turn on his owner and eat up anybody it feels like it, doesn't give him an excuse to kill them, but it also doesn't make this type of Dog compare to Benji or Lassie. Those were good pets. Bottom line, he will have to pay and will, but as long as people are still rocking a Kobe Jersey, Ray Lewis, pumping R Kelly and some oldschool MJ, then why treat him as if he is the worst man alive. Rape is said to be almost as bad as murder, because a woman is damaged mentally forever. Why can't he just change his number and move on?

Comment: i'm diggin your thinking reality check

Name: FiveMore
Comment: Co-sign RealityCheck!Keep ya' head up, Vick!A lot of people was jealous of the Confederate's ...uh-oh, I mean Atlanta's rich black quaterback!Molester,Rapers, and murders have recieved less coverage and even less jail time!A darn shame!

Name: DJGee
Comment: I just read about this on Global Grind's myspace blog (blog.myspace.com/theglobalgrind) and I'm mad Vick is trying to look like he's a good guy now, after everything that's been exposed about him...
