Comment: I hope this situation does serve to enlighten our young people on the way up. I have always believed you can learn from anyone regardless of their station in life be it the mogul or the wino. Folks, remember you can always go home to help those who you grew up around but you may not be able to take them everywhere you go. I loved watching Vick play, and will definitely miss not seeing him on the field. But Vick drove this bus over himself by allowing himself to be involved with his homies and this disgusting "sport". Homies who were obviously ghetto in their mindset, but not ghetto enough to not "rat" on him. Amazing, no honor among dogfighters? He was doomed because his boyz all turned on him leaving him to hold the bag.
One thing experts will tell you that when people harm animals, it's not long before they move up to other humans. I would never trust anyone I see harm cats, dogs etc. VIck should get some pyschological consulting too!

Comment: Young men like Vick and Jones come from the hood. You give them 10 million or 100 million and you still have a brotha from the hood with 100 million. His friends, support systems and way of seeing and moving through the world are rooted in his background. Regardless of our socioeconomic status this is how most humans operate. Taking a person from his social and cultural milieu can be problematic. Lets say someone offered us 10 million dollars to do the job we currently have but the catch is we have to do that job in outer Mongolia. You can buy all the trappings of wealth such as new car, house, etc but you can't leave Outer Mongolia. I can almost gurantee that a certain percentage of well adjusted stable people would have significant problems. My point, you can take the boy out the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out the boy and white folks aint havin' it!!!!
