EUR if you need a proofreader...call me. That was cool how Kanye sampled the classic cut "PYT" by MJ for the track "Good Life". 8 Track's from Kanye's "Graduation" could be singles. I'm just saying....In other new's The Pope was too busy with his Holiday to meet with Corrupt Bush Appointee Condi Rice and another scandal-plagued Republican has announced his decision not to seek re-election in 2008. But I'd like to see these millionaire black men come out against REAL causes - not their vain attempts at making the most money. Who gives a fck. There are people out here with no money and REAL problems that need help. Why not feel good about helping out Kayne and I'm not even going to ask fiddy with his plazma tv pulling off walls azz...

Comment: To Musbdherbs, I'm nor giving them a pass on this one. They need to be as loud and as whinny and as vocal about issues such as Jena6 as they are about record sales and I guarantee you after what Kanye said about bush, if he had mentioned anything at ALL about Jena the press would have picked up on it. I'd like to see some of these so-called black 'rappers' do what the old school REAL rappers such as Gil Scott and the The Black Poets used to do. Talk real shyt instead of little girl 'my dress is prettier than yours' bullshyt. Be MEN.

And you or no one else should believe that if a rapper said something about Jena, that the press would pick up on it. What press is Master P getting other than on the entertainment websites? And he has a good message. Let's be serious and think about what you're saying.

Comment: Nick Cannon, Lloyd, Baby Boy, Sean P, Twista, Tank, Jagged Edge, Killer Mike, Bobby Brown, DTP's Small World and Hurricane Chris will perform at the "Jena 6 Empowerment Concert," to be held Sept. 29 in Birmingham, Ala.
The event aims to raise national awareness of incidents that have occurred over the past year in and around a Jena, La., high school, involving violence between African-American and white students.
Several African-American students were charged with %*$ault and second-degree attempted murder stemming from one of the incidents. Many of the charges have since been dropped, but one student, Mychal Bell, has been found guilty and faces up to 22 years in prison when he is sentenced tomorrow (Sept. 20).
"What's happening to the Jena 6 is not an isolated incident -- it could happen to any of us," says Baby Boy. "We are asking men of all persuasions to stand on the front line with our young people and send a message demanding accountability of law enforcement officials and the judicial system."
In conjunction with the concert, Cannon and Danity Kane's Aubrey will host a Sept. 28 peace rally at Birmingham's Parker High School.
In related news, David Bowie today donated $10,000 to a legal defense fund for the African-American teens. The donation was announced by the NAACP, which is organizing protesters in advance of tomorrow's sentencing.____http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/art icle_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003643021

Comment: At 8 a.m. ET, a Louisiana state patrol officer said five tour buses were being allowed into the town every 12 minutes. That resulted in buses lined up as far as the eye could see in both directions on Route 49.
As the crowd grew in Jena, they found most of the local population gone, reported CNN's Tony Harris. The town's businesses had shut down, he said.
But a Louisiana appeals court ruled Tuesday it was too early to consider a motion to free Bell from prison.
Meanwhile, the U.S. attorney who reviewed investigations into the nooses and the beating said he believes the incidents -- though likely symptoms of racial tension -- were not related.
"A lot of things happened between the noose hanging and the fight occurring, and we have arrived at the conclusion that the fight itself had no connection," said Donald Washington, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Louisiana.
"There were three months of high school football in which they all played football together and got along fine, in which there was a homecoming court, in which there was the drill team, in which there were parades," Washington added.____http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/09/20/jena.si x/?iref=mpstoryview

Comment: Matt Damon: "The Bush Administration Disgusts Me"
------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------
Hollywood superstar Matt Damon lashed out at both the Bush Administration and Tinseltown while visiting France to promote his latest spy flick, "The Bourne Ultimatum," according to French broadcaster RTL.
In interviews for the French glossies Paris Match and Telerama, Damon said "After Iraq, the Bush Administration disgusts me," RTL presenter Thierry Guerrier told listeners Wednesday. Damon also criticized the President's handling of Hurricane Katrina.
And the Oscar- and Golden-Globe winning actor took aim at Hollywood as well, implying that Tinseltown's one-track mind was too depressing for him to stomach.
"I refuse to live there because the only subject of conversation is movies, and it's sad to only have that to talk about that."
Damon owns a home in Miami and has an apartment in New York._____http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/09/19/mat t-damon-the-bush-adm_n_65088.html

The first Sean Hannity heard about it was last night when Reverend Al was trying to bring it up and Hannity assumed he was talking about Megan Williams, the young black woman who was tortured and sexually %*$aulted by those crazy hillbillies in West Virginia. Cryptkeeper Colmes tried to explain but as usual Hannity didn't hear a word he said._____http://www.huffingtonpost.com/trey-ellis/the -jena-6-case-is-histo_b_65010.html

Comment: "Outrage over an injustice like the Jena 6 isn't a matter of black and white. It's a matter of right and wrong. We should stand as one nation in opposition to this and any injustice. That's why I've previously spoken out and demanded fairness in the Jena 6 case," Obama said in a statement today. He also noted that his comments on the Jena 6 "were carefully thought out with input and support from one of my National Campaign Chairmen, U.S. Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr."
Obama's Democratic rivals have also been speaking about the case. At a NAACP dinner in South Carolina on Saturday, Hillary Clinton praised the organization for calling attention to the Jena saga and called for an investigation by the Department of Justice. "This case reminds us that the scales of justice are seriously out of balance when it comes to charging, sentencing and punishing African Americans," she said. "This case reminds us that we have so much work yet to do." Speaking today on Al Sharpton's radio show, she added, "People need to understand that we cannot let this kind of inequality and injustice happen anywhere in America. It's a real wake-up call for everybody because it just reminds us that we've got a lot of work to do."_____http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2007 /09/19/post_81.html

Comment: Soul...u don't have to convince me of much regarding race and politics..lol I don't give the Repubs a pass on anything and henceforth neither for Dems. I don't know the context in which the Obama nor Clinton statement were given. Both are Democratic candidates who are lobbying for black support. Were they asked to respond or just gave (on their own will) a statement? I don't know. I think it natural for Obama to respond so he gets no props for me on that. Hillary, well...it only takes us to think about the policies her "black folk loving" husband instituted to our detriment. What prominent Democratic (black or white) non-candidate has spoken about Jena. That was more my point as the Democrats are the party of black people. I do recall them talking about Schaivo though. Also, it was Tuesday..not Wednesday night that Hannity had Al on there. Yes, he was dumb to Jena.

Comment: Senator Barack Obama made the following statement today in response to the Jena 6 case.
"When nooses are being hung in high schools in the 21st century, it’s a tragedy. It shows that we still have a lot of work to do as a nation to heal our racial tensions. This isn’t just Jena’s problem; it’s America’s problem."
"There are a number of signs that the system is not working in this case. It’s a problem when criminal charges are brought against some students for fighting, but not others. It’s a problem when a public defender doesn’t call any witnesses. And it’s a problem when a prosecutor decides to try teenagers as adults for a school fight, a charge that could leave them in jail for the majority of their lives. That is why I join my colleagues in the Congressional Black Caucus in calling on the judge to consider all the relevant factors and calling on the District Attorney to drop the excessive charges brought in this case. And I, along with other members of the CBC, will continue to monitor this case closely."
"Going forward, we have to fix our criminal justice system. Whether it’s Jena 6 or Genarlow Wilson, it’s long past time for us to admit that we have more work to do to ensure that our criminal justice system is fair. We must ensure that both victims and defendants can receive equal justice under the law, regardless of race, wealth, or other circumstances.".....http://www.minglecity.com/forum/sh owthread.php?p=19894

I haven't seen anything else though. Brother, you really need to start reading various sites so that you be more subjective. I don't care about what Obama said about the CBC. I said that I hadn't seen any prominent democrats (CBC included) publicly (not through a statement) speak on it. I hadn't seen any media coverage on it. It doesn't mean that they didn't say anything. I haven't seen it. By the same, because I haven't seen/heard any republican speak to this..doesn't mean that it didn't happen. This is the media we're talking about. Obama unveiled a tax cut plan on y'day. Did people here hear about it? Probably not. Will people, on 2moro, still say that he needs to provide more substance? Probably so.
