Comment: "Something" told me to post this:
What are Homeopathics?
Homeopathic remedies (also called homeopathics) are a system of medicine based on three principles:
* Like cures like
For example, if the symptoms of your cold are similar to poisoning by mercury, then mercury would be your homeopathic remedy.
* Minimal Dose
The remedy is taken in an extremely dilute form; normally one part of the remedy to around 1,000,000,000,000 parts of water.
* The Single Remedy
No matter how many symptoms are experienced, only one remedy is taken, and that remedy will be aimed at all those symptoms.
Similar principals forms the basis of conventional allergy treatment, where the allergic substance is given in a small dose, and in vaccines where an impotent form of the virus is given to bolster the immune system against that particular virus.
Why use Homeopathics?
Homeopathy is the second most widely used system of medicine in the world. Its growth in popularity in the United States has been around 25 to 50 percent a year throughout the last decade.
This success is fueled by several factors:
* Homeopathy is extremely effective. When the correct remedy is taken, results can be rapid, complete and permanent.
* Homeopathy is completely safe. Even babies and pregnant women can use Homeopathy without the danger of side effects. Homeopathic remedies can also be taken alongside other medication without producing unwanted side effects.
* Homeopathy is natural. Homeopathic remedies are normally based on natural ingredients.
* Homeopathy works in harmony with your immune system, unlike some conventional medicines which suppress the immune system. (For example, cough medicines suppress the cough reflex, which is your body's attempt to clear the lungs)
* Homeopathic remedies are not addictive - once relief is felt, you should stop taking them. If no relief is felt, you are probably taking the wrong homeopathic remedy.
* Homeopathy is holistic. It treats all the symptoms as one, which in practical terms means that it addresses the cause, not the symptoms. This often means that symptoms tackled with Homeopathy do not recur.

Comment: What are Biochemic Tissue Salts?
Biochemic tissue salts are minerals, such as rock salt, that have been prepared using the homeopathic method. There are 12 tissue salts in total.
Tissue salts were developed in the 1870s by Wilhelm Schussler, a German homeopathic doctor. Schussler beleived that tissue salts could restore mineral deficiencies that made the body susceptible to illness. The homeopathic method of preparing tissue salts involves mixing 1 part of the mineral salt with 9 parts lactose. This mixture is diluted with 9 parts lactose. It is repeated 6 times in total.

Comment: Biochemic Tissue Salts, also known as Cellsalts or Schuessler Salts, are minerals in an energy form. Mineral energies form the functional part of every cell, and ideally are derived from organically grown plant foods eaten in an uncooked state. Unfortunately, due to incorrect treatment of the soils, growing conditions and added chemicals, the mineral and vitamin content of our plant foods has diminished to levels unable to sustain cellular resonance.
Although the importance of vitamin supplementation in healthcare has been recognized, mineral replacement in the same form as found in plant foods has been underestimated, even though it was recognized and developed over a hundred years ago by Dr Wilhelm Heinrich Schuessler in Germany. With the rediscovery of the Biochemic System of Medicine, speedy recoveries to health and maintenance of wellbeing have become possible.

Comment: Biochemic Tissue Salts are extremely safe and gentle remedies, which, apart from the very rare case of lactose intolerance, have no risk of side effects. They are normal naturally occurring substances found in the body so they will not interfere with or counteract the effect of other medication or treatment. After the first sufficient intake of Tissue Salts there is an immediate absorption through the membranes of the mouth into the bloodstream, becoming available to the cells of the body within a short time. This gives rise to an increasing feeling of wellbeing with the relief of pain and symptoms of discomfort as the cellular imbalances are corrected over a period of time.
As the stresses on the physical body decrease and feelings of healthy wellbeing are restored, the energetic pattern is also shifted: cellular vibrations are corrected and emitted from the dense physical body into the surrounding energy field, aligning its frequency with the tissues and cells

My co-worker and I asked him "Where have you been the past month?" We told him all the radio personalities, a lot of newspapers and internet sites have been talking about today's protests. I told him "CNN is down there broadcasting live." I guess there will always be a few of our family with a "HUH??" look on their faces. Power to the people!!!

Comment: Nail in the chemical relaxer coffin, but I won't be surprised if most women don't care.
----------
Chemical relaxers, tight braiding and "corn rows" could leave you bald, says a world first study from the University of Cape Town (UCT).
The study, published in the British Journal of Dermatology, shows that one in seven schoolgirls and one third of women are suffering from traction alopecia (receding hair line), believed to be as a result of excessive and prolonged pulling of the hair.
Lead researcher Dr Nonhlanhla Khumalo, of UCT's dermatology division, conducted two separate studies into hairdressing in respect of scalp disease. The first took in 1 042 schoolgirls and the other 874 adults.
They are the first population studies in the world to examine hairdressing and scalp disease in African hair.

All the way up in the elevator he acts like he doesn't know me. That's cool. I can't stand black people that are so scared of what YT will think of them for supporting their people. He was probably thinking, "It's hard enough for a black man to get a job as it is, I ain't gon' mess it up by being no troublemaker." Sellout. Ok, that's not nice, but sometimes that's how I feel when black people act like that.

For the next hour, does anyone feel this?
----
If you had a choice of color
Which one would you choose my brothers
If there was no day or night
Which would you prefer to be right
How long have you hated your white teacher
Who told you love your black preacher
Do you respect your brother's woman friend
And share with black folks not of kin
People must prove to the people
A better day is coming for you and for me
With just a little bit more education
And love for our nation
Would make a better society

Comment: There are lots of people here at work in black, even some whites. Its nice to see. I hate to come across as negative, but I have to ask what's the plan? Everybody wearing black is nice symbolism and its makes everyone feels good, but its not real action. Are we all making donotions to their defense fund? Is there plan to develop a long term strategy for dealing with with future cases of injustice (which we all know will occur)? Are we creating a fund to deal with any consequences that might befall blacks in Jena after everyone has gone home and the media is no longer interested? I hate to sound negative, but I have to ask these questions. In my short time on this planet I seen this before. We get all riled up and march; wonderful speeches are made, everyone feels good, we talk about how great it was to come together, then everything goes exactly back to the way it was before without any real action or impact. I don't know, maybe I'm just tired.

So altho I agree that everyone should be heard, everyone should have something to say that has to do w/ Mychal Bell & Jena 6 and nothing else. That's the whole purpose of the trip, not to get your 15 min. of fame.

Comment: PBF, I stopped watching. I believe the location they're showing on msnbc must be separate from everyone else and it's so embarrassing I can't watch anymore. DOne, I posed the same question to some friends about wearing black and they didn't get it. I think the fact that I would question it was seen as a lack of solidarity on my side. I'm mailing a check. My wearing black won't do anything for them. A check, no matter how small, will. If each of the people wearing black today sent $10, $20, $50, these boys could afford quality counsel. Like Michael Baisden said, this march is not just about black folk. It's about pool folk who can't afford good counsel getting railroaded by the "justice" system. I'm wearing my black, but I'll be doing some other stuff as well.

I pray that our people will CONTINUE to ban together AFTER this protest to prove (to ourselves, not yt) that we are & we remain united, forever. United we stand, divided we fall. It just can't stop here, we've gotta keep the movement going, I agree wholeheartedly.

Black people have to come together as a unit instead of us hating each other. In my neighborhood, a lot of Pakistani people are buying up houses as soon as they go on the market. The black people in the neighborhood complain about but let me tell you this. Those people come together and share their money so that they can each buy a house. some are related, some aren't. Us black folk would never come together like that. It's sad!

Brothers and sisters doing spoken word performances. The crowd was pretty heavy. One women said her son at 16 recently was sentenced to 41 years for robbing white people on the capitol. I just got all welled up for her. We must save our youth. Prison is the new slave ground as someone pointed out. Not only are our prisons filled with our black men, but black women are also filling them up at an enormous rate. Lets help each other people and let this be the beginning of ending these wrongs against us as a people.

One of the missions I really like is working with young girls and exposing them to ideas, places, and dreams that are unfamiliar to them. Being available to them to mentor, guide and encourage is important to me. There are some frats and sororities that are about the business of community service. We do more than hold debutante balls and step shows. I wouldn't be a part of a chapter that only socializes.

Comment: I got this from Yeah I said it. This is funny: I know this is going to bring me some heat, but I have to say that I honestly think O.J. really was set up this time. When was the last time that you heard of a 60 year old man making $400,000 a year from his pension, running up in a hotel room with guns over some old %*$ed pictures and crap like that? Especially someone in the public eye, whose name is already in the news this week, because of a book release? It just sounds too convenient.
I think this is all a scheme by Fred Goldman to sell more copies of that If I Did It book. I mean, really…The man is selling a book written by the (alleged) killer of his son, painting a hypothetical portrait of how his son would have been murdered if he did it (which is most likely how O.J. really did kill his son, but you ain’t hear that from me). Any person that would profit off of his son’s murder is more than capable of setting up a situation like the one that O.J. is in. Besides, Fred Goldman has a villian moustache. You can’t trust people with those kinds of moustaches. It’s a well-known fact! Compare Fred Goldman’s moustache with that of confirmed cartoon villian Dick Dastardly:

Comment: I didn't get to hear any of the speeches today, but I understand where MD is coming from. A person's educational achievement isn't relevant when it comes to speaking. What's important is to prepare your comments in advance, make sure they apply to the situation at hand, and rehearse them several times. The purpose of speaking is to get your point across to the audience. If you are rambling, being profane or off the subject, you won't hold the listeners' attention. There are people with plenty of degrees who never should speak to a crowd; education doesn't determine whether someone is a good speaker. Also, y'all know the media loves to show people who aren't the most literate just to make us look bad.

Comment: Posted Sept. 20, 2007 – Could today’s rally in the tiny town of Jena, La., awaken the Black community – and Black youths in particular – to a new round of activism in the same way that young civil rights leaders of the 1960s joined in the fight against segregation?
After all, it was largely African-American youths who participated in the “freedom rides,” lunch counter sit-ins, voter-registration drives and organizations like the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, the Congress of Racial Equality and Black Panther Party.
In the 1960s, young Black Americans – locked out of the educational opportunities, denied the right to vote and often brutalized by the very institutions purportedly established to protect all Americans – took an active role in changing America. Many of them paid the price with their lives.
We often forget that leaders such as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, John Lewis, Marian Wright Edelman and Andrew Young were themselves in their teens and 20s when they were forcing a very violent Jim Crow into the shadows.
A common criticism among young African Americans is, “Why are Jesse and Rev. Al always grabbing headlines?”
A better question might be, “Where are the new Black leaders, the young people who have the passion, pride and courage to step to the frontlines in the march for justice?” What are we doing as individuals to make our world better?
Tens of thousands of young people, mostly African Americans, are pouring into Jena today. In fact, we will likely outnumber the town folks by quite a few. This event, like the Million Man March, will undoubtedly go down in history as another example of Black unity. But the issue is not only what we take to that racially conflicted community but what we bring back home.
Will we continue to recognize the strength we have in numbers and, more important, will we turn that show of strength into true action? Will we continue to speak out on the injustices we see in our own communities every day? Will we abandon behavior that shames our ancestors and the leaders who sacrificed so much before us?
Jena is about so much more than the racist prosecution of six Black youths. It is the best opportunity in a long time for us to refocus on our purpose and to make sure the next generation will remember our names with pride.
