Comment: What's interesting about this story is the favorable attention the Chapman lady got when it broke a while back. I remember people praising her after her interviews and whatnot, like she was someone respectable. But it's clear at least someone (Puffy) didn't think she was so respectable to not believe her when she claimed the baby was his--and this is someone who claims they were long-time "friends!" That should speak volumes to groupie types everywhere. No matter how "friendly" you think you are to the "baller" you have your eye on, at the end of the day, he still thinks of you as expendable and untrustworthy...whether you're educated or "classy" or not. Puffy is trying to save face now by making it seem the DNA test was just done. According to the other woman's interview he has been paying child support since the child has been born. He seems to have a lack of respect for women and takes pride in spreading his seed around with limited attachment to the mommies and children. They will be financially secure, but can you imagine all of these kids trying to meet up and connect later in life? Shortly before my father's funeral, my mother revealed that I had a "sister" who was born four months before I was. It was so awkward meeting her and I felt absolutely no connection to her. Comment: Gingerg, I'm in the same boat. My Dad has 7 daughters. Four of us have different mothers and the three in Baltimore have the same Mom. Well, at 41, I'm the oldest and I wanted to meet my sisters so bad and have a relationship with them and couldn't figure out for the life of me why they absolutely HATED my guts. Then a cousin told me that for years my father claimed I wasn't his daughter and his actions spoke that in volumes. When we all met up again, they were the same rude, nasty, beotches as before and my Dad said, they all wanted him to do a DNA on me...I finally just said, fuvck it. Comment: I feel what you all are saying about coming up in a single parent household. To this day I still thank my Pops for sticking around and not leaving us. As I grew older and looked at many of my peers with "issues" and more often than not they all had one common denominator, no father at home. Over the past 30-40 years many people have been hoodwinked into the belief that going it alone with regard to child rearing is ok. Well, our jails and prisions are full of examples of why it's not ok. We desperately need more fully intact homes with all children coming from one mother and father. Remember the days when everybody in the house had the same last name? Geesh, how often do you see that today? We gotta push to get "this" back on track otherwise we will continue to produce lost generations of children destined to repeat the cycle.

Comment: Stephanie, that making difference his children will come back to haunt your father one day. I've always wondered why kind of weird criteria parents use for making those types of decisions. My mom is in her sixties now and she still suffers from the pain of knowing that her mother favors her youngest brother over her. Years ago when Boyz in the Hood came out I made a similar comment about how sad the fact that one of the mothers in the movie favored one child over the other and how that made such a huge difference in the paths they chose in life and how sad that same thing occurs in real life. Many women defended that they had favorites, I was very surprised. Although they tried to explain why and their feelings, I just couldn't get it. I co-worker tells about how her grandfather, favored the lighter children over the darker and later the lighter grandchildren of the darker. She has some major issues about that including disliking darker people although she is dark herself.

She was a prostitute to support her habit. She has two men who know her status, previous history and still get with her. She has since gotten clean, she takes her meds regularly and it the HIV is not easily detected through normal testing however I still think you are taking a chance, unfortunately some men don't think so or think the puzzy (or perhaps the person) is worth risk.

Comment: Stephanie, there's an interesting book that was written in the late 80's. It is called Toxic Parents. It answers a lot of questions about why wounded parents do what they they do. It covers the whole gamut. Though my mom is prone to complaining and crying about how her mother favors her younger (lighter) son, she is in complete denial about the fact that she paid for my sister's education, but didn't even give me a dime on books, much less tuition and never attended any awards ceremonies, etc. To this day, she helps my 37-year-old brother with his mortgage, bills, etc. and even gives him and his wife money for the kids lunch money when they are broke. A couple of week ago, I had her prepare a salad for an event that I was having. I'll have to give her $20 for that.
