Comment: I didn't get the feeling that his apology was sincere. He still seemed like a smartass snot. Probably the first time he ever spoke to a black woman.

Comment: I saw that interview and not just him, but, all three anchors were very disrespectful to Tyler and Janet, if you ask me. I wonder if they would have done that to Brad, Angelina, Clooney, Anniston, or any other actors, if it were them, instead of Tyler and Jan. Tyler is such a professional that he knew how to shield the rude questions about that incident from Jan even answering - I did send in my angry email to the station, and, when I went back to their website, it was shut-down - guess a lot of people flooded them with angry letters.

Comment: Nightshift, I totally agree with you that his apology did not come across as sincere, but I'm cool with that. He can't give what's not in him. I'm sure he will know the next time to stay in his place and not be so damn disrespectful, right? That's all we can really ask for.. Way to go, TP & JJ!

Comment: So after all this time of black people MAINLY black WOMEN attacking Janet, it took Tyler to say that "this shyt is old and has to stop." Thank goodness that a black man stood up for Janet. Finally somebody did. Go Tyler

Comment: I never comment on these things but man if that wasnt the most phony apology i've ever seen in my life man it sounded like he was being a sarcastic jerk. I bet if Tyler 2 Piece and peppered him with a down south combo he wouldnt be trying to be all sarcastic and a wise guy...

Comment: Hey you know what, I like his apology;I think it's genuine for his character. And that's all we can ask for I think we need to be forgive because you won't ever see G.W apologize to anyone.. Besides it takes courage to go on national T.V to do that :0)

Comment: Sexee..you're exactly right, that is a man's job..to stand up for his woman. I do think the lack of such is why black men get such a bad rap. BUT, judging from the actions of the black women I saw this weekend, they need to stand up and respect themselves FIRST b4 they expect black men to. But, I do agree w/u. Go TP

taking action is not new foor us..we just forget every 20 years
get lazy
or get complacent
or distracted
or complacent
it's a shame that if Rev Al or Jessie or Farrakhan steps up to demand accountability Black folks wont rally
but Tyler Perry asks and they respond LOL

Comment: Tyler handled it very well. I'm glad he didn't stoop to that anchors level. While his apology may sound insincere, he still had to swallow his pride on national tv and apologize. There is so much power in numbers!! Just like Chuck Brown says in his song "when we are one, I'm not afraid"!! BLACK POWER 4EVER!!

Comment: he knew what he was going to do because he planned it. so by saying he didn't know what came over him is a blatant lie. if he were interviewing Angelina Jolie would he have asked her about about why she was f-cking Brad while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston? no because he would have had more respect for her than that.

Comment: I concur, andryce76 - some people think they can talk and treat black people any kind of way, and, we are expected to take that kind of treatment - I was so proud that Tyler stood up during that interview and backed that idiot down - he looked like a real man, protecting his woman - glad he didn't skirt around it and bring out the "madea" character to play it off - he just told them that questioning was off based, and, they were there to talk about his new movie.

Comment: I'm saying "thank you" to TP for being the man that GOD wants him to be...and that does mean standing up for the woman as well. I have to say that as a black woman that respects self and others, I will always need the black man to stand up for me...thank you to everyone that understands. One Luv!

Comment: More forced altrusim and apologies, lol. I'm always amazed that people demand an apology then talk about how "insincere" it seemed. Gimme a break. Personally, don't lie to me. Tell me the truth: "I'm sorry you were offended (NOT the same as I'm sorry, lol) and I hope this is sufficient enough such that I can keep my job and 'you people' will stop e-mailing me. I was a jerk, but I was just trying to do some hard-hitting journalism and it backfired. I'm sorry it did." See how much better the truth sounds? Enough of these forced faux apologies. They're just stupid.

Comment: I agree the apology did not seem sincere. But I still saw a little fear like okay I am going to lose my job. He called himself a jerk more than once. I think that says something. But I agree with the second comment. The other anchors should apologize too. The tramps!

Comment: Musbdherbs, I didn't realized that many Black women were attacking Janet. I really never gave it a second thought. I recorded that game and her performance. My son watched it with me and I just told him, it was an accident. When I get to work on Monday, that's all everyone could talk about. It was an accident. Get on with doing your work please. I had to get firm with some of them YTs.

Comment: Ewwww... That dude was straight up tacky. He should be suspended or something - w/out pay. They should do him like they did Isaiah Washington. Make him apologize all over the place and still kick him off. Tyler's the man! <> Just so he doesn't think he can solve everything with a tired apology, I think I'll send him an e-mail now.

In this time, where we don't have the Huxtables, hell, we don't even have the Kyles anymore (My Wife and Kids)...Tyler is all we got in the area of positive black media.
We'd better take care of our own!
