Comment: Wow, that's some wild stuff. I wish her good luck with her sobriety.

Comment: There is some schitt you publicize, and some schitt you keep to yourself; THIS is something you deal with in the recovery community. But, I guess folks are so hungry for content, that they fail to take into account the effect on private lives. I have NO desire to observe the pain that this woman and her family will go through...PEACE.

Name: McNasty
Comment: I agree Rod! I have tried a few times to watch the show 'Intervention' but it's just too hard to watch someone go through the addiction and all the emotion displayed by the whole family. It tears people apart and shouldn't be for public consumption.

Name: NYCsoul
Comment: Rod> I totally agree with your comments. I don't understand why he would submit his mother to this kind of a public humilation. I would think she would be humilated enough being addicted to heroin. I don't know how 'outing' his mother is suppose to help her. Get her clean but at least, let her keep her dignity. IMO.

Comment: I'm certain Mario meant his mother no harm...

Name: DOne
Comment: I agree also. This should be between he and his mother. Now if something happens in his life that he wants to keep out of the public spotlight the line will be "please respect my privacy", but once you invite the media into your personal life don't expect it to leave you alone when you decide you have had enough.

Comment: i understand his plight. it's hell dealing with this. i went through it (with my mother and my ex-husband)and can understand the agony he is going through. do what you got to do to keep her clean. heroin is no joke. God bless him and his family. stay strong, my brotha.

Comment: I disagree. When well known people share their lives with others, it helps everyone, including Mario, like he said, it helped him. Mario has given an audience hope and encouragement to overcome addictions. His mom will now take a good, long, hard look at herself. Hopefully, she will stay clean and will say "never again." That had to be hard for her too. She went on television because she wants to arrest her heroine demon FOREVER.

Comment: I commend Mario in his efforts to help his mother but I wonder why this has to be done for the television cameras. Shouldn't this be a private affair?

Name: Angel
Comment: I disagree. I made it a point to make sure my teen cousins watched intervention AND talk to my uncle who's a crack head. You have too many avenues that glamorize drugs. I wanted to make sure they saw the REALITY of what drugs can do. Not only to them, but those that they love. Sticking your head in the sand is not the answer.

Comment: sometimes seeing yourself on tv works for some people because i truly believe that's why whitney decided to get herself together....after she saw the mess that she was on being bobby brown i think that made her look at herself differently and decide she needed to make some changes.

Name: McNasty
Comment: If you're not ready to put the glass dyck down, if you're not ready for that needle to quit speaking to you there is nothing, tv included that can alter that thinking. Druggies pas.s by mirrors just like the rest of us and if taking a good long look at yourself in one of those has no impact putting all your business and emotion on public display sure isn't the answer. Additionally there are too many treatment facilities and too many ads for them for this one little boy's story to make a bigger dent in the war on drugs.

Comment: Mario, I wish you and your Mom well. God Bless You! Congratulations Mrs. Hardaway on four months of sobriety. One day at a time. Keep your head up my sista.

Comment: So what? What's new? O'girl invested in South America. She ain't the first and she won't be the last. Get clean and get on with life, baby.

Name: PTown
Comment: I don't think there is anything wrong with him recording this. Reality TV in general pales by comparison with someone trying to save someone's LIFE, which is exactly what he is doing. If she was so embarrassed about her drug usage, she wouldn't have been using in the first place. Furthermore, if someone wants some help, there is NEVER any shame in that. Drug usage is something that every family has went through, either directly or indirectly. Families that have went through tis have tried everything under the sun (including interventions) to help these people, but just like McNasty said if you are not ready to put down that Glass D, then threatening someone to send them to Hell in a handbasket won't do them any good, either. My only concern (and it's only a concern) is that she has only been clean for four months. Heroin is a mofo, and any trigger stressful event can cause her to disintegrate. So she has to have a heart change as well as a mind change in order to remain sober. I truly, truly wish all of them the best.

Name: michaelollieclayton
Comment: GLASS D usage ain't nothin' but people lookin' for love in all the wrong places! Oh, Tthe things people do to feel loved, the things people do to heal the wounds in their battle-scarred hearts. I blame/fault NO ONE for self-medicating. IT IS TRULY A SYMPTOM OF LIVING THE HELLACIOUS AMERICAN-STYLE CAPITALIST CONSPICUOUS CONSUMPTION EXISTENCE all AMERICANS ARE INVOLUNTARILY BORN INTO...!

Name: McNasty
Comment: PTown his mother does have one hell an incentive to stay clean - he said he would not support her. Living as a heroin addict is a dirty and poorly lifestyle - after all these years she should want something better for herself and the only way to get it and keep it is to stay clean and surround herself with folk that don't do drugs.

Name: Rahwaykid1
Comment: PTown I was gonna mention the same thing. $ months, though admirable, is a very short time. What's the rush to get it on tv? Give his moms some years and then make that move if he chooses. I pray that she stays clean and I wish his family well.

Name: katgrrrl
Comment: Dang. I saw just the first few minutes of this last night and I started crying. Who's idea was this? I couldn't/wouldn't do it on television. <> I hope she gets the help she needs.

Name: katgrrrl
Comment: It's like somebody saw Mario's unfortunate situation as a money-making opportunity. Somebody looked at his mamma and saw dollar signs. Sad.

Name: SweetieDarlin
Comment: I think that Mario is willing to try anything to help his mother get clean. True addicts look in the mirror all the time but they still don't see, maybe this will help, you never know what will. One of my closest friends has been in and out of treatment for years, at one time she had 6 years clean and relasped, she's 9 mos clean now and seems to be doing much better with her program than she did in the past because there were things she had to work out within her self aside from the drugs she was using. Mario may have also wanted to get others in the situation to see and others who may be thinking about doing drugs to think about it. I remember the documentary HBO had concerning heroin addicts, it was not pretty at all, it showed all the sickness and filth heroin can actually bring and it should be required viewing in schools. I hope that his mother is able to get clean and stay clean.

Comment: The wieght of singlem other raiseing so, it is hard they have so many problem and thank God for the single mom who never got on drug and thank God for this GOD please bless the fatherless.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: Mario's Mom is really aggressive, I'm not sure if she was the one behind the show. I watched this and I felt bad for Mario. His memory of his Mom was her being on drugs, needles around the house, him giving his sibling a bottle because Mom left in the night. I think the Mom saw dollar sighs and if you watch the show you will see what I mean.
