Comment: I did not even look at the story yesterday about this because I just knew people had flown off the handle on the message board without knowing all the facts. Must get all the facts! When they said it yesterday on the ATL station they said that Tupac had a pair of underwear on his head and a orange nylon rope around his neck with a cross on it. Don't sound like a noose to me. But people make things what they want them to be. They said the Tupac center would not comment. I wonder why?? HMmm

Comment: ...Yo, it's subject to the artist's interpretation...So what if he took artistic license with Pac's likness...It's what true artist do...I'm sure Pac being an artist himself woulda appreciated it...I can't speak for the artist but...I think he wanted to portray wisdom and struggle that's why he looks aged and hard...It's wisdom ya'll, that's what it is...You also see the thug in that face...What you see is a wise old thug who lived a hardlife...Yes, some of the sh1t he did was ugly, you can see that too...No, the artist would be lying to you and to himself had he sculpted a pretty, clean Pac...He kept it real and street...I'd be more concerned 'bout that 37 year old cat who said he wanted to talk to Pac...Pac is dead man...

Comment: If that statue was in the middle of downtown Denver, I would say who is that supposed to be? If I saw a bust of MLK that Mrs. King had approved and no name was next to it. I would say hey that's Dr. King. That doesn't look like an older and wiser Tupac.

Comment: ATLANTA - Georgia's Supreme Court on Friday ordered the release of a young man who has been imprisoned for more than two years for having consensual oral sex with another teenager. The court ruled 4-3 that Genarlow Wilson's 10-year sentence was cruel and unusual punishment

Comment: The Artist should have put a fiddle in the statue's hand and donated it to a Root's Memorial. Time for a do over.

Comment: Usually, you approve the drawing. And most of the times the statue looks different than the drawing. I have seen a few Martin L. King statue and some look like an older guy. This statue look like Gandi with lips. It doesn't look like a young twenty something. Someone talk her into it when the statue was done.

Comment: ...On a deeper level...By making Pac resemble Fiddler the artist is trying to make the connection between Pac and Fiddler..both were entertainers and both enjoyed a large white following...Both could be accused of playing down or up to White folks...Fiddler by his fiddling and bojangling...Pac by his over the top thug-living...Hmmmmmm, both could be seen as cartoons...Hmmmmm, now I'm not saying this... I enjoyed Pac's music and have a few of his CD's in my collection...I also was able to find the Best of Fiddler at a tag sale...His music had some strong anti-slavery undertones...I would encourage all of you to listen to it....But what is this artist trying to tell us?....

Comment: Well whatever it was the statue was disrespected of course (I have to say it although I know a noose is no laughing matter if that's what it was) they may have done it to protest the true ugliness of that statue! Like Testic said yesterday---it looks like Lou Gossett. BTW BigFriend> The posters reacted yesterday because of the details given, but I know it's your basic personality to dispute all purported acts of racism as a figment of black people's imagination.
